Sure do love how I can get charges pressed against me when I heaven f*cking forbid, shoot back at someone that shot me first while in defensive. What is this Wisconsin (may be too soon but the point stands)?

On top of that can we just talk about the outright asswards "Justice System" in the game. Murder half a state? Don't worry just pay half the bounty (50$ for a 100$ bounty) and suddenly your a upstanding citizen again. Let alone the fact paying is the only real way to resolve a bounty in both Single Player and Online a lot of the time, given most people have no clue J A I L Exists in online or even how to end up in said jail.

Imagine the worlds richest developer having an online mode set in the Wild West and not being able to actually commit robberies in free roam after 4 years? It’s embarrassing. The only reason I can think of is that the code is literally incapable of allowing it. If that’s the reason then I accept it.  I cannot fathom how a wild west game is so lacking in wild west content. It’s ridiculous

It is possible that the code is incapable of respawning enough npc characters to cater to the vast amount of innocent robbery victims that we would definitely be victimizing? 😉

My only request is that they stop the npc from speaking from within the coach.

Lol I'm not so good at playing a bad guy and when I'm riding full stride at a stage, guns ready and robbery on my mind, it sucks to have the young lady inside the cabin wish me a wonderful morning or something like that. Leaves me sitting on my horse, guns holstered, watching my opportunity trail off down the road. I try to be a dirty outlaw, I really do, but sometimes it just doesn't work out right.

On the topic of how the "bad guy" act doesn't work well in this game, why is it so darn hard to keep a low honor in this game? I work hard, like really hard to get to a point that my honor is low and all to do the dishonorable missions. And after finishing one I go out give my darn hungry horse a carrot, a pat on the neck, and brush the dust off his coat and I'm the most honorable man in the west?

It should be harder to retain a good reputation I figure than to play the dirty outlaw, it isn't like a rotten gunslinger can't love his/her horse. I mean that is their mode of transport, that animal is like gold at this point?

God, isn't it nice to get killed several times by idiots? I can't believe griefing is still a thing in this game.

Too many bored players I guess? Just recently my son actually wanted to play RDO with me 😁 and I was so worried that we would have to deal with some bad players as well, which would probably make him not want to play anymore. We were lucky not to meet up with any in that server. But it sucks that this is something we have to worry about just to play a game.

That is wholesome. If I had a son, I'd want to play this with him as well - or with a daughter for that matter, don't matter much to me. It's important to teach the kids to not raise arms untill someone else does first, that's what I'll do with any kid I eventually play with

We make it a family event😊. Usually we play GTAO and a few other games though because my son isn't so big into the horses in RDO, lol.

There were a few times when we would join a group of players who wouldn't realize we were a family until one of my kids called me mom.

He's already got a better grasp on handling them than my daughter, who can't seem to keep hers from running into the nearest tree. 😆

If you find the "Tree Homing Seeker" their horse has installed let me know where you found it. Got a friend of mine in dire need of at least 2 of his three horses having the homing device removed. One of them decided to go straight into the river at Strawberry instead of on the bridge for no reason.

I can tell you it definitely isn't in the brain pan, cause the horses in this game are a dollar short when it comes to smarts. 😆

My Buckskin Mustang named "Zulu" is quite an interesting case. She literally does not give a single f*ck about anything that isn't a Bear or Cougar, typically they get mouthy with a Gator, Snake or Wolf is near but normally doesn't get spooked. Gunshots? Zulu just can't be arse'd to care. No really, NPC gets their head removed via high speed weight reduction via 12 Gauges of Justice, directly beside them? Completely unfazed, doesn't even blink or flinch.....one can say that she stood, Unshakened.

Lol, she's a pretty sound little horse for sure.

My bay Turkoman is the same way, as long as I get his blood pumping and keep him moving he can take nearly anything without much fuss. I use him to go hunting for the big cats because he is really good at alerting me of their presence and won't react when they make a move towards us.

The worst horse in my stable so far is my silver tail Buckskin standardbred, she is the only horse that has the hardest time in the swamps with the gators and will throw me if they get too close. But she's so pretty so I just take more precautions when I ride her about.

