Oh I stopped......naturally. I'm still at level 7 trader. Even though I like to hunt the Trader role is the weakest IMO.

Holy hell. Can R* do a simple update without breaking two dozen things? It's barely worth listing how many bugs they just introduced. Here's just one new one: carcasses donated from the wagon don't count toward trader objectives. What a f*cking mess.

Ps4 bout the item wheel thing. It seems like you need to have the analog pointed in the direction of the item you wanna use before releasing. If not a bug then definetly not a smooth change.

I have a sort of compulsive thing to fill up progress bars (except for the Bounty Hunter rank one). Trader has 3 of them..... so..... :D :D

My findings and impressions with todays update:

A  few first impressions:

With game mode set on tv and hdr not set on game, I see a slight improvement in quality.

When pulling up online once in game( to spawn in another region or start a series game mode), it takes way longer to load...............................IF IT LOADS AT ALL! The large graphic picture at the top has to load before you can choose what you want to do................unless you hit right on the D-Pad. That will make it load. You didn't have to do that before. You could just hit down on the d-pad and go to what you want to do. Down on the D-pad just makes the noise if you do it first.

It seems very hopeful for the camp being fixed. First spawn was in the far west of the map. When fulling up the map with the index, the camp still didn't show up as an icon. I respawned in the area I thought I last left it. I could see it faded on the mini-map, but it still didn't show up on the index. Unlike the first spawn, I zoomed out and found it on the map. It wasn't in the area I wanted, so I moved it. It moved fine and very quickly.

Too soon to say if animal spawns are better. I did kill two 3* deer just before I relocated the camp.

Donating to Cripps:

The first time I went to donate to Cripps, I had to scroll over to the correct window! The first window to pop up was the one that comes up when you open you satchel! How can they screw that up?

 

Camp not fully fixed. Did a supply run, put me in a solo lobby and completed mission. I had killed two deer just as I came back to camp from the mission. One was still there after I spawned back in. I was in a solo lobby for a minute after leaving camp. As soon as I was moved to a new lobby, "Cripps has picked up your camp!!!

I reformed my posse and it respawned my camp............ALMOST ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE MAP!

At least the camp spawned! LOL!

edit............Fast travel to camp was only $1

Switching to the metal detector or to feed the horse is slow or takes multiple times trying!

Cripps production rate MAY have increased somewhat.

Animal spawns are still cacadoody, unless you're in a solo lobby doing a resupply, sale or bounty mission.

I don't get why your mount doesn't do the wagon-thing where it follows the road when you aim, especially since these assholes are so adamant on picking their own trajectory when you're actually riding them.

Word yo....my Breton and Shire for the most part is ok, but my Arabian and Ardennes....Bruh they don't mind avoiding clear paths just so they could run into trees and trip over rocks. Literally I'll steer the opposite way and the horse yanks itself back.

I'm assuming it's a bug as sometimes they stick (rarely for me it seems) but most of the time they don't. I just logged in and still have 1/3 collectibles dug up with shovel but majority of the time I lose all progress on the role ones if I exit the game/session.

Oh I see what you mean, it doesn't hang on the selection for a few seconds like it used to (and still does for weapons) with items. I see no good reason to change the way it worked before (especially considering it mirrors the way the weapons wheel works), hopefully just a bug.

Such a beautiful game this could be if it weren't for the f*ckheads running this sh*t in the ground at R* How f*cking sad.

 

Edit: My horse could have a nutsack the size of Rhode Island for all I care as long as I'd get to, you know, SEE SOME f*ckIN ANIMALS AND HAVE A CAMP THAT DOESN'T VAPORIZE WHEN IT BOTHERS TO SPAWN.

Why is it consistently low levels who try - and fail - to grief, these days?

 

Had three run-ins over the past few days.

They ultimately got annihilated and that was before my mates spawned in my lobby, but they're bloody relentless.

Please just quit and stop embarrassing yourself.

It will only put you into a solo session if the bounty/mission/sale/whatever you're starting has locations involved with it that conflict with things that are already ongoing from other players in your current lobby (in my experience), so it's not a guarantee anyway, but with how much fuller the lobbies have typically been lately it's still common to get to occur.

 

You can try stranger missions (destroy supplies is a good one imo) and camp sales/resupplies as well.

Did a stranger mission with my buddy, which usually gets us a long term reliable empty lobby, but this time it lasted all of ten seconds.

