Right, now we as Rockstar supporters have just about had enough of these gaming companies manipulating, disrespecting and lying to us. We are the one's that brought them the level of success that they've achieved by sticking with them thorughout the years, supporting them and then the gratitude bestowed upon us by them is a failing, incomplete and bug filled ongoing RDO Beta. And to top it all they even dare to add an online shop option in a Beta version of the game to further fulfill their greedy nature.

We no longer have to put up with this, allowing them to manipulate the situation by trying to force us to either put up with it or get out. So the question we need to ask is how much is RS willing to gamble on this latest failing venture of them called DRO Beta, can they afford to take the risk of such a gamble, have they become so successful that arrogance has started to cloud their judgement? It is quite shockin to see them lose track and energy after a huge successful campaign mode and not carrying over the hype of the amazing story to the online version of the game. Instead they prefer to drag it out by drip feeding the online version whilst still in a Beta formation, just like they used to do in GTAO over the years.

The question one is urged to ask is why are they doing this, why can games like COD, BF, etc etc release their games with both online and story modes ready to play from day one. Another point that needs to be raised which is hightly questionalbe is why are they willing to add new dlc to GTAO, a game being over 5yrs old but the drip feed with RDO is so pain stakinly slow and not worth it at all, like the low quality Battle Royale imitation they are now attempting with a game engine so slow that it even makes the horses in the game go faster. In the mean time the game is losing steam and support and quite frequently you battle to find a decent size lobby due to RS's poor attempt at launching the final online version of this game.

If this continues any longer they will be self imploding just like Bethesda did, which was once one of hte best gaming studions in the gaming world and now it's sadly a case of how the great has fallen. Our message to RS is the following: We do not accept the way u conduct yourselves trying to keep us hanging while u decide how long the Beta will continue, while u don't listen to your supporters' request of what exactly it is we want. We have the power to make or break you, to ensure that you listen to us the very people who made u the success u are today. We demand that you release the final online version and that you provide us with the same hype that we've experienced witht the story line campaign. Yes we cannot force you, yes we can only hope that you will listen and yes let's hope you in fact do rethink your current strategy and ensure that you remain the awesome gaming studio you once were but sadly are not at the moment.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

strongly disagree. nowhere close to what bethesda has done. we have to all understand that majority of the work went into the SP. and we got one of the best SP games of all time. so right now the online is just extra. still a beta and mainly because now the whole team can work strictly towards online. Have games like GOW4 who only have Sp and is over in 25-28 hours. With how great the SP its clear that majority of the team was only working on that. Now they all get to work just for the online. We have a lot more stranger missions and story missions coming and all other kinds of stuff

Fallout 76 wasnt even close to worth the money and rd2 online beta was worth more and better than that whole game. If rd2 didnt even have online at all it would still go down as one of the best games ever, Again games like gow4 are short and have no replay value once you beat it while this game has offered a lot. We all def got our moneys worth with the SP, and think its only fair to give them a few months of when beta is actually over to judge fairly

Come on don't even joke about it. FO76 is a disaster. Latest bans for people getting into developers room they didn't secure properly is a joke. Bethesda selling FO76 should be considered as a crime.

Leaked all their players private information. scammed all their hardcore fans on that canvas bag. (decided to finally give the right one but it will take 6 months) as an apology gave people 500 in game atoms which wasnt even enough to buy the in game version of the canvas bag. scammed people on that nuka rum. Banned players who used mods even the ones where the mod was visual only and made them write an essay to get unbanned. Took them 2 months to add a push to talk feature. I can name 30 more things. Charging 20$ for a santa outfit. Literally every new day they do something else that is terrible. Thats why its only 20$ right now and a very good reason why average score is about a 2/10

Whats funny is if RD2 didnt have online and just had SP. The amazing SP as it was they wouldnt bitch about anything would only rave how amazing it was. Even if it was SP only would still get your $'s worth over GOW4 for example. Beating it in 25-30 hours with no replay value. While this can sink 100 or more in and replay it and make different choices etc. I think people are just being very greedy. We got an amazing Sp experience, def got our $'s worth. And now all their focus is online, its unfair to expect everything to be amazing right off the bat. A good chunk of people dont seem to understand what the point of a beta is

Kind of a shame you can’t do something like port your Singleplayer save to online to earn items like the Electric Lantern, or Jawbone Knife.

Stop. Despawning. Animals. I've. Killed!

Tonight really was the icing on the cake.

Shot down 4 herons. One landed near me, the others not too far away - about 10 paces.

All 3 despawned.

WTF is going on? I can understand if I kill an animal, leave the area entirely then return, I'm not expecting it to still be there, but this is unacceptable.

This is so relatable. Even though I don't do a lot of hunting.

Still can't hardly play. Disconnected 90% of he time.  RDR1 online wasn't anything to write home about, but at least it played fine without constantly disconnecting. I'm sure people still enjoy stories and campaigns but in 2019 I'm in it for the multiplayer experience. If I want a good story, I'll read a book or go rent a movie. I was somewhat disappointed with RDR1 online and I figured RDR2 would be comparable to GTA5 as far as improving the online experience. But this game doesn't really even work. It took me about 10 tries to finally complete the first horse thief mission. I've tried a handful of times to locate the sheriffs and can't get through the first leg of the mission without getting booted.

