Yeah the servers can't handle all that detail combined with all the players...hell they can't even function well with the small numbers of players I'm seeing when I play lately.

I was bewildered at first by the small number of clothing items & other stuff available for sale online compared with the large number available in SP. I mean, look at all the hats (not just for sale in SP but the 39 or so unlockable ones). And masks too (like the psycho mask e.g., we don't even have any masks, & the bandanas are pointless online). Then I realized that the devs probably have to do a lot of extra work on all those because of the different body sizes & head contortions, to prevent hair and body parts clipping through the clothes & hats. So we'll probably see all those at some point...if the game survives. The negativity surrounding this game is pretty extreme and widespread, unfortunately. I really hope they turn it around.

You raise some really good points. I kind of hate myself for being so negative on RDO. I want to love this game, and to spend the time between now and GTA6 / RDR3 playing in this world. But as of now, it's more of a lame version of much better PvP MP games than a unique wild west experience. I'm sure they will fix bugs and add content, but it's the fundamental design of the game that seems uninspired. We need roles to play (cowboy, lawman, madame, doctor, soldier, cattleman, outlaw), gambling, construction / permanence, a reason to return - a grander vision. I think PvP could be part of this and should be but man it could be so much more specific. For example, instead of generic Gun Rush, what if there was a PvP/story based mode to defend your entire town against an enemy gang (a la The Magnificent Seven)? Or how about a leaderboard-driven dueling competition like in The Quick and the Dead?  Or how about building your own town and dealing with government annexation and lawlessness (Deadwood). I would also like to see an Interview with a Vampire inspired storyline in Saint Denis (hell, I'd like to play a vampire in this scenario). I think they could also move this game into a subscription model, instead of the terrible grinding for gold and level-up model. Time played should be more important than number of people killed in PvP. Anyway, I'll stop ranting now.

REMOVE LEVEL LOCKED COSMETICS

So, I was thinking I was lucking out by not experiencing the loss of bonding bug a lot of people are getting...turns out when I put a carcass on my horse it resets it to 0 though. Dafuq? But after I sell it, it goes right back to 4. That's real convenient. Further hamper my hunting by removing the bond level, thus losing the left stick click to regain some stamina while desperately hoofing it back to the butcher.

Oh, this game, it just keeps getting better and better...🙄 this next title update can't come soon enough.

Yer, not to keen on the sound of those proximity dots either. The view from my cowboy satellite system currently allows me to check out where each and every dot is and track it's movements every now and then while I'm fishing/hunting. Now they may just come across me by luck and I'm not going to know if I'm fishing (no mini map) and bang, there goes the back of my virtual head and there goes another gold bar to replace the lure I just lost to internet no-life. I so wanted to get into RDRO but the signs are not looking too good for someone with no interest whatsoever in PvP type games.

How far away can you see dots from now?

Disconnect, disconnect, disconnect. Can R* hurry up with either fixing the disconnection issues or first unlock the invite only lobbies so people can play them and not get kicked offline because R*'s servers can't handle that many players in any given lobby?

I stopped playing as a result. FO76 is somehow better despite the issues in it.

You don't lose your lure for being shot while fishing. You don't lose anything other than the fish thats hooked. Lets not make it worse than it is.

If you press pause you can see all player dots on the main menu map. I'm not sure what they mean with that proximity dot revamp? As it is, dots don't show up on the mini map until they're relatively close anyways. I wonder...Will they just remove all dots from the main menu map and/or make the already close proximity highlight just a little smaller?

My guess is that they will remove all blips from the main menu map that aren't within the proximity which reveals them.

Right, now we as Rockstar supporters have just about had enough of these gaming companies manipulating, disrespecting and lying to us. We are the one's that brought them the level of success that they've achieved by sticking with them thorughout the years, supporting them and then the gratitude bestowed upon us by them is a failing, incomplete and bug filled ongoing RDO Beta. And to top it all they even dare to add an online shop option in a Beta version of the game to further fulfill their greedy nature.

We no longer have to put up with this, allowing them to manipulate the situation by trying to force us to either put up with it or get out. So the question we need to ask is how much is RS willing to gamble on this latest failing venture of them called DRO Beta, can they afford to take the risk of such a gamble, have they become so successful that arrogance has started to cloud their judgement? It is quite shockin to see them lose track and energy after a huge successful campaign mode and not carrying over the hype of the amazing story to the online version of the game. Instead they prefer to drag it out by drip feeding the online version whilst still in a Beta formation, just like they used to do in GTAO over the years.

The question one is urged to ask is why are they doing this, why can games like COD, BF, etc etc release their games with both online and story modes ready to play from day one. Another point that needs to be raised which is hightly questionalbe is why are they willing to add new dlc to GTAO, a game being over 5yrs old but the drip feed with RDO is so pain stakinly slow and not worth it at all, like the low quality Battle Royale imitation they are now attempting with a game engine so slow that it even makes the horses in the game go faster. In the mean time the game is losing steam and support and quite frequently you battle to find a decent size lobby due to RS's poor attempt at launching the final online version of this game.