 

Patch a goddamn private session in and with the offhand holster thing now fixed the game's f*cking golden.

I'm not sure why, but I can't seem to trigger solo sessions with bounties and stranger missions anymore? The only time I got a solo session was when I did a supply run for Cripps since this patch arrived.

Resupply mission doesn't drop me in a solo session, most of the times. Delivery runs still do, or drop me in a very low populated session.

It honestly sucks so much to have played RDO for almost a year with the assumption/expectation that they'll do what they did with GTAO and do character transfers. I wanted that PC gameplay, mouse and keyboard, proper free aim, 60fps+, all that jazz.

 

Then you see the streams of RDO PC and it's exactly what I wanted but I'd have to start all over again if I wanted to play it. Given their whole "PC version is the ULTIMATE! version of RDR2" it almost feels like I actually was just beta testing the game for them for the full year and now it's wipe time before the real launch.

 

Not only has it killed a lot of my interest in RDO but also future online Rockstar games if this delayed PC release is going to be the norm. Lot of trust lost tbh.

Rockstar continues its streak of trying to fix one thing while breaking 10 other things. This should be their patch notes: "We may have made animal spawns even worse, sell screens are annoying as hell now, your horse may be even dumber, the main menu screen lags pretty badly, well almost all menus will lag pretty badly now, but hey! We improved camp spawns. Enjoy."

The decision R* has made baffles me. I've said elsewhere that I wouldn't have transferred anyway, after abandoning my day one GTAO character due to the cluster f*ck that is GTAO on PC, I just wouldn't be prepared to risk my day one RDO character. But the option should absolutely have been there.

 

If the option to transfer to PC was never going to be there, or whenever that decision was made, the player base should have been made aware either upon PC announcement or as soon as possible afterwards.

 

I doubt that the same situation will apply to the jump from current gen to next gen consoles. Would R* have the balls? I doubt it, the backlash would be huge.

 

I certainly wouldn't be triple dipping at next gen release without RDO character transfer, why would I? I've no interest in starting from scratch, I'm not going to delay my jump to PS5 for one game and without the incentive of keeping my RDO progress why would I buy RDR2 again for PS5 when I'm more than confident my PC will out perform it for SP alone.

I guess the fact that console accounts are linked to Sony and Microsoft online game services, it may oppose a problem to transfer Sony PSN accounts to PC. Xbox Live won't be much of a hassle, I suppose, but they probably don't want to rule out certain console users with things this big. I'll admit, I know nothing regarding any technical issues or limitations, but aren't all our stats and progress stored in our social club accounts? Wouldn't it just be a case of transferring those stats and progress to our PC account?

 

However it works, last gen console to PC worked for GTAO.

They are linked to our SC accounts, but I don't know to what level Sony owns that info. I log on through my PSN account to SC. I, like you, don't have much knowledge on this area, but I can see how Sony keeps a finger on any shared information of accounts. 

We also log in to our games through our PSN or Xbox Live accounts. SC is probably only showing stats and not real game account data.

Speaking of which anybody thinking about picking up the PC version? Now, soon, or later? I don't know much about how that account data works, but I never linked mine for GTAO from PS3 or PS4 to PC. I had separate accounts for both Playstation and PC. I'll probably pick up the PC version later though. Like before Spring of next year later, but if I don't get it by then I'll probably just pass unless magically there is a deal I can't refuse, because I would be in the middle of upgrading my PC by that time.......

Nope. Again, they did it all with GTAO. They have no technical excuse for it.

 

Even then, it's 2019, cross platform multiplayer and progression is supported by all platforms. The decision has nothing to do with Sony or Microsoft.

Change RDR2 to something else and it 404's so at the very least, it exists in some form or another. Currently playing it and it's f*cking glorious on ultra settings. 

 

RDO will be untouched though, RedM will be my PC multiplayer.

Oh yeah.......RDO for me is console only. I play most if not all my online heavy games on console. Any game that I play story heavy will most likely be on PC except Playstation exclusives like Spiderman and God of War.

I'll be hard passing on it, mainly for the reason I'd have to build a new gaming pc for it. I'm a mac user and that's not the best option for gaming (but is for use as a work station and keeping your desk tidy).

Also, like I said in another comment, the way GTAO developed on PC is not what I am chasing after in RDO as well. Sure, we get ridiculous crap to deal with, but not modded accounts ruining the whole experience even more.
