I already miss hearing the Singleplayer OST in Online's Story missions. Some of the new soundtracks may have a similar vibe, but they lack the energy that the original soundtracks give you as you go through intense gunfights.

There's at least 2 trains on the northern line, the one that goes through Rhodes takes around 30 minutes to complete a circuit.  Not sure about the one that goes through Valentine.

There's only 1 train there, the tracks overlap like 80% of the line.

I don't know what makes the game decide whether it goes to Rhodes or Valentine, however.

You make a good point

The first rdronline had that random music which made it feel like a western and gave me goosebumps when it came on. Especially those sounds that would play sometimes.

It would be nice if they reintroduced the announcer guy, have him say stuff like " a player wants you in their posse " or stuff like that.

Also where the guck are my duels, guess they are never going to be added.

I also dislike how some of the free roam events are described and their payout. I cant tell or know what some of them are about and even if I did do one, it paid me like 11 dollars for first place, great you covered maybe half my ammo that I used in the event in the first place

A brief description in the invite would be nice.

It's the Doomsday Heist method of artificially raising difficulty. Give NPC's a ridiculous amount of health, make them spawn in high numbers out of nowhere and buff their accuracy through the roof.

Why make AI smart when you can just make a high volume of super accurate bullet sponges? Amirite.

Even at one star some seem ridiculous

So many people.... and still a lot coming in, and chasing you too!

Its how Rockstar done things since Gta 3. If you ever did a gang attack in Gta San Andreas for example, you know what I am talking about. Law enforcement has that same zerg rush mentality that hasn't changed in all this time.

The difference being the AI was more incompetent back during the 3D generation. Over the years they hit the player character with the nerf bat, making them progressively weaker over the years while also progressively buffing the AI with more health, damage, and accuracy. This reaching its precipice in Doomsday. You cannot even walk down a two degree incline without falling over like a dumbass, and your health pool is pathetically small, even at level ten. They justified it in Gta 5 by saying health regenerates, which is a moot point considering how slow health regenerates.

Rockstar is too lazy to program the AI to actually use tactics. They prefer spawn bombing (spawning tons of enemies very close by) and overwhelming you with sheer numbers.

Sorry I was concentrating on the KERS-equipped pronghorn-shaped lightcycle I was trying to lasso. This was after I had already given it an extra butthole from an express round out of my bolt-action.

That f*cking thing took another 5 rounds before I left it to rot. And no, the rifle was fully clean. I cleaned it just after a black bear sponged 3 rounds and ran away.

Pretty sure only one train can spawn at a time, actually 2 now since there's one in NA too.

It has to be like that, to avoid train crashing into each other, I assume.

So if you can't find a train, it's likely someone killed the driver and left it there, but it didn't despawn because they or someone was nearby.

Or it's possible other players are near train tracks and causing a loop of a train to respawn over and over.

And if you see 2 trains in a row at the same station, that means the 1st one despawned after it was too far away from you and with no other players around.

From my experience I find it's best to idle at a station for a bit, if you don't use any buttons, the game will go in cinematic mode, which seems to cause a train to spawn.

Just looking into the direction it's coming from doesn't seem to work.

And almost everytime I fast travel to McFarlane's Ranch, there's a train coming into the station. Very frequent.

Pretty spot on 👍, Wallace station is another favorite of mine for train spawning but I imagine the train in NA is easier to get to spawn on average.

Thanks!

I guess traveling 700 miles on a train taught me that, only 300 miles to go for that award, lol.

What I really miss is the music from RDR (1). It just sounded great no matter where you were or what you were doing. Immediately put out that spaghetti western vibe.

There's a guy on YouTube who uploaded all the ambient music from RDR 1, beautiful stuff. Ambient music that plays in certain areas like Cholla Springs, Armadillo, Chuparosa, Punta Orgullo, Las Hermanas, etc.

I mute my TV when i roam around in RDR 2 and listen that RDR 1 ambient playlist.

Sorry if you already thought of it, but you could just turn the music volume down in the settings, that way you keep speech and gunfire.

That's what I did after the first showdown I joined.  I thought gta "action music" was the most irritating noise until showdowns in rdo.

Did the C. C. Tucker legendary bounty last night on two stars and all this talk about R* just buffing the npc with health and better aim is ridiculous! My dead eye card I use 99% of the time is level 3

focus fire combined with the bow gives a body shot one shot kill on all npc enemy! But not not on this ones.....

And then this happend on the way back....

I do the same with GTAO. Turn down the music slider because I despise the music that plays when you start an activity. My Nightclub is silent which is weird but after hundreds of hours the music is tedious and repetitive. I wish we had the ability to turn ALL music off with the radio dial.

