If you would make a GTA:SA DLC - who would be the main protagonist?

For me it would be Sweet. My first mission would be after the main-story last mission (End of the line ending - after the final cutscene) and the mission plot would be, that you need to look after your gang by capturing more weapons, cars, etc. Then in the next missions, at some point CJ would leave to some town (i thought about LC) and from that moment the story will slowly turn badly for Sweet and the gang - the gang will start to have problems without CJ (like CJ was carrying them mostly at this point) and Sweet will be the easy target for the other gangs because he's much more weaker than CJ. The ending mission in the game will show Sweet's brutal death to other gang members, while still trying to defend the hood - and after that Ballas will take over the hood (like in GTA V - Grove is controlled by ballas) and they will rule from now on.

What's your thoughts? Let your imagination go :)

I would love to be Ryder's character, I want to see what happened between Smoke and Tenpenny. How the deal went and all that.

I would like to explore the LS gang scene through a different pov from GSF so maybe a character in the Aztecas could be my protagonist

like Jose (the Aztecas OGA seen confronting Carl in the missions Cesar Vialpando)

Jose seems like a tough guy yet is enough of a blank slate that they could go anyway with his personality. We could explore the rivalry between the Vagos and Aztecas, have a focus on lowrider racing and stuff like that, and Cesar(VLA boss), Sunny and Hazer(other VLA OGs) could be the Sweet, Smoke and Ryder to Jose though you dont wanna make it too similar to GSF ofc.

I'd complete the snowy Liberty City, then do a mission strand just before the beginning of the game, where CJ steals cars for Joey Leone, and does other things while in Liberty City. At the end of the game, CJ would be able to go back and do another storyline.  Leones, Forellis and Sindaccos attack him on sight. However, the triads won't because of his connections to Woozie. Porter Tunnel and the Callahan Bridge won't exist, neither will the new subway. The old subway from LCS's "Bringing the House Down" would still be used, which means Fort Staunton will also be present.

Back in San Andreas, CJ would do a storyline where he goes on tour with Madd Dogg due to being his manager.

I know people may not like this, but I would like to see the story from Tenpenny's point of view. So if people really don't like it, it would also be great to have another point of view (like in GTA IV's DLCs). Maybe Ryder's.

You know I always thought SA can have levels styled DLC with different protagonist for each level

For Example

Hernandez

And we can see how he joined crash to please his mother by being a good guy or something before meeting tenpenny and then his trip ti expose Tenpenny

We can tie all of CJ's victims together by hernandez or even how Cesar figured out smoke's betrayal

Ryder

And we play as Ryder before CJ's comeback  and sometimes before the his death

Cesar

I think this one guy can have his own DLC he's the only character other than CJ that does something most of the time but as he only did something "most of the time" he can't have his full DLC

Actually if I remember correctly wa YouTuber had the same idea and did that using dyom and he did a fantastic job ngl

Sweet: the adventure is over after end of the line. Grove street has a lot of territories and has won. Also it feels weird having CJ as secndary character.

Ryder: his story is too short

Hernandez: hes too much of a pushover and has no influence and no charisma

I think that in true Rockstar fashion it should be Brian, except he was too young to be any help... Altho I dont think they would have any problem in retconing him "a bit" Victor Vance style just to make him be able to do something. Altho in my opinion I would just choose a new character after EOL, a new story.

Woozie.

I would probably pick a character that starts in a completely different area to the main story, just for a change of pace. I was going to say Toreno at first but then I remembered he's not exactly known for getting his hands dirty, despite his reputation. Too many eyes on him. I know I made a jab at Woozie earlier on, but I don't think it would be a bad idea to have somebody from the Triads as a playable character. Their business before we are introduced at the betting shop is largely unknown, so it's really up to us to imagine what we could be getting up to. There's ample room for crossovers a la Three Leaf Clover from IV too, as we're involved with CJ but only to a point. A lot of the knowledge given to CJ through San Fierro is through cutscene visits and phone calls, such as being told that Toreno's helicopter is nearby or who the Loco Syndicate are. If you want to be contrarian for the sake of it, there's also the Vietnamese gang who are seen to be just as violent and active through-out the second act of the plot. Sure, we're on the losing side, but when has that ever stopped us? It isn't like we're playing as upstanding citizens the rest of the time.

Failing that, I vote José from the lowrider meet. He's given exactly one opportunity to see CJ and give the DLC some tenuous link to the main storyline and then we're off on our own. Again, we're playing as an opposing side but I'd much rather experience that than yet another run through of this Grove stuff.

Completely different; I want to see GTA SA 2001 DLC.

You play as a new OG in Grove Street; after the events of 92, things gradually get peaceful. The gangs all sign peace treaties, the crime rate declines, and the Johnson family leaves crime behind.

Keeping with the anti drug theme, all 4 gangs have to unite against a new enemy threatening the state: SPANK.

The Los Santos 4 go to war with a Redneck Mafia and two cartels attempting to push SPANK on the streets.

Yes, wild, but keeping with the optimistic tones "good guy vs bad guy" style of the 3D era.

