Make it or break it is a big sentence tbh, I mean whether it's bad or good update, players will jump into the game and try the update for a month then they will complain until December then they will thank Rockstar, etc, this is a circle will never be finished

I agree Naturalist was a decent update. But it failed to do what all the other updates since Frontier Pursuits failed to do: give us a real sense of progression in the game. 
Give us a reason to log in that lasts longer than 20 or 30 role levels, which for most of us only took 1-4 weeks. 

Since Moonshiners, updates have been way too few, too far between, unimaginative, copy/paste. 
Naturalist was only really liked by a small niche of players. It's the kind of content R* could have released 2-3 years from now, after all the other typical cowboy-stuff was implemented in the game.

The bounty hunter expansion wasn't bad. Some of those Infamous Bounties are fun. But - again - the same thing applies to it that I laid out above. It didn't keep me logging in, after I got to Level 30.

The game doesn't need an update that is just not worse than bounty hunter expansion. That bar is way too low. 
The game needs a Big Bang. Something big, exciting, substantial. Something that turns around the energy in the community / player base.

Yeah, I thought I'd add it 'make or break it' line as it could be an update that also changes the way we play Red Dead Online like they did when they made changes to some of the animations being sped up which some people hated at the time and still do, and also if there are Story Missions added also that we need to progress through to get required benefits I hope that you only need yourself to complete rather than need more than one player to actually start them, like the current Story Missions. 

But yeah, whether it's good or bad, it's not going to matter in the long run but hopefully it's an update that's going to make Red Dead Online what it should and could be.

I'll be playing because I love the game, I am happy that we are getting content whether it's good or bad, personally I enjoyed the Naturalist update really, I loved living in the wildlife, I am looking forward step into the criminals life

Exactly, but as we all know, some people don't feel this way and just want Mexico  

 

Even though there isn't anything to do there yet, based upon all the updates we've had so far... but hopefully this update is substantial enough though, and it looks to be... hopefully there is also a Role or two unrelated to the criminal underworld we'll be getting involved in... which doesn't seem to be part of any Role we'll need to be part of... 

 

I guess we all find out tomorrow.

Frankly, I don't even care about the update details in the current position I'm in, I'm just glad it's releasing next week since I won't have much to do next Tuesday.

I'm a bit excited that something is coming to be honest. But I'm leary that all it will be is just more money making and I don't need any more money so it will not be a reason for me to play. I want worthy things to spend money on. My accumulation of money and gold was based on hopes of future character and role progression and new business type roles that would require frequent spending to keep the business operating. If that isn't in this then no point accumulating more gold and money since there is nothing to use it on as it is now.

 

I mean seriously, I'm the richest character in the RDO world. Why on earth would my character still be grinding for morsels from NPCs?

 

I guess I could try to see if I can get to a million dollars by the time they finally give us something to spend on. Nah....

 

I'm actually looking more forward to what the "most player requested" additions will be though I know the #1 request won't be in there just like the last time they added "most player requested" things . I'm also looking to see what long lasting issues will be fixed.

am curious if / what QoL changes or fixes are in the update. Wilderness Fast travel and efficient cooking were good additions. We could use many more of those

Yes! The wilderness fast travel was a God send for me. I used it to death. I hope they make it possible to craft multiple tonics at once too. The multiple meat was great!

Yes, there will always be at least one Outlaw Pass with every update, it’s R* own battle pass type of thing and to lock some QOL things away from us until we earn enough XP to get them and even locking them away from newer players or those that did not buy previous Outlaw Passes, it’s how R* makes a little bit of profit off new players too that don’t haven enough gold to buy the pass 100 times over too like long serving players.

 

I’m missing the Fast Travel from the Wilderness Camp on Xbox as only started playing on Xbox when the game came to Xbox Game Pass, just sucks as much as not having Outlaw Pass 1 on PC.

 

Anyway, I digress, expect Outlaw Pass 6 and a Halloween type of Pass, or possibly just Outlaw Pass 6 and 7 and no Halloween type of Pass this year, or all three, who knows but Outlaw Pass 6 is pretty much 100% a given as I’ve previously state since each update we will get one!

I hope it's a far sight better than OP5 was. Maybe in each OP they should throw in a thing or two from previous ones for those who weren't around when the previous ones were released. That wilderness travel is a huge thing. When I went onto PS one day I didn't have that and it really sucked.