With the introduction of being able to do legendary bounties solo, it would be nice if they also made story missions possible to solo too. If I can solo whatever they concoct for a five star legendary bounty, I think its safe to say I need no one to lean on for story missions. Teammates are often times more a detriment than any real help, dieing from stupid sh*t that was easily avoidable and then restarting the mission from a checkpoint. If the game is gonna punish me for someone else f*cking up, then I want nothing to do with teammates.

Rockstar has been a fan of spawn bombing since Gta 5 online, by running on the tracks you limited the places the game could spawn them in from and clearly decided to just say "f*ck it" and spawn them two feet in front of you.

Another thing I noticed was the Bounty Hunter Woman said at the end of the intro that they would protect him to a point meaning at some point they would probably leave him. On the contrary though they still seemed loyal to him even if you kill him.

What I noticed on my second try with this one was that when you get close enough to the bounty, the militia will start running away. Wish I knew this before hand as I was down to only two guys left protecting him, but there seems to be just an endless spawn of these guys coming until you get close to the target as well. So I guess the trick is to just sprint over to him and get him tied or shot as soon as possible. For my 3rd try I'm just going to smoke him from long distance cuz I cannot stand this dudes constant whining on the way to jail. We'll see if they all run off once he's dead.

Is anyone getting a message saying the stable is busy when trying to call their horse/vehicle? I was unable to call my wagon at all. My horse eventually came after repeatedly whistling for him.

Why yes, Cripps old boy. I would love to drag a wagon full of exlopsive chemicals from the asshole of New Austin all the way to the camp you put on a nearly unaccessible plateau outside of Tumbleweed to fuel your glue sniffing addiction.

That explosion on the neighbouring plateau? Oh, that was me. I shot the thing just to spite your addicted ass.

Just change sessions. Your wagon will be dead to you until you get into a working session.

Ask me how I know...

Happened to me a few times. 3 different fixes that worked for me were:

Changing session.

Calling back horse and moving to a different spot.

Calling back horse, travelling to the stables and dismissing the wagon from vehicle menu (or something similar - did this the first time it happened so don't remember exactly).

Unfortunately, none of these options are of any help when you are standing there with a pile of 3 star deer at your feet. I've just taken the loss, swore at the game and moved on.

Can somebody explain defensive mode to me?

I was led to believe it would give you a serious edge against asshats, but so far the only thing it's done is show I won't put up a fight.

Got mowed down just now by some human tumor who took down my horse to begin with. I tried returning fire but I couldn't lock on or paint on the tosser in dead eye.

What exactly is the point of this if it doesn't allow me to annihilate someone who clearly ignores the "I don't wanna play" sign.

As somebody said on here it might be because of his mental state/health that he whines while captured. Most of the time I don't have to kill him.....he kills himself. In order for me to get him alive I have to lasso or throw the Bolas at him early before he decides to torch the wagon. I've never had to smoke him, because he always barbeques himself at least in my game/sessions.

It's a couple mechanics at play that make you less easy as a target:

Can't be auto aimed onto by another player (but also cannot auto aim at other players yourself.)

Can't be tackled/melee'd/lasso'd.

Other players do less damage against you (but can still do damage to you and kill you obviously.)

Now obviously as was mentioned if they're up for free aiming they can still shoot at and do damage to you, so it helps if you are competent at all at free aiming yourself. Granted if you don't care about pvp and don't plan on attacking others that detail doesn't really matter. The not being able to be be tackled/etc is nice as it forces anyone that wants to fight you to guns in which free aiming comes into play, but it's nothing like passive mode in GTAO.

The point of it, as I mentioned above is to make you a less enticing target and to give you some leeway in how others engage you, it is by no means meant to allow you to "annihilate" anyone.

Defensive mode only helps. It does not remove jerks that love being jerks from the game.
My advise is ignore the jerks. Don't play their game.

There is a special trick I learned from Gta Online to manipulate vehicles to spawn where you want them to. The game will always try to spawn vehicles in the opposite direction of where your camera is facing. To increase the odds of successful spawning point the camera in the opposite direction of where you want it to spawn. The wagon will spawn successfully much more often. Prioritize roads with at least one small patch of road that is straight for better chances as well.

It does give you a powerful advantage in having a strong innate damage resistance. They gotta put many more rounds into you than you have to do to kill them. I won situations where I beat a whole posse of four by myself because their manual aiming sucked while I ran circles around them and nailing them with my sawed off shotgun.
