Yeah, maybe it'd be ok again if they dropped the damage part. It used to block the first actual head shot 100% of the time, & then it was (kinda) worth risking the extra damage.

Agreed. IMO, Fool Me Once has taken its place (especially when paired with Iron Lung, Slow and Steady and level 3 tonic)

No we are talking regular arrows hence why me @RyuNova can agree its OP on NPCs, because its one shot kill on any part of the body, while dynamite arrows is different level. The average arrows or the usual ammo the Bow comes with are no where near OP when it comes to PvP......I mean its not even close no cards or tonics needed. If you are getting owned by a bow user using regular arrows you should retire the PvP portion of the game.

He always, ALWAYS when left to his own devices, pitches my camp in the most inconvenient ass-end of Hannegen's Stead. I have to be standing by the Tailor in Blackwater to get him to put it near Thieves Landing.

Pretty sure a significant update/patch will drop around the time the PC version drops. More than likely they are postponing any significant fixes so the PC version and Console versions are all on the same stable patch.

 

Animals not spawning or Camps disappearing dont negatively affect Gold Bar sales so its not a big issue. Just like the "Tank Build" issue.

That actually makes sense, I didn't think of that.

Let's hope that's what's going to happen.

This game needs a patch badly.

Agreed.

I would guess that all of their focus is on getting the PC version ready and making sure the R* launcher is up to scratch for launch day. Would explain why the last few weeks have been sh*t.

I miss doing my gang hideouts religiously and loot tons of maps & such. Slaying all these bastards over and over again. Nowadays I'd be lucky if one ever pops up... the constant server merging made a f*cking mess out of all these dynamic events & activities. Ambushes are a rarity, rescues escorts only ever so often spawn. Most of them are pretty boring too. Yeah, I miss pre FP free roam sometimes.

Very true. After the Poker update I used to get stuff like this all the time.

If you see a blue (or red) dot on your radar its pretty much a certain you won't get any random events.

The contrast between animal spawns in a crowded area/lobby, and the ones where you are solo or with just a few friends in a posse is outrageous. It should be the standard that we have very frequent animal spawns but alas the game just can't handle it. Will this be the case on PC or is it just that our current gen consoles are already too poor & outdated to handle a game this size ? Remains to be seen.

If it's a hardware issue, people on PS4 should have more trouble than those on Xbox One X, since the Xbox is more powerful. I'm in a lobby of 8 players, including myself, for hours already. Animal spawns, camp spawns are good. I am on PS4 Pro

I don't think it would be significantly different. I know some of my friends whom are on Xbox and they deal with plenty issues on some days, then some who own both consoles that tell me the same. I am on Ps4 and I have had all these problems during the past months with animals, camps, game crashing ect. it's really just a spin of the wheel. There's good days and God awful ones.. friend of mine had the notorious game services error 0002000 whatever all night and he plays with fast internet as where I had not one issue and my internet is probably the lowest you can even have to access online features. Well.. maybe the wi-fi in local McDonalds is worse lol

f*ck any bounty on a train.  And why is there a timer for every f*cking mission? I can see needing to capture a bounty before they escape,  but what's the rush to deliver him once he's dead?

 

Same for resupply missions, what's the rush? I don't get more supplies for taking longer, I'm only hurting myself because nothing is being produced until I deliver it.

I'm not tech savvy at all, but it always puzzles me how some people can have all the problems and others have little to none.

 

I play on xbox and for the most part I've had very little issues with this update. I've had herds of animals spawning all over the place and for the most part, my camp has spawned just fine. I did have issues last week with my camp not spawning and a couple days of disconnect issues, but other than that this update has worked just fine for me. I guess I'm just lucky?

Who knows what the conditions are for these issues, I myself almost never get disconnected, I can easily go weeks of playing without getting one. On the flip side I'm definitely being effected by whatever issue is causing camp and animal spawn problems in near full to full lobbies. It's definitely not a hardware issue as it was completely fine for me before the FP update, I used my camp all the time and rarely had issues with animal spawns in the past but now get a lobby up into the upper teens and above and most of the time now my game goes to sh*t. It doesn't always but it's more often than not that's for sure.

