I'm hoping if they decide to do properties

We'll get them at some point, but we'll be living in our camps for a while first I think.

As for your overall point, I'd like a weapons display cabinet, I'd probably spend more on weapons, buying weapons I don't intend on using, just to customise and display them.

I really wish Rockstar would get off their ass and fix the issue with animals disappearing from the map. Its clearly a issue caused by player populations, it struggles spawning animals for so many players across the map and just completely gives up it seems. Cause every time I start a mission and get placed in a session with just myself with it, the map is suddenly crawling with animals as far as the eye can see. I don't know why the game struggles with spawning animals specifically and has no problem spawning human NPCs both on foot and driving wagons. I theorize this was also an issue for Gta 5, which is why you got animals in the single player but none for the online mode. Course unlike RDO, animals were not a necessity for Gta Online and so they didn't bother.

Its anyone's guess why the game struggles spawning animals in particular but Rockstar had plenty of time to try and address this issue thats been a thing since beta. We got businesses now that requires frequent hunting to operate. If the servers can't handle it then don't have it trying to stuff as many players in sessions as humanely possible. This one would be of the good reasons to have solo sessions as an option so in the event you can't get a session with animals in it, you can just create your own by just being in a session of your own.

Yeah, because I have revolvers and pistols I don't use unless I'm shooting NPCs for show, but for the most part I keep the Sawed Offs on me like 95% of the time so I will shelve all my pistols and revolvers. Rifles I only carry 2 Varmint(hunting) and Bolt Action(all around use)probably will keep these on me. I have all the repeaters and I would just keep 2 on me(Lancaster and Evans) and stash the Carbine and Litchfield. Now I have 2 shotguns on me besides the Sawed Offs(Pump and Semi) and I don't use them much so I will probably shelve those. The Bow I use it probably only a little more than the pistols, but that might be the one weapon I shelve and unshelve the most.

Ultimately I've already fully customized the weapons I don't use and I would like to display these. Now if Survival comes in I might be taking some of these off the shelf though, because going against the NPCs can be some of the best times to use weapons for old time sake or use something you don't normally use.

Its quite a simple issue. The game needs the animals to be the same for everyone in the session. What player A sees then players B to Z need to see as well, their system obviously cannot handle this so the game is just like "NOPE!" and stops spawning the animals. Same reason why we get Solo Lobbies on Bounty Hunts, someone is near the spawn location so the game cannot spawn the props and stuff and you get a Solo Lobby.

Well logically you'd think the game would struggle with that across the board with all NPCs, but the game clearly has no issue with humans as they're always present. Its just those on four legs that the game seems to have an issue with. Why just animals? That is the question.

Which is exactly why we need smaller lobbies.

This afternoon, after getting a bounty mission solo lobby, it only repopulated to around 15 players and stayed that way for almost 2 hours until I logged off. Animals spawned, camp spawned and moved, hideous and random encounters regularly spawned too.

I rarely see other players as it is in 20+ player lobbies, so I'd far rather the player count be dropped to 16, like old gen GTAO, in order to have all aspects of the game functional.

The more players the more the system seem to struggle. It just decides to start tossing activities overboard to maintain the player count instead of splitting Lobbies.

I spawned out of a legendary bounty the other day and got into a lobby with the posse, when they left, I went on messing about and then checked the list and found out that I was the only one in the lobby, it stayed like that for an hour or so after that.

Me, lol. C'mon man. 🤣🤣

R* talk of us choosing our ways, yet lock the content many wanted to roles meaning choice is lesser than it could be.

Or should be, I strongly feel. (I felt I was quite open about not wanting to anything other than collector since these roles arrived. Apologies if I wasn't clear).

Basically this, yeah - once again, R* showing they don't understand what "role-playing" means, because the implementation paints the 'correct' way to play RDO as 'do all the things'. Heck, I've recently realised that the Collector/Bounty Hunter/Trader options from the RDO in-game home page (before you enter the game get removed once you start them - so because I've not started trader yet, I'll always have a main menu tab dedicated to starting it (and a priority letter from Cripps that I'm careful to never open).

It's bullsh*t, it really is - because it means that the only 'role' in the game is the same for all players: that of a 'collector-trader-hunter'. I actually do like how doing a mix of collector and bounty hunter stuff fits my 'globe-trotting Victorian adventurer' shtick (it's all very Assassin's Creed Syndicate, which is exactly what I'd always hoped I'd be able to do in RDO! :pp) really nicely. Trader just doesn't make sense for that, though - can't really imagine a knockoff Conan Doyle protagonist going also running a part-time meat market... And yet R* clearly wants me to saddle my character with all that, and to hell with any actual ability to create/define/personalise my character beyond the same kind of narrow, all-in-one model they've likewise set for everyone in GTAO.

At least there's no way to get endless spam voicemail messages in the 1890s, which is an improvement over GTAO - and I suppose that if they start resorting to carrier pigeons, I can just use them for target practice...