For the most part the horses in the game do tend to mimic the actual actions of a real horse, until it comes to the predators.

I've just loaded into this game, first two idiots I met tried to shoot at me, yet people will still claim the playerbase of this game is somehow better than GTA's.

What's a joke.

YMMV, but in general I do think RDO's players are much calmer and friendly than GTAO's. It's almost a 100% chance you'll get griefed in a public session in GTAO, less so in RDO. Still high sure, there's always *someone*, but it's still different.

Most of the players on Xbox vary from outright friendly to about as timid and easily scared off as a wild fox. It's mostly low levels and level 300s that seem to be more hostile. The former is a case of they don't know any better and are still learning the ropes of how to behave in RDO, and the latter always typically is a tourist from Los Santos that learns quite quickly that Paint It Black only helps so much....or in my case not at all because Defensive Mode and they shot first so I can kill them without being knocked out of defensive. In fairness I tend to hang around in town and sort of just see who takes the bait and who doesn't. And it's mostly those two types that shoot me for merely walking around in town or shoot my horse and discover they pissed off a old west John Wick.

I try not to mention it much, but on the Xbox I hardly ever meet up with another player that sticks around long enough for me to see their character let alone any players who try to grief me anymore. The last time I logged in I was pleasantly surprised to spawn next to a camp with a friendly group of players who needed help with a moonshine run. Another player I met on the road sent some greetings my way before heading off.

I say that because I'm in the lvl 300's and most people see me coming and either head into the shops or out of town, probably cause they think I'm going to be trouble.

Thing is, I don't play as often as I used to, but I haven't met with a troublesome player during free roam in months. And although I've played GTAO less than I have RDO, I can say that I've met more grief in GTA. Not that all the players in GTA are out for trouble, because I've had some of the funniest moments with random players in that game, but many are more willing to create chaos in that game compared to RDO. At least from what I've experienced.

Not that I'm trying to say that people are not going to grief in RDO, and I hate that anyone has to deal with that kind of trouble when they just want to play a simple game, but from my experience RDO is much more a relaxed player base. If we were to compare the two games and all.

Thank the friggin tourists from LS for that one. Idfk why it is this way but there always in the 300s in terms of level for some baffling ass reason. I've never understood either. Granted I typically do run into the shop just to buy me time to safely get a read on everyone around me, but that's just playing smart.

Even at 300+ I still keep safe spaces at a close reach when I wander around town, so I don't blame them one bit. 😉 And usually I try to emote as quickly as possible in an attempt to let them know that they don't have to worry about me, cause I'm just there to do some shopping (crazy me, I try to keep it real and don't like using the catalogue). Besides I like seeing players in town and greeting them.

I did have one lvl 300+ try and grief me a while back, that player was using some hack or cheat or something because I couldn't hit him/her for the life of me. Point blank range with a shotgun and it was like the spread just passed right by them. An explosive slug made them fall over but my consecutive explosive shot didn't seem to kill them either, it was so weird.

After that I do not engage high level players (300+) at all. I know there are probably some decent players who just want a real gunfight in that range, but it's just safer not to mess with them.

Now on the topic of player levels and briefing, many of the ones who did mess with me tend to be of lower levels, and I think it's because they want to see if they can take out a higher level player is all. If they are really low level I hog tie them and leave them be, if they are at least 100+ I parley and move on. As I'm not playing the game to be someone's trophy or anything.

The punk I met yesterday decided to follow me and chase me around.

Thing is, I am not even that bad at PVP in this game, I just abhor ability cards and everything to do with them, so every PVP encounter is questionable because who the hell knows what they got going on in their loadouts.

When it comes to PVP I am a totally different player in this game than I am in GTA, in this one those freakin ability cards make me avoid everything to do with fighting other players, not to mention the bloom/spread on guns...

I can go on and on about Red Dead Online.

OI, heard of a SCAR Reezy at all? Just askin given their dips*it "clan" just tried to spawn kill me in a lobby. They only got maybe 3 kills on me (Was in defensive the whole time too somehow) and managed to nab at least 4 or 5 including at least one of their horses no less. No real reason why they attacked me, they just had a wagon, and then suddenly started sh*t for no reason.