 

Edit: I should say that it's still possible it is a hardware issue, I have no idea obviously lol, but if so it would have to have been brought on with the FP update.

I must admit, disconnecting issues have as good as vanished for me. I never had any during beta and patch 1.10, but had a few weeks of major disconnecting issues, before FP launched. Since FP, the map got so many new things, like all the collector dig spots, tarot cards thrown around, bounties, npc activities, rescue camps and much more active player camps too. The amount of data to be processed should be doubled, if not more. There is only so much a console can handle when it comes to processing power and my guess is that the current state of the game is pushing the limit. The Xbox One X is more powerful than the PS4 Pro, so I thought maybe that console might be able to handle more data and have less issues with animal spawns/camp spawns. As far as I know the Xbox One X has a faster processor and 12GB DDR5, of which 9GB are available for the game alone and 3GB for the OS, whereas a PS4 Pro has 8GB in total to run the games AND the OS. So, if the console hardware doesn't show any difference in running the game, then the issue might be on Rockstar's end. 

Of course, I could be all wrong :D

Yeah the Xbox 1X definitely has the upper hand on the Pro but it's hard for me to imagine it being a hardware issue when prior to the FP update I had no issues with my camp or with animal spawns, it's quite jarring going from seeing herds of animals to 1 lone buck, or the occasional bird... maybe.

 

But yeah with any luck they'll have an patch out with the PC release if not sooner.

Prior to FP, the map generated a lot less data, because it had no digspots, bounties, trade missions etc to cope with. I did the "shoot 25 (was it 25? it was a bunch of them, alright) birds from a moving train" reward during a very short trip from Emerald Station to Rhodes. Yesterday, one of the dailies was 5 birds from a moving train. It took me a ride from Annesburg to Flatneck Station to get 5 birds to spawn and shot. No flocks, just a single bird from time to very long time. But, today, I was in a lobby of 8 for a long time and had no issues much. The less players are in a lobby, the less data the lobby has to cope with and thus, in my weird head, more data transfer available for the inhabitants of the lobby.

If Lobby=100 data, 20 players equals (100/20)=5 per player. If Lobby=100 data, 8 players equals (100/8)=12.5 per player. Again, I could be all wrong (and it's booze time, so.....), but it does seem logical, in a way.

At least you found a train. I looked for 2 hours going the opposite way on the tracks trying to find one. This was across 3 lobbies too.

Mostly luck yesterday. I simply ran into one. Same for today when I happened to be in Rhodes for gun upgrades and heard a train coming. With only 8 players in the lobby, no risk of being shot out of it. 
I normally skip on dailies with trains involved, due to the botched schedules when a player hijacks one and leaves it at a random place. I always leave it at a station with fast travel options when I'm done and blow the whistle a good few times, so others might hear it and know one is near.

I haven’t used a Cattleman in Online for a long time, but has it always been pathetic? 
 

I remember it being somewhat useful before, but dual-wielding two of them with Gunslinger’s Choice does as much damage as dual-wielded Double-Action Revolvers, but the time-to-kill is inferior because of the poorer fire-rate. The Schofield still stands supreme to this day since two body-shots USUALLY get the job done.

I was randomly attacked for the first time since the BETA started last night. Some random low level with the Scrawny Nag and a Carbine Repeater shot me in the head while I was shopping in Rhodes (I was not in Defensive Mode to be fair for some reason beyond my control). Fine, I thought, I will give him the benefit of the doubt as hes low level but he rounded back and started taking shots at me again with one downing my Horse...

was my only thought as I loaded Explosive Rounds into my weapon and blew him and his horse away.

I even went to revive his Horse and he still decided to shoot at me AGAIN! Killed him again and he vanished.
