Open world and the stuff you can customize ID awesome. Doing heist/story Missions with friends is very cool.

The big grind, griefers and the heavy/slow controller is not so great, kinda mixed feelings about this online game as a shooter game.

At this point even if they eventually add free-aim lobbies down the line, R*'s blatant priority to make the game feel "polished" for idiots with limitless wallets has left a bad taste in my mouth. To the effect that I don't even want to boot up story mode regardless of how separate of an entity that is from RDO, tried going back to GTAO for a second but the magic has been gone there for me as well ever since PVP went the way of who can afford more militarized vehicles rather than skill. 

 

Any other gamers here old enough to remember series like Max Payne, Condemned, Manhunt, etc?? I just miss not having to have my hand held while trying to enjoy a semi-serious fictional situation, buttfkme it seems like every new IP is being geared towards microtransaction weapon skin collectors..

Finally reached level 21 and was so excited to get rid of that Morgan. Then I accidentally spend an extra $120 on saddles I won't use because I was just browsing upgrades and apparently to buy those it's a tap x and not hold x. Thanks for the consistency Rockstar!

It’s most likely not an issue on your end, lots and lots of us are having issues with getting disconnected. I remember it happening a lot when GTAO first launched so hopefully they get a hold of it soon.

What's the main thing that really wants to make you smash your TV, throw your controller or punch your dog?

 

I have two, getting stuck behind a random object mid gun fight like a barrel, fence or a chair

 

And

 

When I'm mid melee fighting an enemy (with a knife for 7 points) and a "team" mate comes along and ends him with a carbine.

Little problem: running around in tall trees name your weapon for like 30 seconds without seing anyone only to have someone spawn right behind me.

 

Big problem: no bountysystem and in a few weeks most of the players will be thankful if r* adds the stupid passivemode and thats it. This game could be so great with a cool bounty and honorsystem,but what we got so far(no consequences for killing,no consequences for dying,killing every animal you see for good honor,honortrader that only accepts gold..) is just depressing. I cant imagine it going from zero to hero...and it drives me mad.

seems i'm already done with RDO, it won't load my character after a cougar mauled me, got disconnected, prompt says save of "player" is corrupted ,when pressing X it takes me to character creation.

Oh man, I have a lot of gripes with this Online mode.. here are only a few:

 

-R* prioritized shutting down money/gold exploits and started up the Gold Store rather than fixing the multiple bugs, glitches, and issues.

 

-Getting stuck on tiny little objects is always a pain the ass, it was a problem in Single Player and it's a bigger problem in Online.

 

-I really fking hate how the game makes you automatically tackle a player when you just wanted to simply hit them with your gun or melee weapon. Tackling should be a completely different button press, like Y/Triangle while sprinting at an enemy. B/Circle should be purely a melee attack, not an auto-grapple/tackle...

 

-I hate that all player blips are the same color, I don't know who's in what posse or who's good or bad, it's really dumb. If R* wants it to be some sort of mystery, they should just remove blips altogether(except for your posse/friends).

 

-Besides having a tent for better starting Cores, your camp is fking useless..

 

-Honor system is also completely useless besides getting those extra missions, which can still be played through Quick Join regardless of honor level.

L2 (or LT) and then R2 (or RT) to melee with gun or weapon. Arrow melee animations are cool as f*ck so are the tomahawk ones.

Yeah, must admit that's particularly annoying. When you spend half a lifetime chasing someone through tall trees with a knife only to spend the same amount of time in a stupid button mashing animation only for someone else to come along and shoot you is incredibly frustrating.

 

If you're armed you should use that weapon. Tackle should be a result of going in unarmed.

Yes, this can work sometimes. But most of the time, this doesn't work for me because you have to run up to the enemy, then slow down or completely stop(to avoid tackling them) and then stand still next to them to hit them because if you hold forward towards the enemy, you auto tackle.. Whenever I truly need to melee attack someone, its always an enemy that is coming around the corner or out of nowhere and we're both running or moving which results in an automatic tackle for one of us.. and even if you do stand toe to toe with an enemy, you both just end up hitting or pushing each other until one of you has the lowest health then you or them get the execution animation. Why is it so difficult to add a simple melee button.. You can melee with the Fire Weapon button or with B/Circle, I think pressing the Fire Weapon button up close to an enemy should be an execution(if the player's health is low enough,) but pressing B/Circle should just simply be a melee...

 

Here's an example that happened to me earlier: I was playing a Showdown and I was sneaking up behind this guy but he kept running forward down the alley so my window of opportunity for a stealth kill was closing fast so I ran up to him and tried to slow down in time but ended up tackling this guy straight out into the streets only for both of us to get gunned down.. I should have been able to sneak up then run in to close the gap and melee attack him.. instead I was forced to auto tackle him.

I agree with you, even if you tackle someone with a gun you don't even shoot them when you win the button mash, you just slam your gun on their face(which probably happens just in case that player is out of ammo for that weapon). I think R* could easily fix tackling by making it a separate button press from melee and shooting a weapon. You can already tackle players by moving in their direction and pressing the Fire trigger, Y/Triangle, or B/Circle. R* should just make tackling possible ONLY with a Y/Triangle press while moving towards an enemy.

Aside from the bugs and lack of PvE servers, the most infuriating thing for me is sign posts.

My paranoia is getting the best of me in Free Roam, so I don't pay as much attention to the road as I should =P

Deathcams sucks...press x to skip killcam,end up in 3 sec blackscreen.they should get rid of the skipping but also the blackscreens. Feels like sometimes you respawn in a sec and sometimes it takes like 10secs. Especially in races its really annoying.

I thought Kill Cams were cool at first but now I've started mashing the Respawn button so quick that the kill cams always get skipped.

And I love the gta war zone vibe I get from the general population when I'm trying to be peaceful and enjoy the game. 

It's getting to the point where I don't even want to play anymore, I came to RDR for a break from gta. Private lobbies should have been in the game from the start.

Horse pathfinding.

 

Be galloping and see a rock or tree etc. Press left or right, like press it hard!

 

Horse: Deeerrrrrppp runs forwward into the object and ignores your commands.

 

Also you can slam left or right and the horse just derps in the opposite direction like an invisible wall corralled it that way.

Trying to get to Guarna (using a two-wheel, one-horse wagon from Strawberry), and there's a f*cking gang hideout RIGHT AT THE SPOT by Twin Rock.

 

If I get off the wagon and shoot them, the horse will take off.  So, I pick 'em off one by one, park my wagon, kill the last enemy, and somehow my wagon gets destroyed.

Oh no, someone is attacking me. I pull my shotgun and try to defend myself. What does my f*cking braindead character do after I aim my gun at my assailant and try to shoot? Tackle the NPC casually walking right past him and let himself get shot. 

 

Leave it to Rockstar to introduce new mechanics into every one of their games and still make every single one of them frustrating one way or another. They need a prize for this sort of sh*t, it's unreal.

Just 30? Lool. I was running for a full minute without seeing anyone and died from the usual spawning behind and bullet in the back. That was my last time i played the map in Tall Trees. Now i just leave when it pops up.

damn, last night was soooo frustrating....due to the design but also because of the playerbase.

right side of the tracks....dude just rides off with hogtied crawlfish, I go all the way to valentine to retrieve the body from him, then I am back on my way, he comes after me, blows everything up with dynamite....

 

I hate how you have to RELY on these people to get missions done...