I never had this spot and thought it was a glitched spot :D

Normally there's always a clear area in the middle of your camp, without trees, logs or boulders. This one really is bad.

it sucks there is almost no wildlife to hunt when in free roam, and when on a mission animals r everywhere

Hunting Wagon.

Just start a Bounty Mission that has no timer until you get close and puts you in a Solo Lobby and then Hunt to your hearts content.

Sorry, reading that again sounds like I am being condescending.

The Hunting Wagon can be called and dismissed without affecting what's in the back and even leaving Online won't erase what's in the back. I have stopped actively Hunting and just scan the wildlife as I go about my day. If I find a three-star Deer or something of high quality I put it in the back and carry on what I was doing. Five three star Deer will almost fill the entire Materials bar.

You will find that you see more wildlife when you are not actively looking for it.

What also doesn't help with the problem I mentioned but it gets worse when you stack the camp glitch on top of the lack of animals. Its ridiculous how much session jumping I must do to finally get a session where I can both get my camp to spawn and actually has animal life on Earth. The two issues in tandem creates a massive pain in the ass just to engage in the trader role. Even when you do finally find such a session, it might get merged with another session which might cause one or even both bugs to go into effect, making you have to session hunt all over again.

Only a solution for traders though, if we choose our path and it doesn't include Cripps, we can't have a feature highly requested.

Pretty sad really.

Rockstar's way of saying "we want you to be able to choose your own path, but we really just want you to buy into all of the roles"

Deliver materials to the HQ property, deliver the goods to buyers (in public sessions, of course... :turn:). Considering that the basic premise (and the theming) doesn't interest me one jot, I'm not really all that fussed about the more nuanced things that set it apart from the GTAO SecuroServ-style stuff. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

...come to think of it, it's a bit weird that R* expects us all to do it, considering how it's a weird fit for outlaws and gunslingers. Bounty hunter is much more what I expected to do in RDO (right down to getting the info from wanted posters, which is a neat touch) - can't remember the bit in Tombstone where Wyatt Earp spends half the movie flogging cuts of beef from the back of a cart, but maybe that's just me... :beerhat:

Pretty much. Basic "abilities/things" like a Gun Locker should not be locked behind a Role. Its not just the fact that you need grind out levels you also need to pay fifteen Gold for something as simple as being able to store your weapons.

We all know that like GTAO you will get this ability free with a future purchase like you did with the Gun Locker.

Overall I have really enjoyed this update and the much needed variety it gave the game, but my biggest gripes with the roles is as you said, locking items behind roles and also uneven payouts in money and xp across the roles. The collector is obviously the most profitable and you gain tons of xp, so a lot of players are going to buy into that role not necessarily because being a collector interested them, but because it's a lot more profitable than the other roles and nets serious xp compared to the bounty hunter role.

I mean I guess I wouldn't want every role to pay out the same because there wouldn't be a variety, but at the same time I just hope it's a little better balanced in the future. We'll eventually see tons of Leviticus Cornwalls in the future if they progress the roles that far, not because players have dreamed of becoming a railroad magnate, but because it's likely to be the most profitable

Hunt while doing a legendary bounty?  I have found that with the current legendary skinning is not possible.

Whole animals however can still be sold. Like one deer and two turkey.

Can we hunt and skin doing regular bounties? I have yet to try, maybe tonight i will try.

The animal spawning problem is more than lobby size as animals spawned well in 20+ lobbies in the past.

The big problem is R* coding. Every update downloaded and,  with most Tuesdays, something is added or altered.

Those changes almost always break something like the recent animal extinction.

However before this recent animal extinction while i did have animals nothing else was spawning. Like hideouts, ambushes, ect.

Smaller lobby size, 5-8 players, and private/solo lobbies would help frame rates as well as spawning.

Why play if there are no animals and stuff like hideouts don't spawn or another players is already doing it when you get there.

R*  needs to hire some coders that can help fix this mess.

R* then needs to end their weather sim madness and dial down the weather changes.

Just ditching all fog, sand storms, and that, i can't see squat, glow would make my very happy.

If they take away that silly weather engine of theirs, it would solve a lot already, I think. It would certainly take off a load from the server and maybe get us players a more stable lobby to reside in. Plus, we'd indeed have a lot better visibility.

The "Weather System" is a joke.......

I mean we get every storm except Blizzards and that was in the intro of the game.......

I wouldn't mind the weather system if the storms were occasional instead of often.  Rain should not be happening all the time in New Austin. I understand it for Saint Denis but pull back on that too we don't need a Thunderstorm and Rain every night. I mean R* should invest in normal cloudy days no rain, no thunder, no lightning, just cloudy. Cloudy does not equal more fog R*........ Up the Clear Days too.

Not every cloudy sky brings rain within 5 seconds and sometimes they don't bring any at all......I mean they exists R*.......Cloudy Days No Rain exists

Nothing worse than going to take photos/screens of your character and you hear that ever pleasant sound of rain beginning to fall which gives your character an unappealing glossy/wet appearance and you have to wait 10 years for it to stop

Aye or how about this: After it stops raining somehow its been 30 minutes past in real time and your face is still drenched.
