They really don't.

Griefing the Streaming Team is extremely childish behaviour by the people in that thread.

Also R* has been introducing anti griefing measures since the first Update.

Sadly their anti-greifing measures are rather half-assed and don't solve things exactly, it still allows room for it. They want greifing to be in the game as it makes money, for example in GTAO due to compulsive purchases which is a scummy move and look what it turned the game into, it's still doing somewhat ok because of originally not being driven by such hunger for money.RDO on the other hand is build from the ground up with that in mind. And then GTA6 Online next, built with only a public lobby type without option for playing in invite only away from all the cancer and toxicity that plagues public lobbies.

We the players can't allow them to go on about it like that.

Rockstar has literally done the exact opposite of promoting griefing gameplay with Red Dead Online.

But keep living in your bubble lol.

I'm just surprised R* skipped the part where they were supposed to try out Poker ? Is it because of the griefers interfering thus delaying the stream and so it was cancelled ?

Invite only lobbies could have solved that easily (too bad such feature doesn't exist here)

Supposedly there's a wagon with a gatling gun. Honestly, I don't think so and let's hope not. GTAO was ruined a long time ago, but $6 billion later, do they really give a fk?

*sigh*

What's wrong with people these days? Several in different sessions simply stole my killed animals from under my nose, while I was about to pick it up and either skin or store it on my horse. They don't rip it off your horse anymore, they grab it from the ground before you can.

Sent them all to hell. Number one ripped my cougar and ate a stick of dynamite while he was loading it up his horse. He insta left the session. Number 2 grabbed my perfect white tail buck, stood there watching me watching him. I was waiting for him to drop it again and grant me my hunted kill. He didn't, so I wrecked his dentals with a shotgun shot right in the kisser. Number 3 grabbed my perfect white tail deer in front of my eyes, he turned to his horse and started walking. Shot him in the back of his head and torched him and the deer with a fire bottle.

All 3 didn't retaliate or press charges. 2 of them left the session, one remained, but steered clear from me. I saw his dot on my map several times after, waiting for me to be gone again.

Really, if you want to make a few dollars with hunting, at least get your own carcasses/skins. I'm not shooting animals for you to grab!

I swear, I never shot another player before, without being shot first. I'm all for live and let live, but this took the cake. Had to at least leave them without a gain.

I really hope they don't pussy out by hiding in friendly sessions and play through it. Might help going forward. Certainly good reading to see they're seeing the issues some are anyway, lol.

Can only hope anyway. :)

You think they will outright tell you that they approve of greifing because it makes them lots of money? So naive.

Just look around you, in the game and GTAO, the evidence is there. And I'm the one who lives in a bubble? Hah, you make me laugh.

Since I have a lotta money I started giving people 3 star carcasses for free. It's just nice seeing them being grateful and waving at me etc. Some guy even texted me on xbox live thanking me. I usually give away 3 star panthers or get 2nd horse and get a Wolf for example with the panther/cougar and then drop it to some random near the butcher so he could sell it

They really do.

They should experience the same game as us in order to fully understand what some players are talking about. Good or bad. Both are a big part of the game and if R* are genuine in wanting griefing gone, they do need to know what they're up against rather than rely on what I can only assume is very inconsistent and mixed feedback.

If they stream from a protected bubble, they'll only ever experience what they do among themselves. Plus it'll be a big F.U. to those keen on friendly/invite sessions.

'We know there's griefing, we experienced it first hand. But it's tough sh*t. Make do with it'

Jokers. They deserve all they get.

*Edit. Not out of malice on my part. I agree griefing is childish and should be gone. I just feel the best way to deal with it is experience is all. :)

They have not done enough, despite the demand for private sessions they refuse to give them to us out of a misguided vision of theirs. Its why I find their stream being griefed to be a very good thing. If they experience what we been going through, they just might come to realize that nothing they do will ever put an end to griefing. Making them finally realize the futility of it and give us private sessions already. Any time Rockstar streamed in Gta Online it was always in a private session, something they cannot do in RDO. No better way to make them understand our plight than being subject to it themselves.

It sucks that griefing is a thing, but I'm glad Rockstar got griefed, it's their resistance to implementing obvious solutions that makes it such a problem, so anything that makes fools of them when it comes to their surface level anti griefing measures is a good thing. Rockstar needs to take their fingers out of their ears and listen to the simple suggestions players are making, because the simplest solutions are usually the correct ones, at the very least we need free aim sessions and invite only sessions. Griefing will always exist in any type of public lobby, private lobbies are necessary for players who want a fun session with friends where they don't want to worry about getting pulled into a gunfight against idiots with explosive ammo, and auto aim players and free aim players are just entirely incompatible and need to be separated.

I am looking at said stream on Youtube right now and they went straight to Ambarino to accept a stranger mission from Jake Addler. They did not play poker at the start from what I can see. Skimming through it I do not see them playing poker at all. What I also seen watching a bit of it, the Rockstar devs were acting like dicks and shot anyone they crossed paths with, this came back to bite them and started shooting them back in turn. Even shooting people who were in defensive. This is about 38 minutes into the stream. Their actions certainly answered a lot of questions for me.

Same, I didn't see them playing poker.

Yeah, they reached a point where they can't tell the difference between players of the community who joined them to ride along and other players who just want to grief them.

The funny part is that all of this chaos could've been avoided with a simple invite only lobby, but let's go back to what R* said in the past.

Quote

Some players just want to immerse themselves in the world, riding, hunting and fishing in peace. We want to offer these options while allowing players to coexist comfortably alongside other players in the world.

Rockstar stream team sure did "immerse themselves" in a world full of peace huh, and they sure did "coexist comfortably" with griefers who are killing them and ruining the stream for viewers.

Just let us create invite only lobbies ffs

Yeah I was watching a stream that joined the R* stream, sorry, I was mistaken.

Rockstar's entire "co-exist comfortably" logic is fundamentally flawed, comfortably co-existing with a griefer is impossible because all their tiny minds can think to do is deliberately try to make everyone they come across miserable. There are certain types of players that literally cannot comfortably exist in the same lobby as certain other types of players, they've made the public lobbies a little better, but actually fixing the issues is impossible, which is why we need lobby types.

Is it me, or is it impossible to host a story mission and invite my buddies or my posse? Does it HAVE to be with randoms?

I think... Go to replay the mission through the progress pause menu, start matchmaking, then back out to freeroam. You should now have the yellow mission marker on your map. Reform your posse, invite your mates, then travel to the mission marker and start it.

I know something like this works, apologies if I've gotten a step wrong or missed one. If I have I'm sure someone will post a correction/addition.

Rockstar getting griefed is fantastic news!! I've got to take the time to watch the video.

Rockstar has done so little to prevent griefing in their game and I hope that this serves as a wake up call to them. I'm going to Rockstar feedback and their glitch function (I have an ongoing ticket with them about, you guess it, griefing) to rub their noses in it. It's pathetic the way they run this game at this point. That new hunting mode is grief free so we know it's possible.

Talk about just desserts...
