I have four stranger mission givers bugged. Icons on the map forever blacked out. It used to be only two, but one fixed itself. The other has been broken ever since. I get on tonight and now three more are broken. I have a feeling it has to do with logging off while they're all not available, as that was the case when I got off the other night after doing them all in quick session one after the other.

 

But at the moment, the entire east is practically unavailable mission-wise. That's a huge chunk of potential XP gain gone. The lack of bug fixes for this mess of an online is really starting to get on my nerves.

I’m now getting disconnected immediately following a mission, even before I enter a lobby. Been that way for about 3days now

They could easily prevent this by making it so you can do EVERYTHING in a private lobby, but you’ll earn less money than you would in a public session. 

I’d be happy with that.

R* really...ffs... we need solo/private/invite only. I'm not paying money for gold in a game that I cannot even LOAD INTO.

That's me in a nutshell, especially when I'm running out in open with no covers and in close quarter combat. But I stopped spamming snake oil for multi-kill situations because I didn't have any left. But they aren't needed to win.

 

Last night, I bought the special snake oil pamphlet and gathered the recipes needed. When I went to campfire, it showed I couldn't make it... it was locked or something. So I've sent bug report.

How does that work out for ya? Fire arrows are instant kill and dynamites too. Poison won't do much damage, it's only slight extra than normal arrows. And small game arrows are much weaker than normal ones. What sucks is that only 8 of each special arrows allowed.

Imo it's just annoying they didn't let us choose game modes. I guess they did that, so we can give them more feedback about annoying things and not just play enjoyable ones.

1) yup i got it last week, usefull but only if you have dead eye to use (for wich you have to get kills or Snakeoil). But countering OP weapons with OP cards isnt great game design.

I will people from far away further than a rifle really just DE on thief head boom dead plus EWS bonus

Well, hell, now I can’t start the missions and no stranger missions are showing on the map. When I try to start a story mission it’ll either transport me to where the mission begins and I won’t  be able to move, or it’ll stick me in a black loading screen with the revolving chamber at the bottom right and I’ll eventually have to close the application completely. damn damn, double damn!

4th horse full of 3 star pelts and carcasses I've lost to disconnects this week and I've played maybe 3 hours this week. Also lost a few horse loads to griefers as well.

This has only happened to me once. But that one time, where I lost maybe $50 worth of pelts and carcasses has left me with constant paranoia. I'm stopping to check the map at such regular intervals that it's sapping the fun out of hunting.

 

I just finished playing for a couple of hours and the last thing I did was ride, with a fully loaded horse, from the West Grizzlies to Rhodes, via the most convoluted route imaginable, because other players were in Strawberry, Valentine and Blackwater, so I couldn't risk attempting to sell to the butchers in those locations.

 

It was that unenjoyable that I immediately closed the game upon selling to the butcher.

 

The game is crying out for Invite or Friendly lobbies for those of us who want a more chilled experience.

^ I have started to fish more. Don't even really care what I catch as long as it's small enough to store in our satchel.

 

The thing is, I actually enjoy hunting. I'm not the shoot anything that moves type most of the time. I enjoy the methodical nature of slowly tracking animals, finding that 3* animal, lining up a scoped headshot. 

 

But the constant cycle of checking the map while skinning, selecting a route, seeing a blip appear, checking the map again, adjusting the route, seeing another blip, checking the map, sh*t someone is near the butcher, change destination etc etc is so unenjoyable.

Also, it's not really R*s MO.

 

It would be much more R*s style to do something like remove stranger missions from private lobbies. Which, to be completely honest, I wouldn't care about, at all. I don't want to drive a cart, or escort a cart, or reclaim a cart. I basically want to have f*ck all to do with slow a$$ carts. I also don't have any desire to deliver letters or kill a random player.

 

So yeah, I'd trade off not being able to do stranger missions with being able to hunt, fish and d*ck around, either alone or with friends, in peace.

i think we should get at least another update of some kind before end of the month or and update on what we can looking forward to. I mean it is christmas  after all we need something.

I think my biggest complaints about Online right now is the number of things locked behind rank and the lack of anything interesting to do in order to get that rank up.

 

Just the idea that I'm somehow not "good enough" yet to buy a damn fishing rod annoys the hell out of me. I don't really see the point in grinding away at mundane fetch quests just so I can participate in an activity that I can already do anytime I want to in single player.

The high level unlock thing is being used more and more by games to add longevity to game but it I think it has to many negatives not enough positives. Right now sure you do the traditional grind missions showdowns buckles or you can do what these 100+ people do exploit, and because things are high ranked locked it encourages people to exploit and find exploits. Saw some people earlier doing the invisibility glitch in free roam where your basically ghosted to other players, they were doing stranger missions so no one would mess with them.

The thing is if you're going to have a level system like that, then you need to have enough content for players to get to those levels without feeling like they're grinding. RDO does not have enough content for a leveling system this slow that has unlocks all the way up to 99. They've basically created an MMO that runs out of content after the first and only questline.

The orange team has an unfair advantage as they spawn at territory A and also can takeover B without resistance as everyone else spawns far away and usually has to fight their way to A and B before even beginnging to te able to take them over.

You really need to miss a thumb to lose as the orange team in this mode.

I've been saying this to some players online. This design can also royally screw the yellow and the mint team(not on this map, but they appear in gameplay as a team choice). When playing as the yellow, your spawn is west of E and south of C. While the purple is only slightly south of E. In practice around 85% the Yellow team is forced into a skirmish with the purple team and if the purple team is at least average they will keep yellow in that bottom left corner while at LEAST holding E, but during this time they can grasp D with no problems. The same yellow team also has the mint team north that spawns on the other side of C where the mint team will brush against the orange, and will most likely lose if the orange team just sits after taking A and B(even the distance between the two is within shooting distance for the orange team, when I was on the orange team I was able to cap B and pick off invaders on A from the B area. So the mint and yellow teams are most likely are going to clash for C. Now I've seen yellow teams good enough to take D and C, but holding those 2 points are harder, because in defending them you have more sides to watch(North, Southeast, Northeast, South, and East(Heavy traffic from purple team and orange team trying to take opposite sides)) but holding A and B you are practically in a corner.

Firstly, I'm not saying it's stupid.

 

It's just that money isn't the issue in RDO. I agree, R* don't want us to make it too quickly, but R* haven't made cash the focus of the grind in RDO.

 

XP and Gold Bars are what R* have focused on and a private lobby would already naturally restrict the amount you can earn of both.

Putting my PS4 into DMZ mode in my router fixed it imidiately.

I did’t really want to play it solo before griefers started showing up in my lobbies. First few days of beta were the best. Noone killed me in my back especially when I was fishing. People came by and waved at me.
