IMO the entire multiplayer was better in the first RDR, no grinding, no ability cards, no gold bars, just fun with your friends or with the other players.

 

Take-Two/Rockstar is already a billionaire because of GTAO, they could easily manage to make RDO as good as the multiplayer from the first game, removing all those sh*t cards, gold bars, and the insane grind. But they won't, they have become more greedy than EA.

 

Just to remember: EA released Battlefield V, Titanfall 2, Star Wars Squadrons, Jedi Fallen Order and Battlefront 2, all of these games had free updates where all game owners could easily access these free updates. Does RDO have free updates? Certainly, but there's a catch: either you give your soul grinding to get gold bars and enjoy the new updates, or you use real money to buy gold bars and then get instant access to the latest updates. That's why despite Rockstar delivering us the best single player from the last gen, I consider Rockstar/Take-Two as greedy as EA. It's just sad how many players accept how they treat this game when we know they could be better than this.

It's more Take-Two since 2k is also doing the exact same thing and Take-Two publishes that also.

Came back to play a bit with the telegram missions [kinda fun, done all of them on easy now will try on hard], and have been messing around doing random contact missions.  Had a wagon holdup really bug out on me where the wagon and horses were clipping out and even though I headshot the driver and passenger they kept on riding.  Eventually got it to 'fix' by ramming my horse into it, which killed my horse but seemed to snap the game back into playable mode.

 

Fast travel was not available after completing the mission.  Very buggy.  

 

I still like the game but there's almost nothing to do.  I keep trying the $$$ bounties to see the newer more story-oriented ones but I can't guess which is which on the bounty boards.  Kinda meh but I'm completely over GTA with that utter sh*t Perico add on so hopefully there will be some decent DLC happening sometime soon

There is plenty of content but it is locked behind "to many players in session " and "p2p connection"!

 

And why are there no bad honor random encounters?

You have to be somewhere that it can pitch; it works a lot for me, since I'm usually in a more remote area.

Hennington's stead is a great "base" for it to nearly always work (works RIGHT OUTSIDE my moonshine shack,

in Hennington's, for example.)

 

It won't work right by a hostile animal, too close to a settlement, etc.

 

Some areas also say a camp is not near enough.

 

Eventually, you can find some. It can also be a quick escape from unwanted PVP (if it is where you can make a camp, of course. worked for me several times.)

I'm coming to that point where I'm out of content, took about 3 months and I avoided the story missions but now that I've done them wow, I'm not even gonna bitch about how bad they are, you couldn't convince me with a hot iron coat hanger that they add anything to the experience but cutscenes

 

its the fact that you cant ready up for about 2 minutes, while the timer stays stuck at 1:15, how long has that been going on?

Yep .. Works fine by me also - Using it quite a lot (mostly because it only cost 1 $ to use, although it sometimes cost 3 $)

 

If the terrain isn't suited for camps (lots of hills, trees, water etc. etc.) it will not spawn .. Always try to find a reasonable flat area, and move around a bit, until the game decides it's okay ..

 

Krommer is right - Hennigans Stead, Great Plains, Heartlands and northern Scarlett Meadows is the easiest areas to make it spawn .. The rest can be quite a challenge sometimes ..

Just had two idiots attack me while I was in receipt of the following:

• Defensive mode
• Slow and Steady 3
• Iron Lung 3
• Fool Me Once 3
• Sharpshooter 3
• Level 2 and 3 tonics
• Minty Big Game
• Carcano
• Semi auto shotgun w/explosive ammo

..and I was right next to my camp so could've stocked up if need be.

 

Didn't die once and they got their arse handed to them, I counted 8 deaths each.

 

To these two geniuses..honestly, what did you think was going to happen?

Let that be a lesson next time to not attack randoms, especially when you're unable to auto aim / paint them and it exposes how sh*t of a shot you are.

If you have the new Bounty Hunter license then the $$$ first on the boards are the new infamous Bounty mission, they're all named and is usually 3 or more targets, which you progress though to capture them all, mostly 3 parts, so you have to go back to the board after a cooldown for the second and third parts. If you press up the D-Pad on your controller or whatever is the associated keyboard key if on PC, you'll get the normal $$$ bounty missions.

The only reason Battlefront 2 had free dlc, was because of how badly they screwed up at launch with their pay to win lootboxes.
They cost Disney a pretty hefty sum due to the backlash, so they launched a 2 yearish  "free dlc" campagin to redeem the game.

