I play daily challenges, fishing and hunting. Gold and money come naturally with the flow of the game. It's relaxing to enjoy the scenery.

I set myself micro tasks, like buy a pamphlet, upgrade my camp or buy some particular clothing item. I got most things I want.

Occasionally, I help out some lower level friends and be a body guard. The real kicker is to defeat the game without mtx.

Excuse me mister, are you saying there is a way to play solo without all those horsesh*t players?

Yes, there's still a solo session method Rockstar hasn't fixed yet.

Yep, a million times. All I see is players diving around as soon as weapons are drawn, just like in GTAO. As if most of the PvP modes weren't bad enough without everyone slamming themselves down on the deck like they've repeatedly lost the use of their lower body. It's a lame dominant strategy to break the auto aim lock that should have been refined at the testing stage of development, especially after the same approach was abused heavily in R*'s last online title.

Lol! When you come across someone who’s diving around out in a field to break your lock-on, you know it’s a player with zero experience.

It’s easier to handle than the GTAO combat roll though. When you see someone belly flop, just relax, wait for them to get up on their knees and then you press Aim, flick up and by the time they’re on their feet you got an immediate headshot. Usually anyway..

I love this, also the knowledge that, barring a super high rank unlock (or redonkulous pricing), We "auto-qualify" for almost any content dropped.

I also love this reply.  Throw in the fact that I like a few of the showdown modes a lot, & this is me to a "T".

I often play alone and I always get targeted by high level posses. I mean where is the satisfaction and/or challenge of 7 players targeting 1 player? I just parley straight away.

I’m on rank 79 now but once I’ve unlocked everything I’ll be calling it a day. I don’t see how anyone has any motivation of playing past rank 100 at this point.

I have felt the same way from time to time. I'm at 147 and enough money to buy everything (haven't yet). The only thing I enjoy is playing with a buddy. We go about our business running missions, fishing and not starting fights. I really think the game is better if you have a pardner in crime. When I lone-wolf it, it definitely gets boring fast.

Can confirm,

I'm the one who gets shot in the head after belly flopping.

How do you ALWAYS get targeted by high level posses? Do they start their griefing rampage on you? If not, can't you see them on the map? How do they ALWAYS find you? If you are blue, how do they ALWAYS find you? If you're blue, THEY can't see you on the map.

I'm confused.

I only played this online to about rank 13 then had no incentive and felt worn out, but also was griefed 90 percent of the time. Seeing such high rank people I am amazed people can do that. Like Hugh said earlier I'm waiting until that Defensive mode comes I haven't been able to even touch it for 3 weeks now it's dread, hope this new thing solves it wouldn't mind playing it with that I can't even experience the online properly yet.

I get ya. It's best to play with friends. Most of my crew have stopped playing though. I play because I love hunting, fishing and the scenery.

Yes. As a low level, I got pushed around a lot too. Same as in gta online back in 2014. I pursued to climb up the ranks, because just after release, it is the "happy" time. Loopholes still existed.

I was sure Rockstar would nerf and patch anything that would give me an edge. The best time for me in gta were the billionaire days. The rage of getting griefed was also a incentive to become the biggest shark in the pond.

Right now I would team up with a few friends. If your friends left, join a posse in the looking for team mates section of the forum .

I do this aswell, and I decided I wanna get "into" the pamphlet/crafting game. I crafted 10 special miracle tonics (found that pamphlet in a treasure) but now there's nothing special/useful to craft in my catalogue - so I think I will have to spend a few dollars on useful pamphlets. poison throwing knife? that sounds pretty cool tbh.

Jeez.  Started fishing with a radom near a spot where Sockeye are always in full supply. He leaves after a getting thier stash, then less than a minute later.  Boom, I'm shot in the back, and he/she runs off.  Is not even fishing in peace sacred anymore?

Solo/passive, actually, there's more than one. I don't even play that often anymore but when I do, I'm in one 90% of the time. I still like doing the on call missions and you can't do those in a solo session.

I don't like to hate on this game all the time. I did have grief in GTA but reliving it again in this I dunno it's stressful when we all go through it again like they learned nothing, they never cared or well it's planned by the company again. Been playing with 2 friends only one plays it my other one and me quit for now. It's pretty brutal when yer up against people with all those cards. I get what yer saying of course still gonna be wait'n ha. GTA was the experiment, this game well they did the same thing again but with more game mechanic frustrations with survival.

