How's the game looking now? I played it for a couple of hours a few weeks ago and it was so bad I haven't been back. How many patches has there been since then and has anything got much better?

And yet I stil find the game fun.  Masochist!

 

What bugs me the most is that it seems that many easy things could make the game better, just simple bug fixes, or additions that already exist in solo, or quick tweaks ... Why aren't these fixed already?  

 

I mean, how hard can it be to double value of jewellery, put a butcher in Annesburg, be able to sell egret feathers, Randomize shack loot and add in real valuables, make parley posse wide, change PvP respawn locations, enable upgraded saddlebags, save properly, keep stuff on your horse post death, put a doctor in Blackwater, have horse speed variation mean something, add saloon camp songs, put in cigarette cards, halve cost of non-ammo consumables, stop your camp moving around all the time, add stew at camp, add pamphleteers to towns, etc etc etc. 

 

And this his is before we even start talking about real 'new' content that needs to come soon, like mini games and robberies.

Nothing has changed. I got back from a 10 day vacation a couple days ago to find out everything is still the same. I'm predicting in about 6 months the online will be enjoyable or a complete disaster

I haven’t dipped into online yet (shocking, I know). Probably will soon though. Probably won’t.

Unironic opinion: Online story mode is a poor use of dev resources and shoehorns every player into a preset position. It doesn't help that it's also much more poorly written than SP's story, and struggles with characterizing your character- who doesn't talk. It should be scrapped entirely or rewritten into an optional sidequest IMO.

 

RDO should focus on allowing players to pursue their own stories, and all players should basically start fresh-off-the-boat without any extensive introduction, instead of being forced into some Mary-Beth-tier-writing revenge story.

 

RDO should also come with the addition of simple 'roles' or 'occupations' that players can take on in the world, be it a stagecoach driver, deputy, or gold miner. These can help with the role-playing element of RDO, which is what I believe is the key to this MMORPG surviviving or dying against other games with superior gunplay/game mechanics.

Thankfully we have video games as an violence outlet eh? Its like I cant do anything without you people killing me and gunning down my horse as well. Go play a showdown or something, at least there's monetary value in killing people there. 

 

You're quick to add the store in, but forget about a passive mode? Infact, why should peaceful players be relegated into a passive mode just to experience the world? Greifers should lose their honor tenfold and be put into a bad sport lobby. 

 

The gunplay is OK..but i hate the fact that headshots rule all. 

 

The clothing system is an improvement from GTA online, which makes me optimistic to GTA 6. The hair is much better here too. 

 

PVE content is needed. Survival would be nice. and GTA esque contact missions to grind out non=stop would be good too. No story, just go here, kill this and return. I dont mind doing that sometimes.

You're not the only one. Dark blue and turquoise. Orange and brown (actually supposed to be red). Pink and purple. Green and yellow are the odd ones out, can't be mistaken. Unless someone was colour blind.

If your foot dares to leave the ground for a second while going down something as simple as a flight of stairs or a slope, you better get ready to eat sh*t. I wonder who at Rockstar thought "you know what players love? Ragdolling across the map because their characters don't know how to land on their feet."

 

And it's either that or sliding around on your ass whenever you're trying to take aim or run away from someone. Because you know, having our characters tumble downhill back in GTAO like possums playing dead wasn't frustrating enough. I think it's intentional at this point.

This is something i really dont get...arent there enough different looking colors to use? 

In control you really have to pay attention if you capture a zone or if it was the similar looking enemy. Such an unnecessary thing to fix in future.

Played showdown large.

 

Gotta say. Feels like it was thrown together the day it was released.

 

Horrid team colours, garbage spawns, unbalanced teams where its 2 teams of 3 vs 3 teams of 1 person and 1 team of 2. Then to top it off, take the hat headshot perk, hat gets shot off.... can't put it on again? Respawn, no hat.... gotta be a way to put the hat back on ffs otherwise it's a one time ability....ever... for the entire duration of a match.

 

Compare this mode to the ones in RDR1 with the moneybag. Like... why'd you make THIS and not THAT?

In terms of Gang Match mode and maps where we play the said mode, RDR 1 is far superior. I know, so weird an 8th year old game is better in that aspect, but it's true. 

 

Better spawns, better maps in towns (Armadillo, Chuparosa, Tesoro Azul), better modes (Hold Your Own, Grab the Bag, Gang Shootout), better gangs you can play as and actually see who's the enemy and who's on your team (Miners, Lawmans, Marshalls, Dutch's gang etc.).

Fishing.

 

A complete and utter waste of time and money in this game. Total nonsense.

 

Just plain shooting a big fish and picking it out of the water, riding it off to some distant butcher is more profitable and less annoying than actual fishing.

 

For real.

 

Hell, fishing with dynamite is the only way to go, if you want to go big.

My biggest gripe so far is when you go out hunting, fishing or whatever.  Have a horse and sarchel full of good stuff, get to the butcher and that bug where you cannot interact with anyone has come about.  So you have to respawn and of course lose everything on your horse.

People are such a-holes which I know is expected in online gaming. Me and two friends were sitting in a saloon having a beer, listening to Christmas tunes and some a$$hat comes in and shoots my friend in the head. Well turns out it wasnt just one a$$hat but it was an entire posse of a$$hats.  Well unlucky for them we are all decent PvP'ers and killed them till they left the lobby. Oh that wasnt my b and m lol. My bandm is a minor detail but why in the world is whisky not served in a proper shot glass and where are the bar dinners?

As someone who doesn't yet have the headshot perk, this is fair.

  • If you carry the perk and have a little bit of game?  You're basically one of the strongest players in the match. 
  • If you carry the perk, have a little bit of game, and know how to use dead-eye?  You're essentially unstoppable (against those who do not have those buffs).

I was doing a mission with my friend and we had some wanna be Doc Holiday chasing us down trying to mess up our mission. We kept killing him successfully but then the game literally spawned him directly in front of us lol. We were driving a wagon and of course he spawned in auto locked on and shot me right off the wagon lol. I was like thanks Rock Star!

 

I think I already told you Hunter about how I was spawned literally right on top of someone in a showdown other day. By the way nice to you friend, we need to gun sling together one of these days.

I think it’s been mentioned before but I’m a little disappointed with the RDO Companion App. I really liked how we could go online and check our different GTAO Stats and Award progress. I hope the app is updated with these features soon or we’re atleast given the ability to go online and do so.

I still don't know how someone would think the combat sway would be a good idea. Didn't find it interesting in singleplayer and specially don't like it here in Online.
