I don't know whether that's driven by a surge in new players or by boredom amongst longer term players, possibly a toxic mix of both, but whatever the cause, it doesn't create anything like an environment that I would consider fun.

Hence why I choose Ambarino as my spawn location and try to stay there as much as possible.

I use to spend the majority of my time up there, when collecting came along my game naturally went map wide. 

 

I'd consider reverting back to how I use to play, but between camp not spawning and the unrecorded mass extinction event of 1898, I can't really go back to hunting between Valentine and Adler Ranch.

 

R* have to sort out lobby stability.

Or a cabin. Sitting inside next to a warm fire, sleeping dog, brewing coffee and watching the snow fall outside - perfect.

Can only hope and dream they add this in a future update.

Oh, don't get me wrong. My preference to any of the 2 games is purely based on stability of the game and the option of playing solo.

Some people are... I don't have the words for them.

So, some woman on a donkey(Stranger Event) stole my horse, fair enough, I kill her and take her donkey because, you know, DONKEY! It was saddled and everything, it was awesome!

Anyway, I ride to Valentine because I am doing daily challenges and I need to order some drinks, I ride into town and past a level 18 player with a deer on his horse, let's call him Ted. I hitch the donkey and then Ted shoots the donkey and then shoots at me. Of course I pull out my Carcano and shoot him, killing him instantly. He respawns and calls for his horse, I kill his horse and throw a fire bottle at it to teach him a lesson. He then shoots at me again and again, I kill him and when he respawns I kill him again further cement the point of "Don't mess with me".

I then go into the saloon and get my 5 drinks, and I walk out as I am drinking my last beer and there is Ted, back as a blue dot, I think he may have learned his lesson, but he instantly pulls out a gun and shoots at me again, and I then decide to show him that enough is ENOUGH and shoot him with an explosive round, killing him and his horse in 1 shot.

He comes back and keeps firing at me and I keep killing him. After about 7 or 8 deaths he writes me and tells me to "Go away" and to "F off".

He is bright red at this point and have high hostility while I am still in defensive mode.

I tell him that he attacked me first and second and of course as I am riding out of Valentine to look for some Indian Tobacco he comes riding at full speed at me, throwing his lasso at me and failing, because you know, I am in defensive mode. I write him to say that it is now the third time he has tried to start a fight and as I close the chat app he shoots me again. I kill him again and then he starts swearing at me and telling me that people like me are ruining the game. I am ruining the game? He keeps attacking me! I am defending myself, am I not allowed to do that? He doesn't respond and I throw a few tips his way like "Don't start fights if you don't like losing" and tell him how the hostility system works, seeing as he is new, but he just keeps coming at me. After a lot more deaths he finally leaves, becomes a blue dot again and a minute later, I am not even kidding, he turns bright red again because he attacked ANOTHER player.

 

tldr

I just don't have words for people like him. He started the fight, continues to start them and gets angry at me because I am defending myself? 

 

So... I am just supposed to let him kill me is that how PvP works now?

Guy was either very young or just missing chromosomes. I usually start off with the explosive round and they get the point quickly. I would have been pissed at that point you're just wasting ammo.

If this camp bug continues they won't be able to implement the Bale-of-Hay Planning-Hay you'll need for you and your posse to plan your bank and train heists.

 

How else can you decide options like, "Do we shoot some of the sheriffs and not get away cleanly" (Loud) or "Do you shoot all of the sheriffs and not get away cleanly" (Still Loud)? 

The only way this will lessen is if there's a larger money sink for attacking, or an actual player bounty etc.

My game has been acting really weird the past few hours. I dealt with lagg, input lagg so bad I've never seen in this game, and extremely late pop ins like a bounty board appearing part by part in front of me.

I also did a bounty where for some reason I couldn't drive my bounty wagon, luckily I had a friend with me to save the day.

But after we turned them in, 2 of the bounties tried to steal my wagon, one kicked the other off, she just ran and the other couldn't drive my wagon either. Also the icon disappeared from the map.

Apparently it was no longer my wagon.

Then I played some elimination modes for 7/7 dailies and at the end of both matches the screen was flashing black repeatedly for a few seconds, very fast.

Really odd end of my day with this game.

Think it's time to call it a night.

Just went back to positive honor and I'm already regretting it...

 

There's a fellow trader and he needs a desert iguana...

I looked for close to 8 minutes before changing sessions hoping for a forced spawn. It never came. 

 

The worst of it was I got the SAME f*ckING MISSION in the next session. Even with animal spawns it took me 14 out of 15 minutes to find the f*cking lizard and get the supplies to the camp.

I had some issues with the bounty board last night as well. Selected a bounty and after a few seconds I was suddenly given a gold dead eye ring (hadn't taken any tonics) and the bounty board disappeared. After about 45 seconds the bounty finally started and the bounty continued as normal except I wasn't given a timer for the bounty

Oddly enough, my honor is almost maxed out, but I still get the steal missions.

Only had 2 of the hunting jobs, one of which I managed to get done, surprisingly.

Terrible mission design. I tried buying supplies and that glitched out.

I was slightly annoyed, but I only used 1 explosive round on him. My ability card build will one shot you when I use the Carcano with Express rounds.

You'd think that after the first 3 times of dying to 1 shot and me barely losing health that he'd get that what he was doing wasn't going to work. But noooooooo... And he is not even the first guy I have encountered who did this, he is just the latest example.

Oh, another thing as well.

R*...if your engine is so f*cking decrepit and frail under the weight of all that make-up that it can't keep more than three bodies spawned unless I am looking at them the least you can do is go old school and leave a little satchel on the floor where their corpse was that I can loot for the stuff they had on them. The amount of Treasure Maps I must have lost to this is maddening.

When hunting I find I have to leave my horse beside one carcass while I go skin one farther away, otherwise I lose the one out of sight range (whatever that is).

Also I have to aim and cock my weapons after boarding my horse or my character will automatically holster them.

Very annoying.

On this note, I was hunting in Big Valley last night and I found an Elk. Shot it and as I turned around I saw a tiny white speck at the other side of the Valley. It was a three Star White Tail Deer, sniped it and decided that my Two Star Elk was worth abandoning, I went and collected the Deer and the Elk was still on my radar so I collected that as well and yet bodies will despawn the moment you look away.

Now I remember what I wanted to post from last night: every time I called my horse when it wasn't on the map (initial spawn into the session, after getting killed) the game told me my active horse was dead, which was troublesome, since it shouldn't have been.

It turns out the horse was indeed fine, but the message is worrying each time.

Go to a stable and see what the status of your horse is there. Sometimes it's injured and needs you to pay a fee, before the game realises it's not dead.

It came when I called it, was just fine. I rode it across half the map afterwards.

This happened Tuesday night as well, but only once. Last night it happened twice.

edit: could it be injured and still useable?

Had it happen a good few times and it appeared the horse needed care when I entered the stables. After paying the fee (automagically), the game realised my horse wasn't dead. 

If your horse died and you called another one, it can happen that, after a cutscene, you're riding your dead horse again. Horses are still suffering bugs and probably will for a long time coming.
