How do I reconfigure anything pc keyboard/360 controller or antything to MUTE THE RADIO?????

Damn near ecerytime I have to touch the GODDAMN D-PAD on my xbox360 controller I bought specifically so I can drive a vehicle on my PC,the DAMN RADIO COMES ON. I don't care what music it is-if it is not silence-I DON'T WANT IT!!!

I'm losing it here...

This annoyance is what will make me say screw it and go read a nice book.

I play the game for 5 minutes and I have to switch the radio off 40 f*cking times-usually while I am in a car chase.

 

I cannot begin to express how much this is getting on MY f*ckING NERVES

dude if you dont want the radio at all you can just mute all music in the game settings? which you can access at any time?

to turn off the radio you need to hold left dpad and right stick down to "off"

Maybe I didn't explain it well because I was a bit peeved.

 

Yes, I understand how to turn the radio off. I do it 40 bazzillion times for every 3 minutes of game play. I am a expert at turning the radio off-and I don't want to be an expert.

 

Let me try to visualize. Let's assume I am doing a drop and I need to hit the RIGHT on the D-Pad to make the drop. Up comes the whatever crappy radio station is on the radio that I already MANUALLY turned off by doing what I have done a quadtrillion bazzillion times: Left D-Pad,Right Stick Down. This turns off the radio. In theory. Sure I missed dropped,because I had to turn off the radio AGAIN. Sure I got shot by the cops because I had to turn off the radio AGAIN. Sure this hooker thinks I have AIDS because I had to turn off the radio AGAIN.

But at least the damn radio is off.

 

DEAR ROCKSTAR:

Please for the love of God let me get in a vehicle (car,boat,airplane,motorcycle;any damn thing) and turn the radio off. I swear to God himself if you set it so that if I want to turn the radio on again (possible-but with my level of disgust I doubt it) I promise,promise promise I will stand on my head and spit out nickels as I hit the key/controller combo that does NOT interfer with what I am doing,.

 

Sorry,looks like I'm getting peeved again just by thinking about this damn radio that will not take a hint-it should only come on (after I turn it off) ONLY when I specifically want it to come on.

Sadly this game has very primitive controls, remember it is still a console port, and there is only so much you can do with the limited amount of buttons on a controller.

Yes, there should have been a way to lock the radio in off state, but it's just a position in a list of radio stations. (and I have the same complaint about Forza Horizon)

I'm sorry, but the best thing you can do is just turn off the music altogether in your settings. There is no separate audio control for background music, radio, or even speech (I would love to mute all the heist characters)

For me it's actually the opposite, I turned off the music because I can't stand some of the background music during heists and business missions. I miss my radio, but so be it.