Do you mean the stranger missions? Because they work in the solo sessions I use

Got griefed by 4 dudes in 2 different posse's up by Willard's rest when I was looking for the cougar in these parts. They was spamming ex ammo and switching in and out of slippery. Had a great time would participate again... Didn't even wanna fight back because I wanna keep bounty low and I had no chance anyway with them downing my horse and unable to equip my right weapons. First time I in a really long time I have felt powerless.

Really? Hmmm... I was getting ready to log out for the day but I'll try it now.

I know that when I tried it using the previous method, it didn't work.

I'll give it a shot now and see what happens. When I tried it with another method, it caused all kind of problems for me.

UPDATE: It just occurred to me we might be referring to different things. I was referring to accessing and replaying missions like "Kill Them, Each..." from my list of missions that I can replay or from quick join.

But, to my surprise, I was able to access the mission and play thru it with no problem. Thing is, upon completion of the mission, I was put in a lobby with other people.

I've been playing for hours in a solo lobby and  checked before going into the mission. I had been the only one in that lobby for hours. After the mission, I was thrown into a lobby with 45 other people, so I'm glad I was going to log out for the day any way. But at least now I know I can finish off my solo session with a mission if I wish.

Yeah I will piggyback the sentiment that after rank 100 I almost completely stopped paying attention to and caring about my rank, I will occasionally check my exp progress to see how far off from the next mailbox treasure map I am. Other than that I never think about it anymore, which is honestly nice as I was only really paying attention to it in the first place due to rank unlocks I wanted.

My biggest issue (and my B&M for this post) with the game right now is the lack of content, especially considering the missing things from RDO1. The bugs annoys the sh*t out of me at the times, but having worked in a game development/QA environment at a few different companies I'm a little more lenient on bugs than most here. That said I hate how tight lipped they are about these things, communication goes a long way in situations like this, so in that regard they get a big fat F.

As for what I still do in the game? I spend a bit of time playing with a work buddy that doesn't get a lot of time to play due to his family so he's only like rank 35 or so compared to my 120, most of the time I'm playing solo lately though. But honestly I'm still enjoying the game world and the game mechanics enough to just enjoy spending time in the game. I don't typically log on with anything in particular in mind to do but it's so easy to pick one simple task and have it snowball into a couple hours worth of playing. A good example would be loading into Ambarino, if I spawn up in the snow I'll go hit up Sadie's place for the jewelry, see if the Colter gang hideout pops, go hit up Felix see what mission he has, usually only do the NPC killing ones or on the hunt from him. Usually end up with a buck or bull elk pelt on the back of the horse so at that point I'll head towards Strawberry, checking the remaining gang hideouts in the snow and then hit hanging dog ranch for the jewelry/gang hideout. Continue on down towards Owanjila and see if I can get the ambush to pop, then there's the cougar spawn further down the path near the creek and then continue till you hit Strawberry.

Depending on if you do a stranger mission for Felix and how many (if any) gang hideouts you can get to spawn that stuff alone could easily take an hour (whatever you want to hunt/fish along the way included), then at that point I'd stop and think about what I would like to do in the game that day lol.

Edit: I keep calling Flaco "Felix", gotta stop doing that, clearly don't visit the guy enough atm lol.

Disturbing

I don’t know. I don’t grief so I don’t see how I’d appear as a red dot? I do however kill players who attempt to kill me? And maybe always was an exaggeration I’ve spawned into the game a few times recently and been killed by a posse for no reason.

I don’t see how they can revive it from here. This game will be completely forgotten about once the GTA6 announcement comes

Grief the griefers.. It is priceless.

You have to do what you feel is right. It's just a game.

Take it from an old geezer: You will be screwed by people you trust in real life. You will land flat on your face many times. What matters is that you get up back on your feet and move on. You can wait until this world becomes a better place or change yourself.

Could someone tell me what glitch allows someone to kill you in your camp? I was AFK, on my phone, in my camp, flag up, and suddenly got headshot by a Bolt Action.

My friend warned me about this when I first started playing because he was killed multiple times so I never assumed the flag worked. I haven't seen anything about either, something is wonky about it hope they fix it. The boundaries broken on it maybe or were you in the middle?