I started playing this thing on Christmas day and played probably 20 races with no problems. Since that day/evening, I have probably been able to complete 10 races at best before everyone goes motionless and I ride around for 5 minutes before it tells me I've been disconnected. I haven't had too many problems in free roam until I attempt to do a job and then it disconnects. Played a Gun Rush yesterday, survived for about 10 minutes and got shot. Bout 5 minutes later, as the match was about to end, it disconnects me. Again, it's not my connection, it's not my ISP, I'm hardwired and everything else plays fine.

If somebody wants to tell me that this game requires something special that other games do not require, then the folks at R* should have specified some minimum system requirements on the packaging. What the heck are they bothering with updates for if the dad gum servers aren't going to work correctly? At this point it's not just a waste of money, but a ripoff. The game takes way too much space when I don't have any interest in the story mode. R* is awful proud of their stupid stories to basically try to force them on us. I'm looking at the packaging right now and it says 2-32 network players. It says nothing at all about an "online beta".

I guess my next step is to contact support and try to get some answers to when this thing might work right. If online isn't going to work for me, then I'm an unsatisfied customer that expects some kind of recourse.

Think your internet is the problem. None of my friends or I have had that many problems. I dc once per 3-5 hours of gameplay. Thats just like every other online game for me.

I very rarely disconnect but then I do use an ethernet cable.

On GTA when there was problems it would say all the players left but you could stay and play alone but here I guess they really don't want you to play alone so it just disconnects.

I tried setting etu to 800 like in gta to get an empty public lobby but it just wont let you play on this

While I agree; the SP alone is awesome and I definitely got my money’s worth and I’ll absolutely replay it and go for all Challenges, and this time around my playthrough will probably take a good while... in short; it’s insane that we get all this stellar entertainment for such a low price, relatively speaking.

... but I have to object to your using GoW as an example of something you play through once and that has no replay value. It might be a more linear/cinematic game, sort of like Uncharted 4, but I’m playing through it now for the first time, and I can already say I’m definitely going for a replay - because the combat is so good and especially when you get good at it, combined with the fact that you can change some of your attacks to change things up! It’s just awesome and I don’t think I’ve had this much fun with a similar game since I beat the challenges for Arkham Asylum and Arkham City which both had a great combat system (and fun challenges to complete, they were sadly lacking in Arkham Knight).

So in a way I’m much more looking forward to a 2nd playthrough of GoW than Red Dead. What will be different on my 2nd playthrough of Red Dead? What gear have I become better at using? Can I do anything to change things up compared to my last playthrough?

I love both games for what they are, really do, and they both have great replay value for me and I agree that we’re pretty spoiled with good content and value for money these days though..

My B&M is mainly that I wish that R* would sort out the persistent bugs of the game and make it work properly. 😡 I’m sick of having missions that do not start, and having the butcher steal items from me that I’ve spent time collecting.. last night no butcher would serve me, tried in Tumbleweed, nope - nearest one; Blackwater. Ugh. Rode there in cinematic mode because I didn’t want to lose all the pelts and animals on my horse. Nope, didn’t work in Blackwater either. Tried in Strawberry, nope, same thing; the butchers were just standing atop their tables staring into the horizon. Tried one last time in Valentine and when that butcher did the exact same thing I logged off and played a bit of GoW instead. Smooth sailing from there on.

On a 2nd play through of red dead you can at least make a TON of different choices. That will matter. Not just in the ending either. And most people dont do every side mission and explore on the first play through. So a 2nd run make different choices, hunt all animals, explore everything etc. GOW4 only thing that can do in a replay is pick different skills on the skill tree. No different choices that effect the game, no other areas to explore, literally just picking different weapons to use. Most people I know including myself who beat it played their 25-30 hours and didnt touch it again. Besides the few people who really care about trophies like killing a certain number of a kind of enemy etc. So unless you are a trophy person there is no reason to replay it. And crap even if someone is a trophy person then rd2 offers wayyyy more in that case as well with all the legend animals, strangers etc

In RD2 literally by the time you get to mid way through chapter 3 chances are you have exceeded the amount of hours in all of gow. Or if only do story missions straight and nothing on the side, like picking up strangers when traveling etc you would prob be at the exact same hours as it takes to beat gow4. between the 25-30 hour mark.

And point was we got an amazing SP with way more to do in it then other good sp games, in hours, exploring, story, music, characters, etc. All of that. They put in a ton of work to the SP. Pretty clear majority of their team was only working on that. But now that its done they will all only be working for the online. Only point I was making is its only fair to give them a couple months with all their work going to it, but some people are just greedy. I personally feel there is a lot already if have a posse and actually do the story and stranger missions. Obviously needs to be much more. But many people forget what the point of the beta is even for. Mainly getting servers regulated, fixing glitches, but most importantly the feedback. And they have already showed they are taking feedback seriously

Had the same thing happen to me last night in Lagras. Two Roseate Spoonbills I shot--saw icons on the map--despawned before I even got a chance to get to them. 😠

Bl**dy annoying.

