WTF this game is so broken I just played Day of Reckoning and the last target I turned in, I got 5 times the points for that :O

Luckily I was already in first place, because I would feel bad to win due to a glitch like that.

Really messed up.

I don't want to have to progress every future role just so I'm not gimping myself by missing out on role specific perks that are useful across all gameplay.

Or something as simple as a pair of glasses being locked behind a grindwall. Yea, lets give them overly flamboyant hats and fifty trillion retextures of the same Poncho but f*ck anyone that wants to have a pair of glasses and doubly f*ck anyone that wants to choose the colour. Let charge them five Gold after fifty hours plus of grinding.

I'm all for high level Bounty Hunters getting gun spinning, Collectors getting slightly reduced search areas, Traders getting perfect+ carcasses etc., but something as useful across the board as EE+ should have been an Ability Card, or preferably, R* should introduce trinkets and talismans to RDO, only let us wear a very limited number and attach perks such as EE+ to those.

I won't disagree that would be the better way to do things, carrying over the single player talismans and trinkets would make much more sense than the... fancy magic cigarette cards, I guess? But I mean, collectors having an easier time finding hidden objects and traders getting better bang for their three star bucks are both really useful to the role. But gunspinning? It's cool looking, no denying, but it's not at all useful. There's no one to intimidate with a casual spin, it's just a thing you can do. Personally, I would have rathered Bounty Hunters to get better dead eye abilities over eagle eye. But something like that could easily also reach the "too useful" idea. So if not something like EE+ or DE+, what?

i just got camped by a posse of 4 people with scoped rifles while doing a supply run ...so much fun to get 1 shooted by a bunch of angry kids ....and the fun part is if i kill some of them they respawn like right next to me  ....because a game about the wild west , gunslingers and revolvers needed  sniper rifles .....give them a rpg in the next update ,so they can make my trader life even more miserable

I would add Talismans to the "Belt Trinkets" section and have you able to have ONE equipped at a time and they add different bonuses like a chance of collecting double plants etc.

Gun spinning is a sh*t reward, it should have been in the Outlaw Pass. I would rather have gotten "Perks" like firing a warning shot in the air when undetected has a chance of making enemies surrender or aiming at a Bounty and firing a shot in the air has a chance of making them stop fleeing.

I agree with you and @RyuNovathat gun spinning is a terrible "perk", if it can even be classed as one.

RyuNova actually touched upon something close to the ability or perk which I would have preferred Bounty Hunters to get, which would be a chance that bounty targets will surrender to you. Fire a warning shot when near lone targets or kill enough of their gang and they give up, either willingly climbing on your horse or getting into your bounty wagon.

That way each role would have a perk which is beneficial to that specific role, as opposed to EE+, which is useful across hunting/gathering, collecting and bounty hunting, but tied into the progression of one role.

To make a broader point, the way EE+ is unlocked represents R*s obsession with wanting to drive players into being all things at all times. It was the same in GTAO, if you don't want to buy into everything, then you are forced pay the price of missing out on whole updates worth of playable content. It's part of what made GTAO seem ever more ridiculous to me, where we're driven into being a CEO (SecuroServ errand boy, twice over, with crates and I/E), a biker drug lord, a black market arms dealer, a nightclub owning criminal enterprise conglomerate, Nervous Ron's airborne b*tch, Lester's mute muscle (twice). All concurrently.

I wanted R* to move away from pushing players in all directions and focus on giving players an incentive to go down one roleplay path, because if R* don't, RDO will end up just like GTAO, where everyone does everything, which isn't too bad now, if you don't think about it too much, but in a couple of years, when everyone owns a fur trading business, a collectables store, a mine, a railroad and a detective agency we'll be in the same farcical situation as GTAO.

If I appear from nowhere with a double barrel pointed at your face the last thing you are gonna do is tell all your men to open fire on me. I would have liked the ability to command people I have my gun aimed at, like holding aim and pressing X would have a chance of making them surrender and when surrendered a second press would have them get down on the ground.

Also a "Terrifying Presence" Perk, the more people you take on a Bounty Hunt the higher the chance of surrender. Like if you took a full Posse you would have a chance of having the entire Gang surrender and you can just walk the Bounty out with any bloodshed.

Actually I would call it "The Power of Posse" in typical R* crude humour.

"Only one thing has the power to make groups of men surrender unconditionally. The bigger your Posse the higher the chance of surrender"

I know that, like I said "ridiculous", but Nazar will pay you $650 for a set of coins dug up with the same shovel. That $650 is also very inflated money for 1899. Plus you can keep on repeating that set if you willing to do the work. I'm at least $8000.00 ahead for my $400 investment, I'll take it.

Me too, me too.

