The Red Dead Online B*tch & Moan Thread

I hate Armadilo is the sick dying town. It’s got a gunsmith and doctor’s building, but they’re both closed up. Armadillo was my favorite town from RDR1 and I was looking forward to revisiting it in this game.... I feel like Tumbleweed should’ve taken place of being the sick dying town, since it becomes a ghost town anyways by RDR1. Instead Tumbleweed has way too many lawmen who shoot at you for being near them. It just sucks knowing there’s no gunsmiths in between TumbleWeed to Valentine.

MacFarlane’s Ranch should at least have a stable. I get the family moved out and there’s no stores,  but what about all their livestock? It just feels so empty. The train even stops at MacFarlanes so it would’ve been nice to have a post office there too.

Oh and Blackwater needs a gunsmith and the rail station too! How that town got so big without either confuses me. I think the post office there even sells ‘tickets’ but I don’t know for what...

Word.....I woke up early this morning and found myself in a lobby with around 8 to 12 people scattered all over the world and once I seen a family of Elks hop a stream I was like "yup......its time to break out the hunting wagon" so I can fill  the material meter for Cripps to the brim so Cripps could have something to work with. By the time I finished that, just 30 minutes later the lobby was filled up and the animals were gone. I tell ya man when you see animals start to stack up and nobody is hardly in your lobby, then thats when its time to drop everything if you can and make sure Cripps is to the max on materials.

On top of that I maxxed out the upgrades for the mash and I'm able to sell my Moonshine at a higher price. So far the highest I've seen is $247 and some change for a delivery. I did about 3 of those this morning and a trader delivery for $500 and once I was done with all that the animals disappeared again, but I'm good for sometime. These roles are all pretty simple, but R* makes them way harder than they should be with bugs and glitches.

This game is an absolute f*cking mess. I've had to close it off like 7 times in less than an hour due to endless loading screens.

Honestly laughable how much stuff R* f*cked over.

It seriously burns off all the joy I can find in this game. Endless reloading screens, no way to get some trading going, sell missions failing due to posse bla bla sh*t, endless loading screens again, no animals to see in miles wide (and beyond). This game should be fun, with the new roles, have stuff to do instead of running around killing everything that moves and/or has a name sign above their heads. Making money is not even much of an incentive anymore, since most new clothes are not interesting or era true at all.

Immersion went down the drain from here to Brazil. What an awful mess!

Just to add some more, my shack is gone from the map. Can't fast travel to it, not ride towards it, it's gone. No icon on the map anywhere.

I'll rank up the Outlaw Pass with collecting and that's it.

Sorry, but having an opinion doesn't make it valid. Sure, it's his opinion, but I'll definitely assert that it is invalid.

And I and many other people don't have any respect for people who didn't beat the RDR2 single player before moving to online. That's just stupid.

But what's insulting most here is one basic truth:

Red Dead Redemption 2 Online is absolute dogsh*t compared to Red Dead Redemption 2 Story (single player), and I'm not being unreasonable to say that anybody who argues otherwise has no idea what they're talking about.
 Your bully men
It takes a special kind of willful braindead ignorance to buy Red Dead 2 and NOT play single player. "

I mean.... I'm just going to stop. This is insane. Can't continue without feeling like I'm being trolled by someone intentionally trying to act stupid and piss everyone here off...... so I'm going to assume I'm dealing with a 12 year old or a sociopath and move on and never acknowledge this stupid idea that online is somehow better than single player in any significant way.

The mindset of someone who feels he can judge the validity of another's opinion kind of sets up where we are with this conversation.

Exactly what or who gives you the power to determine if someone else's opinion is valid?

And, just because someone's opinion of any game doesn't align with yours doesn't make it wrong. Your statement of "If it weren't for the strength of RDR2 single player, I'd have zero interest in online" means absolutely nothing to me because it's YOUR opinion, not mine. Even the critics on metacritic reviewed this game across a very wide scale...but, according to you, those who scored it lower posted "invalid" reviews?

Again, given your mindset, I really couldn't care less if you "don't have any respect for people who didn't beat the RDR2 single player before moving to online. That's just stupid." What I'm witnessing here is the same kind of narrowminded, intractable thinking that represents the "it's my way or the highway" kind of thinking. Everyone won't always agree with you. Sorry.

Your bully mentality matches you perfectly with some of the people I avoid when playing this game.

The only way to make them listen is to stop playing massively. Sadly, that's impossible to achieve, but individual voices don't mean much to them. Empty lobbies does.

Frankly, empty lobbies mean alot to most of us.

So, by R* trying to create a world that other players are 100% part of, they have basically ruined the core of the game.  The game is actually interesting riding about with animals working, but currently its pretty bare bones.  I would not mind if animals actually required hunting and finding, but they need to sell/count for more.  As it is, the core of the game is currently broken and until both animals spawns are fixed and camp works there are major problems with the game.  They just need to turn off the merge you into another lobby which is causing the problem.  Maybe its not necessarily causing the problem, but its definitely associated with it.  I am not sure exactly, but free roam is full of animals by yourself as soon as you are moved into another free roam, the animals are gone.

