Nothing, it did absolutely nothing for me. 😉

Guess it could be a fun little bit of stress relief, and to be able to control the movements of the animals to see just how nice they are animated was a neat thing as well.

But there was really nothing much to it to be honest.

If it were more like the peyote plants in GTA it might be more entertaining, but we are stuck in one small area and don't have time to do much except run around and harass the local wildlife.

Oh dear, that is going to take some time. Deer scat only goes so far. 😁

You learn something every day, thanks!

Interesting, will give that a shot for sure.

And is that the chest on the bottom or top floor?

Also, do you have something like this for Panthers and Moose?

I currently have 8 Panther samples on me, but no Florida samples. I haven't focused on samples much, but whenever I'm near a Panther spawn I check it out and for some reason it's almost always the regular panther for me.

I think of the last 10 Panthers I found, only 1 was a Florida one.

Same with the moose, mostly the Bull one although it's not as bad as with the panthers.

I use the chest on the bottom floor, near that back door. I put the horse back behind there, too, away from the animals.

I kind of decided that sampling isn't something I really want to do but I am going to do Farmland. I'll probably do those until the progress is locked. They're the easiest to me and I guess that's why they pay the least. I tend to do this when I get in the mood to watch an old Western. I put the movie on a smaller TV and just grind out those animal samples.

I get the sheep and pigs from Valentine, kind of near the butcher area. You can go back and forth and the pens will automatically refill (don't forget I'm in a solo). The goats I get from Emerald Ranch whenever I pass thru. My biggest issue is staying in the good graces of Harriet because I like to keep those sedatives topped off. I create my own in a pinch but Harriet is the best source to me. I do sedate skunks, certain rabbits and wolves because I use them to create different items. I also grab legendary samples when they pop up. Doing a LD delivery almost guarantees a legendary encounter.

To my disappointment, I did that wolfman bounty thinking I'd go there and get filled with wolf samples but I didn't get the option to sample them after I sedated them. I guess I'll try that at least one more time to make sure something wasn't glitched when I tried it the first time.

You can't skin the wolves in that bounty, so I doubt you can sample them. Thanks for the info!

I hope it works for me too, but since I already have trouble spawning more than 2 cows, I'm not sure. But will try.

Especially in private lobbies that you mentioned, I have no idea why cows aren't spawning for you. In regular lobbies, I have spawn issues but when private, everything spawns for me with no problems.

I hate riding to a farm and only see 2-3 cows, no bull, no ox. How can this happen in private lobbies?

All you need to do is go inside the farm house and come back out and all the animals have spawned in.

For my main account I have found Hereford Bulls mostly in Hill Haven Ranch, but my secondary has gotten it in Carmody Dell too.

My nemesis is Hereford Bull, just can't seem to get that to spawn, maybe once a week.

But that is by checking once in a while while passing by. Haven't tried the respawning of them, have to try that sometime

Was this recently? If so, I consider myself fortunate--I very rarely see griefers anymore (so nice!) and even running into other players is pretty rare.

One thing that really needs to be fixed is getting a wanted level just for trying to defend myself. If an NPC gets ticked off and shoots me first, and I defend myself in any way, the law always comes after me--not the freaking NPC that shot first.

Get it right, R*. It works well in GTA Online, it can work in RDO too.

I haven't done trade route for a while, and when it popped up I was up for it *sigh* Won't be doing that one again.

I'm not sure how long it's been going for, I haven't done trade route in a while..Till earlier.

I agree with the whole NPC shooting first a few days ago I was looking for a collectable in a saloon and an NPC kept walking into me then he pulled out a gun and started shooting, I was running around seeing if a lawman would take care of him...Nothing, if anything they were looking at me like "Yea...this is more of a your problem buddy" haha

The rescue the moonshine buyer mission can f*ck off any time!

Twice in a row now it's broken: kill all the enemies, go to the buyer and they're just cowering somewhere.

I just remembered today's B&M:

my regular lasso is back in my weapon wheel, also some other stuff I don't use.

I'll have to put all that crap back in the box...again!

That reminds me--where/how do you stash weapons you don't want in your weapon wheel?

I thought there was a gun locker that came with your camp, but I didn't see anything at my camp last I checked?

You have to buy the gun locker.

(and it didn't let me put the old lasso in there, it didn't even show up on the list when the gun locker was open)

It sits with the wardrobe box on the left side of the front of the tent.

You can see the two boxes there just behind my character on the left.

