I would have shot him the second the turned around and started following me. Following me in a FFA game is a good way to get air conditioning installed in your head =P

So haven't posted here in a while but with every passing day I feel myself closer and closer to giving up on this game , half the time I log in I just end up logging off with in a few minutes (if I'm able to join a session at all, since even a month and a half in Xbone is still having goddamn server issues). So tired of the lazy aim try hards that kill me when I'm just trying to hunt, invalidating at times hours of work. So tired of the server issues , getting booted off glitched out or otherwise f*cked over by poor optimization. And most of all I'm just goddamn tired of going through the same bullsh*t loop I went through with GTA , I hoped RDR would be different that GTAO was just an anomaly but same old bullsh*t. Poor optimization, lack of content, and ravenously greedy and quite frankly insulting monetization. Sadly this will probably be my last Rockstar game for a good long while. And I know yea its still a beta but theres still that all to familiar hand of greed permeating every inch of this game.

Welcome to the future of gaming. Mister Strauss - Zelnick thinks that their games are under monetized. In gta, a lot of fools keep buying shark cards. So T2 is thinking that they can get away with this bs. 

 

There's a fine line between that players are OK with monetization and that players think that they are getting screwed.

Well, internet works fine with every other game on the planet. Hardwired. Occasionally, I have two other PS4s connected on WiFi and all 3 work fine. That's 3 systems, 1 router, playing GTA, BlackOps, Battlefield, NHL19, NBA Live 19, and Madden. Every so often, Madden will tell us that EA servers are unavailable, but not very often.

 

So IDK. I guess Red Dead is just super special. Maybe it's an issue with certain ports being blocked. IDK

 

If I change providers I can only get slower. Shouldn't have to do all that for one game. Guess I'm just stuck on the B&M thread. Sure would be nice to go on another thread and fanboy it up. Game sure sounds like it's fun.

I'd have shot them at the first pass.

 

I rarely get into PvP, but when my horse is loaded I come in hot, take no risks, and if the other guy feels the need for revenge I'll let them get their epeen hard again after my pelts are safely sold.

Plenty of people have been saying this, find other games to play for the next half year while R* attempts to finish Online (but keep an eye on RDO for any Good Boah Points that R* dangles out for its online players).

 

It'll help eliminate the hype cycle for Online, which is draining.

I think I may have a fix for this, if you hold the Menu or Start button on your controller, it will open up your map very quickly. Then simply pressing B or Circle once will exit back to the game.

 

Also... holding B or Circle while in any of the Start Menus will cause a little circle will fill up and then all menus will exit straight back to the game. You can also go to the control settings and change the "Tap to Hold Delay" so the circle will fill up faster or slower.

I said it in another thread, but I'll say it here too: Keep in mind that while you're playing other games, tryhards are unlocking everything, learning tricks and exploits, and optimizing their decks. You'll have to contend with them upon your return to the game. Leveling up during this lull in content, while other players are distracted, is the perfect time to earn your stripes with minimal frustration.

On point my bro, but it will only last a few months. No doubt when the game leaves beta you'll be able to rank a character to 100 in a week or two, with all the new content (hopefully lots of contact missions, heists etc) and everything else will be pay to win. But it's a nice thought, nevertheless we'll have our fun while they all play fortnite :-)

I'm in the same boat as you. I got the money to do it I just don't be wanting to. I still can perform very well without them for now, but I know I will need them in the future. I always say maybe I'll invest in ability cards on my next $1000 earned.....then I don't

You haven't run into the right player yet. I did ten or so levels ago, and it completely changed my outlook on them. I got the living sh*t kicked out of me. They are the literal difference between you and yet another loading screen. I've been working earnestly to balance and upgrade them ever since. Also, $1000 will get you to Tier III for ONE card.

I still have a feeling that, that ability card is going to be nerfed, same with the reduced damage in Dead Eye one.

I am also not a PvP player, I am more into the PvE side of things, so I am more looking into the "Hunker Down" and "Come Back Stronger" cards, as I feel they will be more useful to me.

I just need to get my act together and buy them, but currently I am spending money on upgrading my Lancaster, saddle and stuff.

I've already ran into several people that was unaffected by headshots, but they were not good...I was still able to beat them without much trouble. Once I get my ability cards selected I'll definitely will be alright. Just goes to show you that once you get ability cards you still have to have some sort of gun game to make em work.

I do both PVP and PVE, but if you are more PvE just get the ones you think will work for those modes. The problem is ain't really hardly no PvE modes out now.

I still feel I should have at least 1 card for when I get into PvP situations in Free Roam... I am just not sure which one I should get. Any suggestions?

Like Big Show above said Slippery Bastard is a good card especially for those who like to regroup or want to be more elusive if they think they are in trouble. I also heard its good if you want to make a quick shotgun charge to send someone to the grave. As someone who rocks the dual sawed offs I can work with this. I wanna say Slippery Bastard gets rid of the lock a player has on you.

No problem. Now for Never With Out One also mentioned by Big Show above is that hats will block one headshot. So if you get this wear hats at all times. So mix the 2 and shotgun charge is almost unstoppable and an escape is almost assured if you need to get away.

This and this alone is why I continue to play this game. Can't wait for the outraged players who waited for content before going online only to realize that most things are rank locked. Better to put your time in now. Not to mention any other money making nerfs Rockstar might put in with the next update.

You don't even have to no life it. Just play it on a regular basis and level up steady and you will be fine, because its going to be a while before people get the content they want.

I do the same while playing showdowns, Ennio Morricone music. RDR 1 multiplayer had spaghetti western background music in deathmatches but RDR 2 has GTA(ish) background music in showdowns.

f*ck yeah, i'm loving it! it kinda blows my mind rockstar didn't do this? The GTA radio is great, such a fail in RDR2 online that they didn't throw down some wicked western/ blues soundtracks

It's just one of the many illogical things they did. Like removing Mexican Standoff which added to that western feel we want.

I know the crashing is a pain in the rear, but if you continue to log in and suffer through, it'll help with their crash logs and I'm assuming RS will give those of us that suffer more spoils for sticking with it. I've already got $500-1000 and 30+ gold for free from RS. It's not a game changer, but if you put a real money value on it they'll probably give me another game's worth by the time it's all stable.
