Ya games are supposed to go up by 10 dollars (You can thank 2K/T2 who is a publisher for this game, setting the bar for starting price of the NBA2K1 next-gen) Now more companies are foaming at the mouth that they want to do it even though they make billions off microtransactions with lies and excuses for why it needs to be increased. So it'll be very bad for people with a worse dollar pretty much 100 dollars for me and most games these days are broken or drip fed abandoned live services. I'm holding off buying consoles for awhile anyway with next gen, sometimes they release with no games available or buggy console version that get replaced by better revisions.

When that happens to me, I drop one of the Legendary Animal Pheromones and the area where the animal is becomes highlighted. Some days, the naturalist challenge is to locate animals using those pheromones. On those days when I see the question mark, I hop off my horse, drop a pheromone, I get credit for the challenge on the screen and the animal's area becomes highlighted.

So... fancy legendary white bison (Wayan?) up north... Impossible to kill?  Had the drop on him and his three buddies, so I put a Rolling Block Express round RIGHT into the red dot in his head.  He shrugged it off, and started running away.  My horse immediately dumped me on the ground, and the three regular bison ran over and knocked me down every time I tried to stand up... again and again and again and again.  Simply impossible to even TRY to run after the legendary bison, which I was forced to do on FOOT because the game makes my horse drop me every time I mount up.  Of course, it got away.

 

Anyone else ever come across it?  Seems impossible to kill as near as I can tell.

Quick update: took the Breton into the swamps, rode over a bridge not that near an alligator, and still got bucked off. Conclusion: Breton + croc = catapult.

 

Oh, and then I spotted the legendary Teca Gator - but my Breton had run a frigging mile, and when I whistled for it, it'd get near the gator from before, and run off again.  Swapped to my Shire, whistled for him, and had a giggle watching the map as he slalomed through half a dozen alligators without issue (just red blip after red blip...). And then on top of that, he held firm while I tranquilised the Teca - score!

 

Conclusion: Shire is my best hunting horse - also great for outrunning wolves without panicking. And yet, weirdly, the Breton might be marginally better for combat - I've used it for shootouts and it's been fine, but I got in an ambush while using the Shire, and after one stray shot, it bucked me and bolted. Guess that makes sense for the Breton, what with it being the Bounty Hunter exclusive horse - it's used to gunfire, but not getting nibbled by beasties. Meanwhile, the Shire is a steadfast workhorse, but it's nevertheless not a war horse.

 

 

Speaking of which, anyone got any experience with the actual war horses? Some guides say the Ardennes is good for combat, and the Andalusian for hunting, but I'm not sure if it's worth adding one to my stable, instead of sticking with treating the Breton as a combat-first horse, and the Shire as a default for predator tracking (and keeping my stable fees down... ).

His 3 buddies can be auto aimed at and disposed of very easily. It's just mounting up again and go after the legendary bison, shooting him multiple times till he dies. Ran into him yesterday and didn't have much trouble getting the kill. In fact, the only trouble was my dumb horse.

Bretons are a lot better around gunfire. Not too good around predators.

 

I have a Kladruber for hunting. It's pretty calm and hasn't thrown me even with 3 wolves at it's feet. It will throw me occassionally when I allow predators to get behind it, especially cougars, but it usually does good as long as I keep the predators to the side or in front. However, it is not so good around gunfire.

I haven't tried to kill it yet but I was able to sedate it. I got enough sedative in it pretty fast and was able to take out the others while I was waiting for the legendary to drop. Next time I run across it I'm going for the kill so I'll see what strategy I use then. Maybe go for the 3 bison before the legendary?

Dont use sniper rifles to hunt legendaries unless you are "the shooter tv series protagonist" incarnated in this 19 century videogame... because youll get either killed or your prey will go off. Use shotguns and or  normal rifles and shoot the sh*t out of them.

I've had others but got rid of them. The only other I have now is the black Arabian but it's afraid of it's own shadow. I was up at Sadie's once and the Arabian sensed a snake in Tumbleweed I guess cuz it ran off when I was coming out of Sadie's barn.

I was hunting near Emerald Ranch and, out of the blue, was dragged into that obnoxious "rescue the moonshine buyer" mission. Ok, lets cross the map to free the guy. After killing all the agents, I was prompted to go to the buyer. The buyer simply refused to interact. Mission timed out with me right beside the idiot. "You will not be able to sell for some time". Nice.

Bugs apart, I like moonshine's content. But It would be awesome if there was a way to turn the role off, like bikers in GTO. Damn, it's so invasive. If I want a bootleg mission I talk to the old lady, let me free roam in peace, for God sake!

True, my bay Andalusian, at level 2 bonding was far more brave than my 2nd lvl Criollo at max bonding. I own two Turks and my bay is probably the second bravest horse I own, next to that Andalusian. The golden bay one, she's more skittish. I have heard many people complain about the silver gray Turk being hard to handle, I'll probably buy him/her but not until I get more gold rounded up.