After launch BF2 was actually similar to RDO. Yeah there was a new free map here & there over the following years, however everything else took some serious gridning to unlock, even the basic "Microsoft paint"  different unit/battalion clone trooper skins. Players either had to grind like crazy for enough credits, or they could take the easy route and pay a rather high price for the premium credits (Crystals which were BF2's eqiuvalent to RDO's Gold).

They are pretty much on par, EA & R*, just depends on which groups of devs from those two are working on whatever game is/was coming out.

I had some clown attack me in Valentines main street the other day, decided it would be a good idea to try to "Sniper Dance" using a Shotgun and normal ammo while I was in Defensive Mode. I was down by the General Store and he was up by the Gunsmith. I laughed as I gunned him down with my pistols.

I finished about 2 of 10 legendary bounty attempts this weekend, trying to rank up discounted ability cards I didn't really want, due to disconnects, due to the "fault of rockstar game services" on the "double bounty role xp" and "double ability card xp" weekend. I'd blame them for flipping some switch to narrow the threshold of whatever to disconnect me, but I know its march break and their servers are probably overloaded with the 100 or so people who still play regularly on their dial up 1898 internet

 

the only way I can see to shake the sh*t out of rockstar and take who is to totally abandon both of their games and boycott the re re re releases in the future, but we all know nobody here has the willpower for that. and we all know that rather than take their heads out of their asses, take who would just force rockstar to milk whoevers left and try to entice us back with new horse coats instead of actual gameplay

I wouldn't say NOBODY has the will to stop playing. I have for quite a while. Once in a blue moon I'll go on but not for more than 10 or 15 minutes before I get bored to death. I get the urge to go on, I boot into camp, fast travel somewhere and then I'm like, ok, what now? Nothing to do that I haven't done hundreds of times already.

So, playing for the first time in a while, I log in and go to Valentine to get a haircut.  Dead Legendary animals scattered all around the street, so I change sessions.  Clearly a hacker in the zone.

 

I go up to my Moonshine shack and start a batch, then up to my camp in the far northeast corner of the map.  I submit a few deer and then get told there's a moonshine buyer in distress...  No choice but to rescue him or I can't sell my shine... but he's away the hell down at LAGRAS, and I'm given FOUR MINUTES to go all the way there, kill 30 nearly indestructible agents, then ride to RHODES.

 

God damn impossible.

 

Whoever programmed these things with idiotic timers needs to be kicked somewhere uncomfortable.

I did it on the "infamous" bounty posters (mostly on Sunday, when I thought about it...), ranking "slow and steady" up to 3 (which I did not have yet, using paint it black instead.)

I'm going to do "Iron Lung" next, though I think the bounty xp bonus  is probably over. Turned in at least 2  "10,000 bounty xp for .5 gold and $100"

too. Was anyone else silly like I was, thinking the benefit freebie to "rank up the ability card for free" meant NOT needing to raise it with XP? I mean, at this

point if you've been playing for any time the money cost was not the issue.

 

Besides doing the bounties, I was turning in a bunch of collector sets to advance the ability card. 

I kind of remembered something, collecting is mostly relaxing for me and I sort of enjoyed it (no one messed with me either, on Xbox, but I hardly

saw another player ever.) The only bad thing is that a lot of my nearly completed sets are now all lost jewelry/ring/arrowhead "Mystery" junk.

 

Sorry you were disconnecting so much, I was not unless I tried a moonshine/trader delivery; it was exhausting just trying to complete one because of that.

If I'd been playing for some time, then tried either, it seemed to hang on loading then go to that disconnect screen eventually.

When I restarted, then went to camp for the trader delivery or free roam to be by my moonshine shack, then the next delivery went off fine.

It could just be me but why are all the glasses apart from Brass Spectacles tinted? The OP ones you unlock are tinted and the ones you unlock from Naturalist are tinted like sunglasses.

I played for 10 minutes (solo session, naturally) doing some quick dailies (@ 0.15 gold), then decided to look through the pass to count how much gold gets returned, then looked to see if anything interesting is on sale...and disconnected.

Definitely. I've had issues like this too in the past with Hunt the Leader where I've accepted only to be in Blackwater and the posse I've to go after are in Rhodes/Caliga Hall area with 4 minutes on the clock.