I thought it was like all R* raids where you have to have full product sitting for a certain amount of time, but others have said they have been raided with much less than full, so maybe it's just based on having ANY product while the timer runs, so eventually it's inevitable.

You can just switch sessions to avoid the sh*tty mission, but you won't be able to sell shine until another timer runs out.

I tried the trick to start your posse (which apparently works to cancel a camp raid) but I didn't even get the option, it was greyed out after the rescue mission started.

I don't normally do a sale for either camp or shack except for dailies, mainly because I don't want to have to wait to do a daily while it produces, I find it more efficient to save things for the next day's dailies if I don't need them done today, same for resupply missions, etc.

Also I don't really need the money so I don't grind anything any more.

I find the game much more enjoyable taken at my own pace rather than constantly being on R*'s timer.

If the buyer is tied up on a horse, leave him tied up and stow him on yours. The drop off point will be triggered and you can escort him, tied up and all, on the back of your horse. When you are at the drop off spot, remove the buyer from your horse and cut him free there. Job done.

Either they did it in purpose or they yet again f*cked up something but this time the result wasn't that bad. I believe the latter and wouldn't be surprised if they fix it in the future.

Loading into session, spawn in camp.

Immediately get bad honor for griefing, defensive disabled and hostility increased.

Wtf?? What did I do?? Lol.

Don't see any players near me, my camp flag still raised.

Good to know!

You can't really tell from the pics, but there was a train right there, and this one was just cowering in a corner, she wouldn't respond at all.

I threw 4 fire bottles an 8 dynamite and she didn't even have the courtesy to croak and end the mission.

Have to trample them. Annoying bug, happens with rescue encounters too.

I've had this mission pop up twice this week but before that I'd never come across it before. I wonder if it's connected to the lobbies being less populated?

I've also never had my camp raided but then again I do tend to sell as soon as I hit 100 goods.

Accidentally killed a legendary animal yesterday - one of the cougars, near Blackwater. Got sight of it just wandering around, tried to sight it, but it spooked my horse*, mauled me to death, and I was told I'd lost it. But I caught the trail of it a minute or so later (so for what it's worth, it doesn't look like they despawn immediately), got my varmint rifle ready, and started shooting at it - and it just wouldn't go down. Kept just shooting, and shooting, and...

...then it started limping, because it wasn't some bug stopping it from being sedated: in my haste, I'd forgotten to switch to sedative rounds. :*( I tried to make up for the mistake, but at that point, sedatives just finished it off - so the best I could do then was sell it to the butcher and learn that lesson the hard way.

*oh, and another lesson learned: I'd switched back to my Turkoman for speed, but all that did was remind me just how solid my Breton is for tracking animals. Turkoman is great for getting around quickly, and I'd got it while mainly doing things like collector maps - but that just made me forget how skittish it is, and using it for trying to circle-strafe predators is a no-no... :turn:

It's a Moonshiner thing in the game since day one of Moonshiners update. It spawned in the first few days and then broke. Now with low pop lobbies, they pop up again, but don't work every time.

Camp raids happen very rarely for me. All they try to take is supplies, not goods. I've had my camp dog come and get me two or three times over the year.

I've had 3 camp raids, they're easy to deal with.

I've had at least 5 shine raids, and they're always a pain in the backside even when they work: short timer, many tough enemies (1 revenuer took more a bunch of body shots and 2 or 3 revolver headshots to take down), long distance to ride, and it often doesn't work properly.

With the camp raid you finish at the camp and it has a fast travel, with the shine raid you end up who knows where and there very well may be no fast travel nearby to resume what you were doing before being interrupted.

Artificial interruptions are not good gameplay, they're just annoying, that's why I hate raids.

But R* loves 'em.

I've had a few recently, they can be a real pain in the ass. The worst was after I'd just fast travelled to my shack (while it was still in the Grizzlies) to start a sale and the rescue buyer mission started, with the buyer in Lemoyne.

If it hadn't been for the make over $200 daily I'd have closed the game down, bit it was around 1am and I didn't want to wait another 48 minutes or pass up on the .5gb, so I reluctantly rescued the buyer and got the sale done.

Is a rescue the buyer mission a shine raid? In that case, I've had my fair share. They can indeed be a pain in the ass. My furthest one was up near Armadillo, while I was somewhere in the Heartlands one day. I didn't bother with it much, because of the distance.

It's the shine raid equivalent, I think. Of you don't do it or fail you lose that batch, or something.
