I accidentally told the game to load into GTA Online, but my laptop isn't powerful enough to load it, so I cant change the settings. I also don't have a controller so I can't use one to change it on the loading screen. Any suggestions? I have tried uninstalling then reinstalling and deleting my RSG account. I need to change the settings to load directly into storymode.

Welcome to the forums... hopefully I'll get you somewhere.

On your computer, go to PC\Documents\Rockstar Games\GTA V.
Inside this folder, there should be a file called "settings.xml". Open this file with a text editor like notepad. This file contains all the graphical-based settings for GTA V (and actually for people on higher end systems, you can get "better than what the game allows normally" by changing some values in this file).

Crucially, if your laptop isn't a high spec, you'll want to use lower graphics settings, so setting anything with "quality" in the name to a 1 or 0 preferably should certainly lower the graphics down a bit to help.
MSAA usually reduces the fps in any game to favour quality, so using a lower number there will help.

Further down in the file you can see a "ScreenWidth" and "ScreenHeight" setting - this is for your X and Y resolution. As an example, my laptop has this set as 1600 and 900 respectively, to achieve the 1600x900 resolution.
"Windowed" being set to 1 gives you GTA V in a windowed display.

Good luck and let us know how you get on!

Graphics isn't the problem. Please re-read the question.

Sorry I didn't follow, can you try explaining the problem differently?

By this, "I accidentally told the game to load into GTA Online", do you mean that you set the "Startup Flow" setting to load online rather than single player?

If yes, out of sheer curiosity, how is it that your laptop is powerful enough to load single player (GTA V) but not powerful enough to load GTA Online - or do you mean that when you load GTA Online from the loading screens, it takes a long time to get into a session? (Because that's 'normal' with the advice being to load single player before online, and that's usually being a bit quicker).

If you want to re-set the startup flow setting so that you can load GTA V instead, navigate to your profile (PC\Documents\Rockstar Games\GTA V\Profiles\<profile name and numbers here> and inside that folder, delete the "pc_settings.bin" file and give that a go.

If it's not that file, it's the "cfg.dat" file.
