Terrain can be so annoying in this game. I’ve had so many cheese deaths and free kills from falling and taking a whole minute to get back up. The frustration that builds up from these moments is insane.

 

Never get near any rocks during a gunfight. No seriously, dont. Only in this game will I witness my character slip upwards on a rock!!

I understand the 'un-climbable' boundaries but some of the climbs I watched my character struggle with is just laughably bad.

 

horses have been pissing me off lately. I've tried to steer my horse right between a decent size gap, only to have it decide 'NAHHHH, FACE INTO ROCK IS RIGHT PATH.'

 

.... I understand that horses are not cars, they have minds of their own but why did R* think it a great idea to have them auto-steer during 'almost' wrecks? I run into so much more cause of this. And don't get me started on my horse stopping dead cause a 2 inch high rock is suddenly impassable.

Gotta love our brain dead horses! Mine likes to run full speed into a wagon. Her FAVORITE is face planting me straight into a tree.

Half my health is gone and the lousy mule takes forever to get up! Even when she's not critically injured.

 

Anyone remember when CDPR joked that they made Roach's mechanics so perfect, that they couldn't possibly ever recreate it. So they nerfed it down or something along those lines?

 

Then on April Fool's they added a small patch that completely made Roach glitchy af. Finally, they even made fun of it in game during a stranger quest! 

 

We could bitch about how sh*tty the horses are in this game and Rockstar wouldn't acknowledge it or patch it...

 

I guess the horse testicles were more important than the horse AI.

Why do some stranger missions still make you kill other players? Theres a reason i dont care for that. I suck... If i wanted to go against other players i will play showdown or something(actually i did today). And if they are going to stay with these "player assassination" missions at least let me cancel stranger missions. Or give me more than 5 minutes. You get more than that for the stage coach hijackings.

You already know its an assassination before you accept, Just walk away and dont accept Simples

My suggestion to any new players would be to level up slowly since once you've leveled up there's nothing else to do.

 

I wish there was a way to level down, like hunting 1 star game, picking weeds, shooting and missing barns etc.

Seriously R*, me and my friend should get f*cking rewarded for all the work we put into making people leave the session if they dont behave. Feel like a f*cking sheriff at this point.

 

Last night, minding my own business, came across a blue dot. Waved, as always. BAM. He missed, I killed him, and kept killing him until he left. Ok, great. Now what was I doin? Oh crap now I have a bounty to pay, so I gotta head by Rhodes. Bounty paid, going out on the street. BAM. Someone else takes a shot. Here we go again. I go steamroller on him and while doing so some other stranger level 21 or some sh*t starts shooting at me. Luckily my friend spawns in at this point, so we take on one each. They get hammered into the ground until one of them leaves, not long after they’re all gone and we can continue doing what we were supposed to be doing from the start.

 

Gotta say though, I’m enjoying myself. Just think I should get paid for it instead of having to pay for it. It mixes things up between finishing the challenges, missions and various other stuff.

 

So thank you for existing, ”griefers” - you’re great target practice.

ROCKSTAR FIX YOUR DAMN HORSES!!!!!

 

It's pretty ridiculous they somehow handle worse than the last game a decade ago. Sure maybe that's some perception bias but I NEVER had this many issue riding. Ever.

 

Magnetic Attraction: Riding along the horse will brush up against a Rock. Not collide with, not try to jump, it will simply brush up against a rock and become literally STUCK for 5-10 seconds. It's bothersome to be sure but especially so when being shot at. Sometimes I will stick to trees or fences but generally this occurs with rocks and rock formations.

 

Collisions: We all know this too well. We lose control of our horse and end up colliding with the very object we're desperately trying to avoid. Pull LEFT but horse runs to the RIGHT and into a tree/rock/cactus. It's really one of the dumbest aspects of this game. Nothing ruins the immersion like running into objects you're actually steering AROUND!. Happens being shot at. Happens riding alone. Happens while trotting. Happens while running full speed. Happens so often I can't believe the coding made it out of QC

 

HILLS - My horse cannot reliably go up or down a 3' incline without falling. No joke, I've fallen on "inclines" that didn't even require sprinting up on foot. I've taken pictures but what's the point? So people can see that yes there's a tiny hill there? It's baffling. I get that there are some spots which are perilous but come ON man, a 20 degree gentle slope should not make my horse fall down and suddenly need reviving.

 

Where Is My Horse?: The fact your horse doesn't spawn directly next to us is dumb. "You're horse was unable to locate you". WTF? We're IN A VIDEO GAME! You can program the horse to land on my damn head if you want! WHY am I running through Cholla Springs or Grizzlies looking for a road so my horse can "find" me? IN REAL LIFE DO HORSES ONLY LOCATE PEOPLE ON ROADS?????????

 

We spend too much time on these things to have these many issues.

Seems like a good time to post this frustration how I wasted a half hour of life:

 

Log in, try to do stranger mission, doesn't start. Start "Right side of the tracks" to complete lasso 5 enemies challenge. One of the players is a complete noob running into the middle of the camp and dies. I'm on the side of the camp on my horse picking off enemies then I get stuck to a tree. Enemies keep shooting at me and there are more than there should be because I can't move and the other 2 players suck. I end up dying mission over so I cancel and try again. Next try I get permanent loading screen have to reload game.

 

Wasted about 30 minutes of life, no xp or money earned. Thanks Rockstar.

i sometimes get that error while playing rdo, it has to be on r*'s end.

Am I the only one who doesn't have issues with horses lol?

 

I dunno if it's cause everybody mashes the sprint button like a madman or what, but I rarely have issues with them. Hold X and they'll navigate through tricky areas on their own. Only time I really have issues with them is when I'm jumping up to something, like the traintracks in the mash north of St Denis, sometimes they just decide to break their legs and drop all my hunting carcasses.

 

Also if you're having port issues in 2019 something's f*cked really. Should never be an issue these days.

Yes its there end but if you forward the corrects ports you will reduce these errors dramatically. Your machine will be able to talk with there server protocols a lot better 

 

Apart from the last fortnight i used to play 5 days a week at least 10 to 12 hours daily and all but when they do updates i would get maybe one disconnect a week. Update time is always heavy on the servers but you must remember your playing P"P as well so you need to be able to stay very stable as your machine has to send all info to every players machine in the lobby as well, One player with a very poor connection will also affect your conection as well causing lag and latency issue as will playing with other players half way round the planet no matter how good the connections are 

 

Look at it like this say your on the telephone from Europe to west coast USA there is a short time span between you and the person your conversing with maybe half a second or could be more that is the same for gaming and that is one of the causes for latency/lag issues 

 

I only play with folk in my time zone and it really does help, If some one from a far distant zone joins i jump to another one

I don't know if this is called victim blaming or gaslighting? I'm confused by all the proper terms these days.

 

These are widely known issues and nobody needs to be told how to ride. We're well aware. We've spent a lot of time on these horses and did back in the original RD. The issue is: Rockstar needs to fix their broken horses.
