Animals were plentiful today...as were cheaters, it's the weekend after all  .

 

I got my owl for daily plucking after much trolling the skies...it's such a relief afterwards to not have to keep scanning for them.

Later on while heading over to my shack to finish the bootlegger mission daily I spotted an owl, shot it and hooked it on my horse.

I had seen a few other players around Valentine so I thought I'd try to find one to give them the extra owl, I know well enough how hard it is to find and I didn't want it to go to waste.

 

As I was riding along the tracks north of Heartland Overflow my horse kind of tripped a little, I looked to see what it was and there was nothing unusual there.

A few seconds later my horse was killed and I was falling under the map.

Nice job, cheaters, you screwed someone else out of an owl, who knows it could have been yours, but no.

 

Later I loaded back in to finish the missions off and it was a torrential downpour which lasted until I was done.

I even did Master Archer in between bounties and it rained rained rained during that, and continued after, so I assume the cheater was in Master Archer with me.

 

edit: I forgot to add that usually when these thunder storms are going on, when I get back to my camp my white flag is always lowered, sometimes I can't raise it. Time to switch sessions or just quit for the day.

Why is it the same button that opens the map (hold Options) that also opens Invites to free roam events?

 

Don’t know how many times I’ve accidentally joined them when all I wanted was to look at the map..

I spend most of my time in/around Bayou NWA, whenever you need an owl, roam there for a bit and it wont take long to find one.

Change it in the controls option menu.

HOLDING the button activates the content of the game that deals with the last system message you received. Could be anything...

The bayou is my usual go to spot for owls, I do see them regularly west of Emerald as well, but bayou is the best spot.

Man, I hate it when Cripps sends me to rob a train.  The damn thing is nearly impossible to get ON, either because the thing is constantly going over bridges where there's no room to get alongside, or else because the seven billion bad guys ON the train all massacre you while you're trying to get alongside.  Then, if you are forced to follow it to its destination, you not only have to deal with the bad guys, but the COPS will all attack you too.

 

Pain in the backside.

Ok, what the hell.

 

Three days to make a batch of strong moonshine, using the last of my rare materials.  Why so long?  Well, I'm back at work, so I can't stay online for hours waiting for the thing to brew.

Anyway, so I start the delivery, following the yellow path.  It drives me to the roadblock, and they wave me through.  Sweet, I can just calmly drive to the shack (up north, near the tracks and the strange dome towered building).  About 1 minute away, I still have 7 minutes left to deliver the batch, it says the mission is over, my "posse abandoned the mission."  I was still on the yellow route.  I was within a minute of the destination.  What the HELL.

 

I should be able to go back and restart, yes?  The moonshine is undamaged, I shouldn't lose the batch....

 

 

Nope.  Parked the full wagon outside the shack, but the whole batch has been lost.  Somehow.  Three days wasted.  $250 batch that can't be replaced wasted.  Ready to punch the monitor.

This was the same as the times I tried to join Railroad Baron.

Just completely unmanageable.

Try and loop around ahead so the rabble at the back won't be able to get you they say...not in the mountains through Bacchus Stn.....

Thought I'd do some bounties while waiting for my last batch of shine to finish to get the stupid distance daily done.

Use some of the few tracking arrows I have (accidentally used them up during Master Archer, then can hardly find any skunks or muskrats to replenish them) and with a clear shot, the arrow bounces off the side of a building instead.

6 bounties, 4 of them were 'wait for the target' jobs, 3 failed because the target fled so fast I couldn't get my horse to come to me before they escaped.

The last one (to get the third hogtie daily) didn't even start, there were riderless NPC horses riding around St.Denis are everywhere as if they had riders, there was weird sh*t going on, so I just said f*ck it and gave up.

Why do I bother?

Valentine to me is almost always swarming with those angry low rank hornets and sometimes I just want to mind my own business instead of swatting swarms of low-rank flies

Try somewhere else, I'm mostly at the east side of the map, bayou, emerald ranch and roanoke, the last time I had an encounter was a month+ ago, if you stay too much in St Denis eventually you find one there, but its way less than Valentine indeed, whenever I want to do an assassination misson I go to the boy in Valentine because the chance of some scrub being around is high lol.

Sign in, select your platform, PC I assume and you should get the option for Live Chat. For some reason its hidden away but you can find it. Explain what happened and they will likely refund you, explain that it was a bonus week as well so the outcome would have been more. If they don't just keep connecting to different Agents until they do.

Even if the next update contains everything I could possibly want, I honestly don't give a f*ck anymore about the game due to the way they're treating us.

Came back to the game after a number of months.
One of my last posts in this thread was in January, complaining about how you only spawn with 1 pistol in PVE and PVP missions, essentially crippling someone with gunslinger's choice until you die.
Good to see that its still a thing.

Whoever the brain donor is that designed the shine buyer rescue "missions" (AKA RDO business raids courtesy of the brilliant GTA design philosophy) needs to be sent to the bottom of the ocean with some concrete shoes.

I was picking up some collectibles in Rhodes, the messgae comes up to fast travel to the shack to start the mission.

My shack is north of Emerald...the buyer is in Strawberry! FFS, and the timer has already started...9 minutes.

By the time I get to Strawberry, there is 2:33 left.

Kill the rev. agents, take the buyer off their horse, cut him loose, call my horse, now there's less than 1:30 left.

When I stop to see where the mission is sending me (because I don't recognize Keane's Saloon)

^Reminds me a good one I had a few days ago.

 

So I was selling trader sh*t to the river shack (Brittlebrush Trawl) in Hennigan's Stead, and the wagon gets destroyed (my fault, that's it). Location is not far away, so not much problem carrying 4 bags there on my own....... WAIT A MINUTE, there's only 3 where the wagon got wrecked, despite the radar showing 4 bag icons. Where in blue hell is the 4th one?

Yeah, I had the same thing happen.  My camp was on the top of the hill next to Tumbleweed (whoever decided that should be a camp site needs a kick).  There was literally no way to get the wagon down, so when I sloooowly made my way over the shallowest part of the incline, it crashed and dropped 2 bags there, one in Armadillo, one in Valentine, and bad guys appeared to run away with one.

The very first thing I did after that initial sale was move the camp, horrible spot, even for the small wagon.

 It seems to me that the timers are purposefully set to make us rush the free roam missions because I don't remember story missions having a timer right? They could simply patch the timers to be off when you get to the objective (npc bounty, buyer, etc). The way it is currently  is really annoying and makes ppl less willing to do it again, its so frustating to play on the rush. I have a friend that just can't stand playing RDO because of this, he still prefers GTAO (funny this being a faster paced game) because the timers there fits more the reality making you play on a more relaxed way.

R* logic, go figure, we should make some LOUD noise here to make them change it, it is a QoL for everyone.

I feel you there, that camp location is horrible. Although you can get a wagon in&out of the hill using the shallow incline around this circle (I can't pinpoint the exact location) just east of the church:

That's the exact spot I tried to go down, slowly.  What happened was it jack-knifed vertically, so the wheels weren't touching the ground, which broke the horse off.  Wagon destroyed.

Just use cinematic mode and your wagon will drive itself. After you clear those tricky spots switch back to manual drive.