If this continues any longer they will be self imploding just like Bethesda did, which was once one of hte best gaming studions in the gaming world and now it's sadly a case of how the great has fallen. Our message to RS is the following: We do not accept the way u conduct yourselves trying to keep us hanging while u decide how long the Beta will continue, while u don't listen to your supporters' request of what exactly it is we want. We have the power to make or break you, to ensure that you listen to us the very people who made u the success u are today. We demand that you release the final online version and that you provide us with the same hype that we've experienced witht the story line campaign. Yes we cannot force you, yes we can only hope that you will listen and yes let's hope you in fact do rethink your current strategy and ensure that you remain the awesome gaming studio you once were but sadly are not at the moment.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is excactly what i feel too.

Im a huge Rockstar fan, started to play the first gta game on PC 105 years ago :)

Question is why do they want us fans to have a 5 years old game as their newest gta game.

With todays technology with 4K tvs and better equippment this game realy looks old. After playing rdr2,god of war. Far cry 5 and the crew 2 you realy dont want to go back to the old gta, do we fans realy deserve this old game as our only gta game?

This new Battle Royale mode is a poor version of what a Battle Royale mode should be, so mutch wrong with it.

What Rockstar should focus on is to make great missions and the way we can enjoy a open big world with mutch to do, like gambling, properties, customization. The way they connect friends with heists and mission is unique, and  it’s the best online story playing with friends that i ever have experienced, but their part of PvP is already over for me when they still use a slow Clumsy controller.

Adding a gold bar store as their first update almost is greed yes, to a unfinished game. Before christmas other games got big updates but rdo only had christmas songs in their saloon lol.

Why do we need to wait so long for new games and dlcs from Rockstar???? It starting to be very frustrating...

Something is wrong when i have to play other games to have something interesting to play after we got rdo... The modes and stranger mission realy suck, it’s just boring material like we had in gta with resupplie or advarsary modes...

The main reason for me is they haven't even bothered to add free aim. Made loads of money hunting and waiting for free aim so I can have fun shootouts but they just don't care about the many people that only enjoy free aim.

That really is shocking and it's just pointless playing anymore. Haven't played in a week and don't feel like ever going back unless there's free aim.

This, for better or for worse- RDO needs to essentially be a Westworld simulator with actual dynamic & persistent player-driven systems, rather than chasing the Fortnite meme.

I keep on saying this, It can't beat other games based on gunplay and transversal alone- it has to take advantage of the amazing world created for SP and essentially make that world one where you can really get into character and play with friends. As of now, RDO's world is not much more than a stripped-down PvP backdrop and not terribly engaging.

IMO they should have simplified the body choices to reduce the clipping variables- especially considering that even SP has tons of clipping issues already.

I most definitely did lose a lure to being shot whilst trying to land a fish or some other glitch that happened at exactly the moment I was shot. I have no reason to b.s.

Guys it seems we all feel the same and a lot of good points r raised here indicating how outa touch RS currently is with RDO. Clearly we r not happy with the status quo and we quite rightly should not be, period. Now the next question is will RS even take note of these threads and will they respond in a positive manner, listening to our frustrations. I sincerely hope so, for all our sakes?

PS4 @Chrismads.

I have "lost" 3 altogether. 2 to for reasons I can't fully ascertain and that one (I believe) to said internet hero. Perhaps it won't happen all the time that you would lose it but it surely is annoying as a purely huntin n fishin low rank dweeb to have to spring yet another gold bar for a lure when it does.

Hmm i'm on ps as well but has never lost a lure. I've even had a sturgeonsnap the lineon a tree but lure was still in my inventory. Might be a bug on my end? Well, I'm not complaining about that

Had a similar incident out on the trail in New Austin. Wide open country, nothing in sight for miles when suddenly I'm literally inside another horse before being launched 20 feet into the air. Best part is I had an Early Release NPC riding with me and I'll let you guess whether or not he survived the landing...

Same with R* calling it a “beta”. It’s not as horrible as people say it is. The game is a dumpster fire compared to RDRO but the game feels much more rewarding and Bethesda is actually communicating with their fanbase. Most people who bitch about the game never played it. It’s virtually Fallout 4 Online.

This is a really good way of putting it. R* is so locked in to the outlaw PvP mindset that they're missing the bigger picture. They could take advantage of this incredible world and make the game role-based. Some additional roles that would be fun to play, each with its own challenges and rewards:  trapper, rancher, entertainer, impresario/theater owner, stable owner, tailor (hunting for the rarest hides and skins would be cool), saloon owner, gunsmith, sheriff / tax collector (often the same thing in the old west), hotelier, professional gambler...
