The Red Dead Online B*tch & Moan Thread

Needed to bring in a bounty from New Hanover yesterday.  Tried three times to grab a poster, all three times I get the "Your posse abandoned the job" glitch.  Was my first attempt to get a bounty that day, and I'm riding solo.  Okay, it happens.  Today, I go to camp to "Make Superior Quality Stew", did it using the last three big game meats in my satchel, and then the challenge reward didn't trigger.  Next, I go to the stable in St. Denis to change my horse appearance to complete that simple activity, and now the stable activities won't start.  Wtf already?  

 

I get that R* wants to make a few dollars on people buying gold bars (lord knows they need $), but is it really necessary to make me fight the game itself to complete a challenge every frigging day?  So frustrating.  Okay, all done whining.

 

Edit:  Just for super-extra-bonus, I had to switch servers to get the stables to work.  Went back to camp and found the Superior Quality Stew I made 20 minutes earlier was gone.  Thought it was supposed to last three days, maybe you lose it when you change sessions?  Whatever, I'm going back to SP for a while before I break something, lol.

And yesterday, I had to try to start every supply mission at least twice before it would actually begin.

The last time I tried 5 times and it wouldn't launch, so I went off and did some collecting and a couple of treasure maps, came back and my supplies were full.

True. I apologise if I sounded like a dick. I was just fuming thinking I had lost twenty-five Gold. Not a chance I would get that back from R*.

I'm expecting they'll give some bonus gold somewhere down the line as a compensatory gesture, but that's not the point.

It's also our time that's being wasted, not to mention the frustration of having our entertainment ruined time and again.

 

If it just worked, I'm sure that very, very few people would complain about the price.

I'm not touching the shine shack again until it's fixed. Hopefully it won't take years....

They really need to sort out this s**t where your second sidearm vanishes during free roam events. It's very disconcerting, ^ since you still can't preset your ability cards, it takes too long to change once the event starts-

More like wishful thinking. Where was the compensation for camp and animal spawn issues that made the Trader practically unplayable? Oh wait, those issues are still going on lol.

On my secondary account I never cared about the whole second holster thing because I didn't like the looks of it before so I never bought it and made due without it(150+ levels with one revolver).  Then they made it so you could remove it and still duel wield.  Cool, can duel wield without that ugly holster, SO at that point I went and invested in second sets of revolvers, modified them to match my other revolvers and even purchased and fully leveled out the gunslingers choice ability card based on being able to duel wield.  Think they will give me $ back?  AHAHAHAHAHAHA

Thing is, they have done this in GTA when servers sh*t the bed on a big DLC launch day and other issues had made players lives miserable.

They've called it something else, but we all know why it's done. It doesn't actually cost them anything, and it apparently soothes feelings after enough time has passed.

But the bad taste is still there, people's memories aren't all that short.

I rode from Black Water to Annesburg in a 8 player lobby, just doing some collecting. Came back with about 5 items and haven't seen a single animal in between Saint Denis and Annesburg, while still in the same 8 player lobby. If they fixed anything, they fixed us a middle finger.

I'm surprised you didn't notice that. The middle finger pelts sell for alot of money and adds alot of material for the trader role. Way better than animals right now.

Today I actually got a moonshine sell mission that put me in private instead of black screen. Lucky at that because the buyers were gonna reset in 5 minutes before I started the sell.

 

My bitch and moan is that it actually took me 3 hours to get a sell going. First I do a bootlegger mission to reduce mash price. When I go back neither Maggie or the french dude are there. I go away and come back, nope, empty hut.

So I restarted game. Oh hey, mash is 50 dollars again, let's go do a bootlegger mission then. Ok, not risking another bootlegger and don't want to wait for the cooldown so I buy mash for 30, flavor it and go away. When I come back at sell time, there is no product. Mash bar is empty, but no option to buy mash again. Reflavoring doesn't start to produce either, so off we go restarting game again.

 

Oh wait, mash price is up again, let me do a bootlegger mission again.... Then wait 10 minutes before sell to sell right away when it's ready because sellers reset in 5 minutes.

 

But then I managed to finish the sell, yayyyy!