What the f*ck happened? The game wasn't like this before yesterday but now endless loading screens whenever I try to join or change sessions.... and I wouldn't need to do the latter if

A. The game didn't let people NOT in Great Plains have camps there

and B. Animals spawn

Yeah, I agree. Also, the barn is missing, even though Bonnie said her Pa built it when she was a little girl. The entire New Austin area feels a bit rushed and underdeveloped in my opinion. I think R* didn't spend much time on that. Too bad, because I loved New Austin in RDR1, but in RDR2 I never go there because it's too empty.

They screwed up/underdeveloped a lotttttttt of New Austin. Continuity? Who needs it?

I yhink New Austin was mostly packed in because the fans expected it.

I know I did. It felt like the end of a concert where everyone goes "we want more" and the band comes back out to play that one hit that purposely wasn't included in the main setlist.

Just read that you can fix that by changing your facial hair at the barber.

Thanks. Loaded into game and got a haircut notification. Problem solved.

Except this encore is poorly, poorly done. It's pretty, but overall a downgrade from the same map 9 years prior.

Twice now I chose Lemoyne and spawned in New Austin, infinite load times had to kill the app, got on my horse but couldn't move, obviously I lost my mash.  Servers are straight jacked right now.  Got a couple dailies done to keep the streak but I am out for the night.

RDR2 single player story comes off as thoughtless filler that does more harm to RDR1's lore than good. Comes off as if R* put little effort into the single player so they could put all their effort into their cash grab online mode.

I'm starting to think that they arbitrarily reduce all spawns of any kind to combat the instability of the game.

You can get animals to spawn for about 30 minutes but the best way is to do the following:

1. Restart your system.
2. Test your internet connection settings (essentially resets the connection).
3. Start game.
4. Enter free mode directly --- do not spawn in camp or as posse leader.
5. Stay solo once in free mode and do not start a posse.

If you do this, the game will seem like the petting zoo it once was --- until something --- anything shocks the sh*tty PvP server and the game freaks out and then it's lights out on practically all animal spawns until you repeat the process listed above.

I'm not saying this works definitively, but it has helped me make animals spawn that I needed for daily challenges. I figured it out through dumbf*ck process of elimination.

Blood is Thicker than Shine is missing from my replay mission/player progress. Is it like that for everyone or is my sh*t messed up?

I do it all the time and I still suffer from every problem listed here since the update. Camp despawns. No animals. Black loading screen of death. Lose progress on mash for no reason - it's just gone. Lose product from sale that got infinite loading screen. Finish a mission, and can't actually finish it because we yet again see an infinite loading screen. Enter your shack and... it's EMPTY!! No one there. Can't make sh*t. Can't start sh*t. BLACK. INFINITE. LOADING. SCREEN!!! Kills all progress, and wastes way too much time. Play style switching for absolutely no reason again! And to rub salt into the wound, bugs we haven't seen since beta are back. Horse freezing and can't control it, outfits disappearing or changing, killing something like an opossum makes the game think you started an activity, so now you can't do ANYTHING until you switch sessions. Disconnects have not improved one bit. Oh, and did I mention infinite loading screens?

What else ya got?

LOL, this guy. As if resetting the cache isn't the very first thing we all do.

I've tested it myself with problematic friend of mine. We both have deleted (PS4) Profile data and Player data, after this we do not suffer from horse balls/pelts, mission do not start or loading issues, the game feels fixed in all technical aspects. However, it is unless we play only with ourselves together. As I have encountered other random players by myself, my horse got the balls and pelts and stuff, just like if other players were infecting me temporally.

Talk about an opinion.

Its storymode is 20% Cutscene, 50% traveling, and 30% gameplay. What the game does to the character of John Marston is really sad. Sure Arthur is awesome.. but lets be honest. This story is entirely predictable after you have played the first 5 missions. If you played RDR1 you knew the gang was going to end.. and the game makes sure at every turn in RDR2 to remind you that you will be heading for a grim ending regardless of what you do. It is a depressing, predictable story that never really gives the player any kind of hope or something to fight for. But this is the issue with Prequels is it not? When you create a prequel to already established lore the only thing you can really accomplish is to screw it up. They would have been far better served creating an entirely new story with new characters so you could at least be in for a damn surprise or two. But sure.. RDR2's story is a flippin masterpiece.

I din't had a chance to play first game, tho I knew what is going on and how it ends. It doesn't metter if you know that the gang is going to end, it's the jurney, the character development, the choices you make, the gameplay+mechanics and exploring, not the ending that made it great experience for me. Single player it's the best part of this game and always will be. Online is halfbaked half broken cashgrab that should never exist in the state it is. R* should stick to the single players cos that is want they are good at. If somone bought it just for Online, that is fine, to each their own, but you are missing alot, that is all...

Loaded into someone else's camp again, found out you can wash your face in their barrel, drink their beer, and craft at their fire.

They may not appreciate a freeloader hanging around their camp, though.