Edit: so turns out their one of the old GTAV Mil-simmers from the FNCF sh*t from back in the day. They dressed like actual skin heads too for some reason in Red Dead.

Can't say that I have, but the players that I do remember being griefer like typically always had XX symbols in their gamer tags. Like XXThrillKillXX for example, you know gotta have the tough names when you are running around playing a bad character?

Different type of bitch and moan but every now and then maybe 1 in 10 when I am doing a moonshine delivery my 2 horses are super skittish and go all over the place, does this happen to anyone else?

Are you drinking strong moonshine before you deliver? If so you're too tipsy and the horses will go everywhere, just make sure to wash you face in the barrel by the exit before you leave the bar.

If you didn't drink before delivering then I dunno what it could be.

No drinking of moonshine. I have always thought maybe a snake but no red dot to indicate

I have in the past (haven't done many moonshine deliveries at all recently) had the horses pulling my moonshine wagon off to the side of the path every so often, and usually it's as soon as we set off. I pull them back to the centre of the path and they do it again. 🙄 Is that what you mean?

I moved on. Sad for such a great aesthetically pleasing game. But enough is enough. Support is non-existing, the RDR-online future bleak and those monthly updates are Meh.

I wonder why I farmed so many GB, when that was still doable. Sitting on a 700+ pile of golden turds... For what? 🙂

Sad stuff...

Could you spare about 100 of those for me, I still need Arthur's outfit for the hat for one of my outfits.

Also anyone on Xbox going to the funeral on the 13th?

I need to keep my expectations low when it comes to Rockstar and stealth mission design, but every so often, I get reminded how bad it is - did a standard bounty, and I took out one of the guards up on lookout duty with a stealth takedown. Worked fine, no issues, didn't get detected. Everyone else was miles down the hill at camp - but then I notice the target going up and down the hill, so it seemed perfectly logical to just take him out the same way, and smuggle him out without anyone else noticing...

...except you can't, because (as I knew would be the case the moment I knocked the guy out) the moment you secure the target, it automatically triggers the other enemies to become hostile and to home on your location. I get that it's partly because that same phase has waves of dudes chase after you on horseback, and so I imagine there's something programmed to make all such enemies know where you are and attack you, but ...again, I snuck in, knocked the guy unconscious out of sight of anyone, and by all logic, no-one should have been alerted in the first place, so why would they think to send goons after me? If you're going to automatically turn every such encounter into a shootout, then the only benefit to stealth is maybe lining up some free kills with Paint It Black first - and that's not really good enough justification. Being able to do stuff like that with perfect ghosting stealth really ought to be an option (there are even a couple of GTAO missions that can let you do that), but with Rockstar's track record, I suspect that when GTA VI rolls around, things aren't going to be much better there, either. :sigh:

Bonus B&M: the frustrating glitch with some train-based bounties, where the moment the mission updates to identify the target when you're in range (the point where they get a specific mini-map icon), they might go intangible for a split-second, which means they fall through the floor of the carriage they're on, and get flattened by the train. :turn:

Less of a "B&M", more some amusing Rockstar Logic in effect:

I figured I'd unlock the blue Carbow Double Bandolier for the monthly event, because ...well, I don't use bandoliers, but dammit, I'm going to put in the work and unlock stuff to show willing, regardless of whether or not Rockstar feels like supporting the game. Got it yesterday, but it took me a minute to realise, because:

Newswire article "Completing 5 Role Challenges during any week this month will land you the blue Carbow Double Bandolier [...]"

Pic in the Benefits tab: shows a brown Carbow Double Bandolier

Bandolier gifted to me in my wardrobe: a grey Carbow Double Bandolier

sure-okay.gif

Spoiler

Rockstar Social Media peeps better not take up a job in bomb disposal, that's for sure...

Ya the paint it black card is the worst thing though by far. My friend and I did some tests, it one shots you 90 percent of the time even if you're super far away. And arrows track you, I was running full speed but because I was marked it followed me when he shot it lol and one shotted me. No wonder everyone uses it but I use Slow and Steady much more fun... With that card it's practically cheating but again same problem in GTA easiest thing no skill Orbital cannon or OpressorMK2... Such a shame.
