Seems rather unstable in general. I think the main issue with RDO, more so than in GTA5 even, is that it really doesn't seem to me that Rockstar plays the game

themselves AT ALL; It seems like there are too many irritating bugs which would bother them as well, if they played at all.

Thats the first thing a company should do, have a pair of f*ckers to play their games.

I suspect they don't test anything on this peer to peer sh*t we're saddled with, likely they have nice a stable proper server system to use where almost everything works perfectly.

The customer gets the obsolete broken-ass 20 year old crap like it's napster again. There is a NAP involved, but it's the devs that are napping.

I have so very little patience with this game now, too many bugs that can only be resolved by joining a new session or rebooting the game which is even worse, because it takes even longer.

After I did a legendary bounty I obviously needed to stock up on ammo, but I couldn't interact with the post office at all, I was able to press L2 but the buttont prompts for retrieving stuff didn't show up, and pressing those buttons didn't help either.

So there I went, finding a new session...

Then I wanted to do some easy and quick dailies, drank my own strong moonshine, but ofcourse that is STILL bugged.

Again, a new session I go.

It's just my mindset when I boot up this game, expecting to have to deal with annoying and gamebreaking bugs, it's just not fun to play with such a mindset.

I really hope the next update is a good one, but I'm sure they won't fix any bugs anytime soon.

The entire game is pretty annoying to me anymore. Every time I think about getting on for a few minutes I just get this feeling of BLAH immediately and don't bother.

An easier quick fix, for most things like that, is going to the quick menu and hitting "quick join" and selecting whatever like

"takeover series."

Then, after loading (usually takeover series loads pretty fast), you hit "quit to free roam."

Then you are not actually bothering to go to a new session, still have your same camp/camp stew, etc.

You just have to travel back/wilderness camp and go back, to where you are doing stuff, but I still

find that easier than starting a new session.

I do that when I have a problem like you mention, or when after hitting a bounty poster the bounty never loads

(so you can't interact with other stuff, since it says "can't do that during a mission"), or when I don't get credit

for "drinking own strong moonshine", or when I lose patience trying to load "resupply" with Cripps; on the resupply

with Cripps, one day it surprised the heck out of me when it FINALLY started the resupply mission something like

12 minutes later, of me puttering around in camp and doing stuff.

Doing a story mission also works for that, but those are usually problematic for me (at least the moonshine story

missions are, don't think I EVER get those to load from the moonshine shack.)

So, apparently a new trick is out there.

I went to visit the fort north of Valentine (I don't recall the name... Mercer?).  The door was open so I went in to look around.  After a while, for no reason whatsoever, the garrison there starts shooting at me.  Of course, I defended myself, and before long had the place to myself.  I noticed they had cool hats that look like the ones Mounties wear, and being a good Canadian, I rather LIKED it.  So, I swapped it out.  This was last night.

Today, I went there again to see if I could arrange to "borrow" another hat.  This time, however, the garrison was rather... larger.  After killing something like 250 soldiers, I was able to leave with my nice hat.  I'd used ALL my ammunition, so I had to go to Valentine to resupply.  Went into the gun store, and got more ammo.  As I walked across the street to check the bounty board, some jackass runs up and shoots me with his shotgun for no reason at all.  I was in defensive mode, made no difference.

I hit Parley, and respawned, thinking I'd hurry back and get my hat before it despawned.  I ran back, and as I did so, he left the session, ending the Parley.  As I got to the hat outside the Sheriff's office, he reappeared and shot me again.  Apparently, this is a new thing.  Someone Parleys to avoid griefing, and they can just leave and rejoin the session to get around it.

Pretty ticked off, I think I'm about done with this nonsense.  I'll go play ESO or TOR for a while, far fewer puerile assholes taking pleasure in ruining my enjoyment.

Best way to handle those ass-hats is to go defensive fast travel, ride away and fast travel once more! Your player blip don´t have the same range as someone in offensive!

I just wished that reporting people had greater effect!

Lols, I was going to say he should have just got a new session himself after parlay; then I figured out he was saying

he went back to where the hat dropped.

I'm just amazed that the "griefer" bothered to do that? Maybe it was the hat!

Or kick their ass until it gets swollen, rarely i have found skilled griefers, most are either slippery snipers or explosive spammers. And they come in posses, few dare a mano a mano, and when they do it tends to be a nice spectacle.

You do, you just have to pay attention to your cash balance before and after to notice it.  They pay similar to the Land of Opportunity missions.

Not true.

He shot you because you are both playing a game that includes open world PvP.

Look I get it, we should have the option to choose friendly sessions, but we don't.

Best way to handle this is just what you said, quit playing it.

If enough people quit perhaps R* will respond, but as long as people just keep accepting it, it will never change.

Obviously someone has such a sad life... Poor kid probably has real problems dealing with the world outside of video games. I get your frustration, anymore I don't parley. I burn them into the ground until they leave the server.