 

Earlier in the day, Cripps resupply mission was to hunt a fox, sigh. Managed to find one by miracle and completed the resupply. But it didn't count for daily challenge and Cripps said status is halted but supplies bar was full.

 

What a mess the game is at right now. I had something else weird happen also but don't even remember it anymore...

Did a moonshiner mission, there was some cut scene at the end. Then the eternal black screen, revolver in corner happened. Turned it off. Happen to anyone else, would I have to redo that mission?

Oh yea having lots of fun with this DLC:

 

1 Moonshine sale dead to the black screen of death. 

1 Trader sale dead to the black screen of death. 

Steel-headed NPCs. 

Steel-headed game, when I can find it. 

Animals spawn when you can't get a camp.

Get a camp to spawn, no animals save for that rare 1* deer you and three other players are fighting over. 

A booze business with so many f-u rules, it's hard as heck to make a decent profit. 

Even when I am able to sell my trader goods it takes 3 times:

1st try, I show up on the wagon YEA! I didn't lose everything again! Only for the destination to disappear like my camp. 

2nd try, black screen of death. 

3rd try, (Luckily my goods weren't eaten) finally get the goods sold. 

 

Really, the only thing I like about this DLC is that marvelous pistol. Now that I mention that I'm sure R* will turn it into a BB gun with the next patch.

Well I was usually just getting the infinite loading screens, but now I got the "Your posse abandoned the job" glitch. At least the errors are mixing it up a bit.

 

On another note, I sent Rockstar a suggestion to start letting us donate horse and human corpses to Cripps. There's no shortage of NPCs trying to crash me out there and I usually kill them all, so we could get some use for them. People don't need to know where the materials came from with my trader business.

Super fun trying to do moonshiner stuff atm. Sale is ready? Infinite loading screen, reboot game, lose the stock. Ok find I'll just run a bootlegger mission and then make some more shine, oh what's that another infinite loading screen and having to reboot the game again? Yeah this is way funner than actually playing the game, I agree.

So the moonshiner business is completely jacked at the moment. My question and concern is for how long though?  R* doesn't fix sh*t quickly.  Absolutely ridiculous if this isn't addressed soon.

In my defense, you had a bug on your face that first time, so I was just trying to help out.  It really got out of hand after that.

I've lost batches of moonshine just because they disappear by themselves. Suddenly, the production is 0/20 and is greyed-out, the option to buy mash is greyed-out, though I can add flavor if I want. It was about to get a full batch when it happened. New session, and all is gone, have to buy mash and start all over again. Not the first time that happened. Waiting 48 minutes + $50 to have nothing because of a bug is annoying as f*ck. Even buying at 50 but with flavor I think is better than the trader role, no dealing with animal spawn, herbs always spawn.

I can tell you this much, this is part of R* support response to both infinite black loading screen and batches disappearing

I think the animals got to Rockstar support before we could, complaining about always getting shot. Rockstar fixed it for them and made them invisible or gave them steel skulls and extra speed, along with secret hiding holes down cliffs. 
Then again, this is Rockstar we're talking about, so their tricks don't work if lobby size = <18 players

Actually, I have met godlike NPCs, who can't be locked on, shot at, painted, etc. I just had the same with some lawmen, couldn't shoot at them at all, but I was able to kill one with some dynamite and it only took 5 (!!!) volatile dynamite to kill him!

Those lawmen must have slow and steady tier 100000 or something.

I wouldn't suprised if this bug soon transfers over to animals too.

New bugs seem to pop up every day or so.

 

What's even worse I have encountered players with this bug, and I know it's not intentional because I encountered a lvl 4 with this and I have left and rejoined that session and the godlike bug was gone.

They still haven't bothered to fix the camp, logged in saw the message Cripps has packed up the camp. So paid to have it set back up. As I moved closer to the camp, Cripp decided to pack up again.

 

But hey at least we've got a more expensive battle pass.

More xp per level(quite awful. If anyone defends that.... do you play other games?), 30 more levels....

And the only prize of note this time is John's outfit(Which you get right away) and the Husky(The dog I want! Unless they ever add a Corgi!)