I tried that event a few times, but got tired of the idiots throwing dynamite at me before the hunt even began. Spawn in, boom! It seems like a fun thing to do, but of course players find a way to ruin it.

I just wait the timer out now, if you join later most of those no-lifers that know where the eggs spawn have already joined up and are in sessions. I do the same with Salvage, getting in a lobby with only 3/4 people = more collectibles for YOU rather than coming out with four or five items total

 

I do agree though, the FR events need more rarity. Why have a set timer for each day? Why not rotate? That way somebody isn't stuck playing while say.... Wildlife Photography, Fishing, (What's the name of the sh*tty PvP Bounty Hunter one again?), or King of the Castle is playing every single f*cking day!

 

Plus Trade Route only happens like once a day while the annoying sh*t happens multiple times!

 

Oh yeah, and the fact Moonshiner didn't get a single role I'm still miffed about... but hey, at least that was literally the EASIEST role to max out! Naturalist beat Bounty Hunter on being a pain in the f*cking ass, at least Bounty Hunter was FUN!

They won't. They run Outlaw passes simultaneously, we'd be on Outlaw Pass.... 5/6 I'd say, assuming NG versions even happen. 4 would be in the December update

 

I'd be pissed if they started another Outlaw Pass right away, exclusively to NG/PC as a middle finger to the CG fans. I hope they give them a bit of time before starting one exclusive to the NG systems

Yeah, that seems to be the pattern: if something's a good war horse, it'll be fine with gunfire, but not necessarily predators. And a work/draft horse that doesn't spook easily nevertheless doesn't cope under the stress of gunfire.

 

I feel that's probably a balance measure, in order that no one horse type wins out overall - same as how things that are really nimble and great for getting around tend to be skittish as hell in general.

Well, that's the same as above: the Turkoman for instance is categorised as a war horse, and mine is great for shootouts (although if I dismount and shooting starts on foot, it'll back off to a safe distance, where other horses like my Ultimate Edition Thoroughbred might just stay put), but not so good for hunting. It's something I've only really noticed since doing Naturalist stuff and dealing with animals more often - before then, I was using gold Turkoman almost exclusively, and mainly doing bounties - and again, being a typical war horse in temperament (but with the build/speed more like a race horse), it was really good for getting across the map quickly, and delivering bounties while shrugging off shots from pursuers.

I went off a cliff yesterday because instead of dismounting as I was trying to do I had to put away a rifle first, because obviously that takes precedence over everything else.

 

My blood boiled just by reading this. Absolutely hate that annoying sh*t. Countless animals I was chasing escaped due to that, or at least I lost the opportunity for the perfect shot and ended up with a 1 star sh*t instead.

Ya that sheathing is super bad online It gets me in trouble from NPCs all the time too saying I have my gun out then going ape sh*t. I could suffer it on single player but with what's online it's get's ridiculous but they most likely built online off the initial game as fast as possible, these quality of life things they barely seem to bother with. They toted they made eating meat available from the wheel and they listened to demands of players, acted as if it was the best thing ever?

 

Edit: Just had two things happen that I had happen many times before that I forgot to mention. I tried to pick plants on my horse except kept fumbling with guns lol, and I also jumped off my horse in Rhodes getting collectables and because my character tried to sheathe while I was hopping off I had my shotgun out. Guess we all have Gun Holster Disease Or something. How do you explain that to the locals? "Why you have yer gun out?" BECAUSE I HAVE A CONDITION!

I had that thought, but it wouldn't have worked.  If I shot the three regular bison, my steed would immediately dump me after the first shot, and the white one would have run away.  NO way to catch it on foot.

Something odd has been happening when I join showdowns from free roaming.(the screen below the join different state example feature shootout, elimination

The 1st match(this happened 3 time at first match) I was thinking odd can't auto aim.,,,.and they seem to me unable to target me..)i thought maybe I had joined the free aim lobby- But No

 

I then saw I  was still in Defensive mode..

the next match would put me back in offensive..lol

 

so now i switch to offensive before joining showdowns

It was the same before the naturalist update.... People learned really fast where there was on the map..... Reason why I don´t do that one unless it as daily to join a free mode event....

Lol I dunno man these cougars I think would run circles around ya probably tear that plate off and the gun with it. Maybe even they'd rip the tires and it'd fall over. I think we need to bring this to some Mayors and get some funding raised to design a tank around your design. Think like we're in Westworld surrounded by killer robot animals lol. I have 2500+ gold bars and nothing to buy. I don't care about clothing I never wear. 15 gold bars is small pocket change. I drop 15 gb on a shack theme and I get some useless sh*t along with it.

Absinthe is at Quaker's Cove today, thought I'd use the bottle for a Poison Poppy batch and I'm currently AFK at camp waiting for the buyer list to refresh, again, because of this exact issue.

 

I'm not selling to that cheap b*tch Bert and I've already waited too long to give up on the half gold bar, so it looks like I'm in for a long night.