Lol, yep. Usually they are really bad and rely too much on auto aim, the cards, that and they fail to remember their surroundings. I usually have a ton of good places to hunker down and just keep plugging away at them until they have had enough.

Can't stay connect to a single session for more than 3 to 5 mins. I saw on the Speculation thread that there might have been a player capacity increase in lobbies and I am definitely seeing that. I already did a few fixes, but nothing works. Can't go back to camp, because it will be in the Great Plains and then because of the session switch it will be in Lemoyne (or it will not even be on the map). 🙄

As lobby sizes increase, disconnect rates do as well.

R* doesn't care. All they care about is lobby sizes as large as possible, issues be damned.

No idea if it's been changed, but it used to be super easy to find someone's wilderness camp.

It broadcasts a smoke signal like a random encounter: I rode up to somebody's camp thinking it was a random roadblock one day when I needed it to finish off the 3 for a daily only to find a player crafting at his fire.

I don't know if you can shoot them, that's not my style, but my guess would be that it is possible.

The player wasn't ghosted like someone using a menu usually is.

I suspect that's why they added the smoke plume: to advertise a free kill to grieftards, no other conceivable reason.

That's odd since it's depending on your internet when you're solo.

I know I did get disconnects on occasion if my range extender lost signal for even one second, which it does now and then. Oddly that never happens on any other game I have that requires online like NBA2k.

I never have the problem when I'm hooked directly to the router.

I'm wired right to the router, internet speed is fine.

The in game lighting flickered like it was trying to merge sessions just before it happened each time.

Yes, I experimented once and didn't like the results of running wirelessly--so I stay connected to a router. When I was experiencing DCing errors earlier in my RDO career, it was all Rockstar's screw ups as I played on populated servers.

Solo lobbies, I can't remember ever being DCed as I play wired to my router. (I also play with my controllers wired [w/ USB extension cables] because I play FPS games and I need all the connectivity speed I can get.)

I mentioned it, guess I did not explain it well:

Most of the time, it moves you some distance away!!!! (which would also cause them to lose their target on you, of course.)

So you are on you horse, or are on foot, then you do the menu and select that wilderness camp.

Since the wilderness camp almost always moves you some distance away (unless you were RIGHT on top of where the wilderness camp can be, which would be unusual),

you have plenty of time to then hit "y" on the Xbox one and fast travel to the first place/wherever on the list before they get a bead on you again!

I tried it as a fluke, the first time, when some guys just kept trying to kill me.

It really works quite well, as a quick escape, because from their point of view you "poof" and

instantly travel to wherever the closest wilderness camp can be (where they would have to see you, then retarget you again); of course, it only works if you are

somewhat in the area where a wilderness camp CAN be made. So far, nearly every time I've tried to escape that

way I was in such a place.

Since I'd made one before, near Emerald Ranch in order to turn the dynamite into volatile dynamite and

then go back to the fence in the NE and buy 8 regular dynamite again, I knew that if I traveled somewhat

SW of the Emerald Ranch fence that I'd probably get a wilderness camp to escape two griefers who were trying to kill me.

One of the times, after I got to the wilderness camp, I did then start to hear new shooting and see my horse react somewhat;

however, I was already hitting "fast travel" somewhere and disappearing  ;)  So I have no idea if it makes you invulnerable,

but I'd guess it probably doesn't (which doesn't really matter, since you are just escaping.)

I'm sure Rockstar did not intend the Wilderness Camp to probably be used that way, but I hope they never patch it so it doesn't !!!!

Well, I'm finally over it. Super fun game and all, but the random disconnects demotivate me to want to commit to any activity like legendary bounties. Wasting time actually makes me mad, which is unhealthy. Exactly what is the fault of Rockstar game services? It's nice you take responsibility but I prefer action

The real reason I like legendary bounties is so I can have the map to myself. But with some of them certain animals and collectables don't seem to spawn. I don't know why Rockstar insists on forcing me to play with people, truth is I don't like people for the most part. And I don't know who needs to hear this, but I don't want to play with you. Chasing me and shooting at me is I assume an attempt to socialize, but I'm not your friend and I don't want to be. Just trying to do my dailys before work

And with that said, my streak finally reset, and I feel like I could dig more gold nuggets out of my nose than bothering with these anymore. I have more bitches and moans but not really my problem anymore. It's been real 👊

Yeah. That was the sudden time change issue they said they fixed a while back. Guess they didn't.

I guess your connection has nothing to do with it unless your ISP or electric blinks now and then but that doesn't happen often. There have been days I was getting disconnects frequently but overall that was pretty rare for me. Not sure why some people get it so much while others don't.

One thing that can cause disconnects on PC is something suddenly runs in the background and causes 100% usage of the CPU. That is something I've tested a number of times. Best thing to do is turn off everything that's scheduled to be run or go through the tedious task of changing the scheduled times to times when you aren't using the PC.
