Well that's all you can do. We know the content the game has. We know it's unlikely they will give us anything that will transform the game. You either live with that or move onto something else. Nice going greedstar: I load in to do a couple of quick el cheapo dailies and I get notification that my next fast travel will be free...this during a week of free fast travel.

I guess that's my 'gift' promised as a reward for playing.

I'm not a redditor and only access it thru google. What I do know is that when I googled for glitches, I found a reddit forum called RDR2 Online Glitches. That tells me that they can enjoy the game but they all aren't blindly approaching it.

 

It's easy to enjoy this game but to feel Rockstar isn't doing the job many of us expected. When that happens, you don't have to necessarily walk away from it, just manipulate it.

Na, if someone hates something, they just move on. Those that love the game and want the potential reached offer the feedback R* requested in hope it's reached. To discuss it here is often in hope to get more to help with the feedback further, no harm in it at all.

Just saying that many of us constantly complain because:

1) it's about a problem that has been left in the game far too long

2) it's something that shouldn't have passed testing in the first place IE: sloppy or non-existant testing

3) but really mainly because we do actually love much of this game and hate to see it's potential wasted, otherwise why would we still play it?

 

That's my opinion, but then again it's the only one I know for sure, so it's all I can say with any certainty.

I think he meant that within the group of those who don't agree with him there is also a subset of folks that have toxic positivity.

The first paragraph is exactly my point, though I felt I was clear but unfortunately not clear enough. Shame it got so silly, but if it is a language barrier, can't be helped sometimes. I can respect anyone trying to communicate in my native language as I can't in theirs.

I don't hate the game, I want the game to see better days so I can come back, but some people accept anything Rockstar offers and that's the problem in this community. If you love that much RDO you shouldn't accept this, instead of just saying "nobody is forcing you to play the game", this is childish. Nobody is forcing anyone to play Anthem and look now at the game state.

 

I played RDO since the beta, I've seen Rockstar forcing bullsh*t gold bar through our throat and treating the veterans players like sh*t. This is not what I want to RDO, I want a better game than GTAO and content the players ask for and not a role about taking pictures of wild animals or having to pay more 15 gold bars just to unlock more levels in a role that I've already paid 25 gold bars. It's the same bullsh*t I see in mobile games.

 

That's why I'm bitching and moaning here.

I can remember starting this game in beta, reading what the game was supposed to be and seeing the recommendations to contact support if/when issues arose. I thought to myself, this is going to be a well thought out, orderly game experience, one that will be supported and where player comments really count. So I not only bought in to it, I convinced others to do the same.

 

I can't remember how many drinks I had to buy those guys because I talked them into playing RDO. I'm the only one left from my initial group (thank God for the player hacks or I'd be gone too).

 

Good game with abysmal support and glitches run by scheming, conniving Rockstar.

More and more I think the only potential salvation would be a buyout.

Microsoft maybe, few others would have enough resources...Disney perhaps, I dunno.

They couldn't make it worse unless it went full retard and added saints row crap like GTA has.

I once made a complaint about the female horses growing balls glitch on Facebook some time ago, it was meant to be  joke. But it seemed I had crossed some sacred line and as thus my punishment was to have the fires of hell rain down upon me for daring to speak so critically of the great one.

Do I believe that R* listens to the praise from these kinds of posts and ignores the complaints? Of course I do.

 

The problem is that gushing compliments and ignoring faults will not help anyone move forward, criticism is what pushes ideas forth. But, hey what do I know?

I do complain a lot, I'll admit that.

But I do so because I love the game dearly and can see so much potential just being thrown away. 

 

As an artist I know that when people comment on my work with stuff like "hey that's cool" or "you are so talented" it does nothing more than raise my spirits a bit. But if someone comes in with criticism it allows me to really take a look at my work from another person's point of view, thus allowing me to grow my ability. 

I want R* to make this game grow, like they said they had planned, not to fall back on the good compliments and just leave it at that.

Indeed, that's what i did. Just stopped playing and walked away back to RDR 1 for PVP fix (still awesome by the way) and Pro Evolution Soccer.

 

I still pop in here every now and then. Creature of habbit.

...or some of them glitch the game to make the experience more what Rockstar said it would be at the beginning of beta.

At this point, I know this won't be the Cowboy version of DayZ (emergent gameplay, open ended, etc) and is another GTAO grindfest. That's ok. 

But it's a pretty terrible grind - we have a handful of "roles", but the gameplay is limited considering the genre/era and heavily relies on cosmetics as an alternate. Development remains slow, no roadmap, no announcement of a roadmap, not much variety in non-role activities, an unfinished storyline a year plus on, etc.

 

If this game loop is appealing for you, great good for you. It just seems that for very similar game design loop to GTAO, it's a clear step down and much underutilized or underbaked.