Would be better and more accurate to give the shovel for free and charge $400 more for the metal detector (that was a real rarity). At least the poor folks could start to collect from disrupted terrain spots without such an investment. But I guess they didn't want to scare players with a bigger price for the metal detector.

A classic example of someone posting an idea here which shows more imagination and thought than anything R* have introduced so far.

The point is... you‘re not paying 300$ for a shovel, you‘re paying for a tool which makes you rich.
i actually don‘t care if the shovel costs that much, since you‘ll have that money back after collecting for half an hour.

back then not only shovels were that expensive, but also you weren‘t able to find some old jewelry, precious arrow heads and other stuff underneath every second stone.

there are really more significant issues with this game rather than a shovel costing 300$.

A shovel made you rich then too. You could use it to dig pay dirt and find gold. Thing is, a dig spot wasn’t a guaranteed find then. In this game it is.

Credit where it's due, the people being paid to create content for the game haven't managed to implement gameplay mechanics such as what you suggested into the game.

It's the little details that can make such a big impact on our enjoyment as players. It would be so cool to get to a bounty target with a posse and to have them surrender to you without a shot being fired, players would get that feeling of their character being a real bad a$$. Or having a bounty target occasionally offer to bribe you with collectables like a couple of tarot cards,a coin or a treasure map or whatever instead of turning them in.

Little details are what can bring life and longevity into games and characters, not cookie cutter missions, arbitrary timers and a sense of forced gameplay direction.

Said this as well, honour should not be given for doing our Jobs. We are a legally employed Bounty Hunter so why do we get honour for returning them alive when we already get a bigger payout. Bribes and how we treat them should be what gives or remove honour, if we beat a Bounty unconscious when should lose Honour for Assault for example.

I don't know if its limitations from the game engine or just R* being lazy but I am tired of the same missions at the same place. I know if I get a Bounty at Downes Ranch it's gonna be a "scope out" one. I want truly random missions. It's the same with GTAO, when you start Sightseer in the city, you know its gonna be the same three spawn points everytime for the targets.

This bollocks about a "shared dynamic world" is second to R*'s original plan which was a GTAO clone with more Microtransactions. The hostile response R* didnt expect, they expected people,to roll over and start paying for Gold.

I still haven’t unlocked EE+ because of how much I dislike the BH role. Worse yet, I haven’t even reached rank 3 in that role and it will probably never happen either. The incentive to get EE+ just isn’t big enough to swallow the grind pill for this, imo, badly executed role. And an eye patch as a rank 20 unlock...., I think not.

If any ability/perk unlock could be gained, do it by character level unlock. Trinkets and so could be an option too, but please not by cards.

If Rockstar really is intended to make this game a more RPG like experience, they’re doing a shabby job at it.

Here is many good idea's! But I recommend that people post this ideas at R* suggestion page!

I'm tired to chase bounties all over the map so most of them ends up in a coffin.

I figured out how to do a similar glitch consistently. You gotta carry a target on your horse while dragging another with your lasso. After that both targets get brought it in like 2-3 times for me.

But that's not what happened to me. I carried a target on my shoulder, and got 5 times the points for that 1 target.

And something similair happened in Wild Animals Kills Challenge too, I got double the points for killing 1 rare bear.

Saw it happen to others too.

The machette is freakin' useless:

- I never spawn with it in my inventory, have to call my horse first

- Cannot use it to finish downed enemies/stab them

- It's just a stronger and longer knife without its functionalities

Smh. 6 gold down the drain for a collector item I won't use.

implying any melee weapon in any recent rockstar game is good when gun bashing is somehow more powerful

I don't know, the hammer, the axe or the baseball bat was fun to use in GTA 5. At least it was in my inventory and take downs were possible with these. The machette doesn't even offer half of that. Tackling enemies or stealth stab are also fun in RDR2 currently.

I think a shovel back in the day was about $0.50 or something. A weeks wages for a male construction worker was around $32 for 5 days labour. We're having GTAO fares already.

Some time ago I bought a new hat, resembling the Kennedy hat in the game. Mine was $3 cheaper than the one in game. 🤔🤔

I couldn't go all the way back to 1899 but ...

Tpr6Z9s.png

Nevermind ... got it ... the collector's shovel costs $10,852 US dollars.

8GdRp7H.png

And $0.50 works out to about 15 bucks so that sounds about right.

After weeks of not having any disconnections, I get a 3 star cougar & 3 star badger for Cripps for one of today's challenges (both at Tall Trees/Great Plains). Get both almost all the way back to camp when, without any warning, "you have been disconnected..." blah blah blah. Absolutely fuming. 😡 Get logged in again and of course my camp, which was in the previous session okay, has now disappeared. Selected to pitch it in Heartlands/Cumberland Forest and it decides to pitch itself (eventually) in Great Plains... :facedesk:
