Full disclosure: I'm only slightly ashamed to admit that Early 2014 Me had to fudge a black Rapid GT and a pink Surano as 'best GTAO had at the time' approximations of those - and I've still got them stashed away somewhere. Not sure whether to keep them like that for posterity and do something new with this, replace them with GT3000s, or buy GT3000s and rework them into something more appropriate...

 

...although what I really ought to do is recreate my venerable signature S2000 from Need for Speed Underground (way back in 2003 - good grief, I feel old...) - customisation options willing, obviously!

I just hope there isn't some hidden sting in the tail with the handling or similar - it all looks really good so far, and it'd be a bit of a shame if it wound up like the Blista Kanjo (i.e. great to look at, but a bit of a faceplant to actually drive). Fingers crossed, eh?

I love how the S2000’s styling basically doesn’t age. It originates from a design from the late 20th century, yet the only thing that keeps it from looking like a fresh new design is the incandescent rear lamps and the lack of a touchscreen in the interior.

Of the cars I'm most looking forward to, this is in my top five

 

Fond memories of using the AP1 in Juiced and the AP2 in Juiced 2 and a lot in the Gran Turismo titles. The absolutely bonkers 550hp Amuse GT1 being the most memorable ;

 

 

I can't imagine we'll get a wide body kit, but the S2000 is a nice addition in and of itself

I see that the roof is colorable but so far I see no customization options on it like roof scoops and the likes.

 

Maybe it's possible that this one is a an actual convertible that can have it's top up and down on it's own instead of a topless/softop/hardtop convertible?

 

I'm hoping for that, the last time we had a DLC car with such a cool feature was the Enus Windsor Drop...All the way back in 2015!

Oh damn. The open truck makes me doubt the other canopy option. Hope we can at least turn it into a "topless" model like the Banshee, Coquette D10 & whatnot. I would love to have the CR tonneau as an option if it got to that.

No side skirts either. 

 

Despite the odd customization quirks, its easily one of my favorite cars from the update. I was afraid they were gonna mess up the proportions but it looks amazing

I said the same with the ZR350, lack of customization for what these cars are.

I wonder why they went with the option to ...basically dismantle half the car - but on the plus side, whoever modelled it did a top-notch job!

 

I like the roof options, too - hardtops, speedster, you name it. The main glaring omissions are the decals - no F&F ones at all, which is weird. Although one of the bumper options is effectively a CR bumper, so that might be one way to go with it.

 

Overall, I think this might be one of the best cars from the update - which is a heck of a relief! Between this and the Celica, I'm so happy some of my long-time faves have been added, and done well - time to go burn through all my money, I guess...