Rockstar needs to issue real, downloadable updates on a weekly (or at least every other week) basis that fix these issues--just like updates 1.02 through 1.05 were intended to do.

Some other issues really bug me:

  • While swimming, players should be able to pick up birds floating in the water that they've shot down, -or- at the very least get on their horse and pick them up that way, since no water in this game is too deep for horses. You can pick up fish while swimming, so there's no plausible reason why it's not possible to also pick up birds the same way.
  • While carrying birds, players should be able to scale small pig pen-sized fences. I shouldn't have to try and find the gate just so I can exit the area, when a simple hop IRL would more than suffice.
  • Wet rocks aside, why is my character so inept that they can't carefully walk down most sloped surfaces without slipping or falling? If it weren't so annoying, it would be laughable. I can step, jump and navigate the same kinds of surfaces IRL with ease.

You all ever shoot a gator, get the black paw print to mark it as a dead carcas, only to go skin it and it’s alive somehow and mauls you? Happened to me twice so far.

^^ Yep! It's a two-in-one "WTF?!" kind of bug; I had this happen to me not too long ago north of St. Denis.

You do shoot one of the gators (which dies), but there's a second one _exactly_ in the same position as the one you shot, which makes you think it's just one.

In my case, as I got closer, the second one started to move, and after nearly cr*pping my pants, I shot the second one.

BTW, watch those hard-to-see shadowy areas in the marsh--ran into an alligator who turned me into his afternoon snack. *sigh*

Why do we not spawn at our camp?

Why is our camp always so far away?

Why does it take so long to exit the pause menu??? I WANTED TO SEE THE MAP NOT MY AWARDS

Why are we forced to have Cripps?

Why does the game insist on spawning me in front of people and other people in front of me?

Why can I not make ammo purchases in the lobby when I join a story mission 90% of the time?

Why am I asked to spectate the mission when I want to join a mission?

Why is my matchmaking taking so long when usually it's a few seconds?

Why is my horse not moving COME ON LETS GOOOOOOO

But I still love this game

In PS4 if you open your map directly by long pressing "options" button you can exit quickly by pressing the same "options" button instead of taping circle for 3 or 4 times.

@FreeMaxB585 Thanks for your answer, mate, I won’t make a quote train so I’ll just adress you directly instead. 😊 Like I said earlier I’ve already begun a 2nd playthrough of Red Dead, and I’m going to let that playthrough take a good while. I got stressed on my first one, couldn’t stay away from the story and wanted to avoid spoilers so I rushed it a bit at times and didn’t do nearly as much hunting as I’d thought I would and didn’t finish any of the challenges that I had planned, and did with the first game. Anyway. So I’m looking forward to playing it again and maybe make a few different choices this time around (do they really matter that much though? afaik the same people live and die etc).

Mainly, I just think it’s unfair to adress GoW as a game ”you play in 20 hours and then throw away”, to me it’s a terrible waste to do that with such a good game. I’ve finished it now, after 1-2 weeks of playing (Red Dead took me 4), and I’ve learned to master the combat system and for that reason alone I want to play through it again on a higher difficulty. For the challenge and because the combat has so many layers to it.

Two very different games, quite simply. I’d replay Red Dead 2 because of the challenge of the challenges (sorry), not because my gunplay has evolved so much since I first played through it. And I’d replay GoW not because of a multi-linear plot but because of the amazing combat system that just makes it so joyful to play and master.

Anyway, sorry for polluting the B&M thread, I just wanted to speak my view on the subject.

Well, while I’m here I can say that I don’t like playing Red Dead Online much at all at the moment. Too much stuff is broken and too little stuff is really interesting enough to have me invested. But mainly it’s all the bugs that puts me off. Start a mission? Nope! Finish a mission? Nope! Sell pelts? Nope! Speak to the butcher at all? Nope! Row boats? Nope! Nope! Nope! Nope! Nope!

I’ll stop now.

I beat gow4 as well. decent game but even if you take your time you are getting 30 hours out of it max. if you are a trophy person who cares about killing 20 versions of said enemy then maybe 40. thats only point I was making. Just nowhere close to the replay value of rd2. no more exploring to do, no different choices to make, no areas that you havent been in before, no crap ton of legend animals to go after etc. Only diff thing can do it pick a different combat skill set on the skill tree

All of you, crying about disconnects.

Get better internet.

That is all.

you sound moronic no offense. its not all people with bad internet. they even stated themselves that with the recent gun rush put in a lot of people had bad server problems and it was on them, hence why they fixed it and still are.....

I need a second opinion:

Let say that you roll into Strawberry with a pair of 3-star hawks and a Muskie on your horse.  There's one other random player in the town, riding toward you in the opposite direction as you cross the bridge en route to the butcher.  He turns around and starts following you.

You take one lap around the Strawberry thoroughfare.  He's still following.  You take ANOTHER lap around the Strawberry thoroughfare.  He's still following.

My question: You always shoot this guy in the face, right?

I definitely would. He was probably waiting for the moment you jumped off your horse to go to the butcher to put a bullet in your head and spook your horse
