I AFK Most Wanted and Hostile Territory as I just get endlessly spawn killed anyways

 

Name your Weapon is at least enjoyable by yourself, apart from Tall Trees as it's hard locating people before you get shot!

Right? I was hunting in the middle of a player empty area and all the sudden this dot just pops up and of course I lock on and shoot them by accident. Why would they spawn in the middle of a field right next to me out of all places to spawn for ffs????

The first (these are both from Highly Illegal and Highly Immoral) apparantly thought it was VERY important for him to carry Montez personally to the Marshal, so while I was on my way to deliver him, he rammed his horse into mine for the sole purpose of knocking Montez off which led to my horse needing to be revived. When I went and picked Montez back up, he had some kind of quiet hissy fit and tried to lasso me until I put Montez back on my horse, which he then stole. The other time was just as we were starting up, the leader started immediately shooting in the direction of me and another player who went toward Van Horn before the camp. I just assumed the four of us could devide and conquer, the beginning of the mission isn’t that hard. He just decided to leave. The fourth guy must’ve been his buddy because he left to. 

 

My question is: are we not playing a game? What’s the deal with all these petty bros?

I only posse up with people I know. If you are on PS4 you can posse up with me and my friends sometime.

So before I conclude I'm losing my mind...   Are we basically in "Lamar Missions" mode when it comes to forced matchmaking in the Story missions at this point?  And by that I mean, is there no reliable way to prevent random's from joining Story sessions that I start with my friend?  

 

When I restart a Story mission (from Progress menu), there is the option to Start Mission or Start Matchmaking. Intuitively you'd think that by selecting to Start Mission you'd bypass any 'random' matchmaking and just jump into the mission with your Posse. Yet no matter how fast we 'Ready Up', invariably 1 or 2 more people join in before the mission actually starts. There is a setting on the 'Ready up' screen called Enable/Disable matchmaking...(should be a check box instead, less confusion, but anyway).  But I get people joining in no matter what it's set to it seems.

 

I know R* has a severe mental block in their design philosophy when it comes to forced 'random' matchmaking/grouping in their Online modes. They think gamers who really just want to play online video games *with friends* actually don't. We really want to play with complete strangers and have a lesser play experience while doing it.  It took a few weeks/months of patches in GTA before Invite Only sessions and Closed Matchmaking actually worked reliably. And of course years later they still released the Lamar/Benny's update that shot that all to hell by forcing everyone to group with strangers regardless of session type, matchmaking settings, etc. 

 

So maybe I'm just doing it wrong, but wanted to see what others experiences are before chucking it up to R* logic once again...

When you see randoms joining in lobby screen, hold B to back out to free roam. Click bring your posse to free roam as well. Then just go in mission marker to bypass lobby screen and start mission

Got a treasure map for rank 20. Found it. Just as I was opening the chest got kicked out because of the notorious error 20060001.came back. My treasure map was gone with no icon on the map as if I completed it and no money in my pockets. Brilliant.

That's the only mode i play + Hostile Territory sometimes. When i see Name your weapon and other boring ones, i just quit to free roam. But if i somehow stay in them, i always dislike them when they're done. 

 

This game needs Bag Matches badly, Valentine is perfect for classic Hold Your Own. And more town oriented Gang Matches.

The pamphlets REALLY need reduced in price.

Sure you have the 'chance' at getting them from treasure, but I haven't in the 5 I've done! Just as I've not found a map in the 10 gang hideouts I've done!

Never got mine either. I didn't go as hard as you for it, I ended up buying the real thing from the R* warehouse out of frustration and gave up lol.

 

R* definitely won that battle.

Which pamphlets? I find some are overpowered or has recipe that can be farmed easily for advantage that lasts a lifetime. Those like dynamite arrow, poison arrow, fire arrow, explosive slugs. I'd rather they kept price high. Only people who got high enough level should be able to afford 'em and not paid with gold or even get reduced price.

i don't know what the hell they were thinking, making hostile territories multi team like that, it's a f*ckfest as it is without spawning 50 feet away from two enemy teams. I like the free for all ones

Dynamite arrows are what I want.

They're my favorite weapon. And would be great for when a posse decides to gang up on me

I agree on this, not everything needs to be easy obtainable.

Like those dynamite, fire arrows and explosive slugs are a recipe for a lotta more griefing if that was easy to get at low lvl for low prices.

Griefing would be of the charts.

And i really wish for gunbelts with holsters like Hosea and Mica had in the SP. (cross draw)

 

Im more like a roleplay person then PVP, the mausers are to modern for me and i like revolvers more.

I was with 2 buddies on a gang hideouts as posse leader and can confirm too as I got one too late last week.

I once noticed during a gang-hideout a notification popping up that if you „kill all gang members then the leader will put his arms down“. 

Accidently killed him so I dunno if that has caused not recieving a map. 

Im pretty sure though that I pulled the one map I recieved earlier off of a dead leader. Maybe it‘s just bugged or it‘s extremly uncommon to loot a map

We killed the chap when clearing it. Just shared the bodies to loot, and hazaar, there it was. Rather pleasing for me, lol.