Ryder is the only right answer in my opinion

But also a storyline where you play as Andre from Gray Imports would be interesting

I feel like none of the existing characters feel at home in all areas of the map to really be the main protagonist of the game. Story wise each one has its own place in their respective corner of the map. We could go the GTA V way and introduce 3 protagonists, one for each city. I think Sweet and Ryder, while popular choices, are too fleshed out and you already know everything about them. From all the existing characters Cesar is my best pick for Los Santos; known to the audience, but still relatively unknown when talking about his life story. For San Fierro The Truth is an interesting pick, maybe a little unstable and would result in some wacky ass missions. The alternative would be T-Bone, an action packed and stern character, mainly used to introduce us to all the illegal backdealings of the SA world. There he would eventually meet with Woozie, which would later be used as the last character in Las Venturas, establishing his role in the city and fighting with the mafia to open his casino.

I was going to suggest The Truth, but as he says, he doesn't drive. This is contested when we see him drive to Area 69 but who knows? Maybe he's grown more confident since. Taking this into account, maybe a string of missions where The Truth takes various hallucinogens and roams the countryside tripping his tits off would be entertaining but good luck marketing that one. I agree with the stance that we should be as removed from the original plot as possible. Any DLC for the game, however hypothetical, should not start in LS. It's too well established.

The last bit I agree with. Maybe we could play with a minor character. Lets say a DLC that revolves around Guppy. Who says no? You start in San Fierro doing gigs for Woozie, then you go join CJ on the Caligula's heist, and we get some cool missions

Someone suggested T-Bone and I like that idea. Maybe you work as Toreno's right hand man, until you get capped by Cesar & CJ.

The only issue with T-Bone is what happens after he's killed? Do you go back to the beginning? Or do you play as somebody else?

I'd say you don't get to see him die. Maybe the storyline just ends, or maybe you just get to free roam instead of getting to the pier 69 mission. There could be so many missions that intersect

Wrong Side of the Tracks: T-Bone wants to meet with the Vagos at San Fierro, but then the vagos get killed so the deal falls apart.

Just Business: The russian mobsters could be T-Bone's third party men trying to find a compromise with Big Smoke, but end up failing so they try to kill him

Catalyst: Maybe T-Bone was instructed by Toreno to steal the train, but he finds out it's an ambush so he leaves

Gray Imports: The writers at Rockstar could establish a connection between Toreno/T-Bone and Andre (technically the Ballas link them both together)

I think a Guppy/Ryder side story would be awesome though.

I'd love to play a DLC where you play as Guppy and the whole game is just rigging stuff for your boss so he thinks he's winning things despite his blindness

Caesar for sure! He is CJ's #1 homie and there is so much going on with him that CJ is practically unaware of in game. You could have an entirely different set of missions in LS centered around his gang and he has just as much reason to get cash when he's exiled as well. SF could find a way to shove him into the loco syndicate and give them more screen time while the desert could focus on the expansion of the mechanic shop which IMO I always imaged as the characters' main bread and butter despite the multitude of businesses they start. LV is interesting because I think whoever develops it could go crazy and give him a completely unrelated story to CJ's casino Hijinx like really go nuts maybe do something involving drug trafficking for a mob boss  or getting involved with corrupt politicians. It wouldn't fit into the main story much but it doesn't matter too much that would be the fun of it. His story could cap off like CJ's too with him reestablishing his gang and potentially even having to prove himself top dog or something which would be an interesting juxtaposition to CJ's return.

I've always imagined any DLC game being a prequel similar to the two Stories games, possibly being based on the Introduction

Someone who dies in the main San Andreas storyline

Either Ryder, Big Smoke, or T-Bone

Heck, maybe have the prequel's protagonist be Brian Johnson or maybe even Beverly Johnson

Cesar too

Denise Robinson. I mean, we haven't explored her backstory at all, including her involvement with Grove Street Families. Plus, after playing Danganronpa Another Episode: Ultra Despair Girls, I figured that GTA needs a first female protagonist.

I am even planning to write an fanfiction adapt of San Andreas Stories involving Denise as the main characters and have two DLC stories as well, just like GTA IV. Characters from Vice City made appearances as well in my story, especially Candy Suxx (reason why is because she was explored much in Vice City and actually wanted a backstory of her life).

Here is the draft so far! (feel free to suggest some ideas and/or give out advice!): https://docs.google.com/document/d/1OPVUUd8jdiU14DQw1EVXF5umdcrvcX74P5DD7-BIuAo/edit?usp=sharing

Playing as Mike Toreno would be interesting, seeing him supposedly work for loco syndicate and such.

Ryder would be the best to play I guess, more because of his personality.

And as a Vagos on the damn train

I wouldn't want to "treat" those iconic original characters as new protagonists, so it would have to be a totally new character. I was thinking Ballas protagonist as a "tables turned" kind of thing, but it should be something else than gang related. In GTA 6 protagonist -wishlist I suggested a native american character, so why not here too. GTA:SA has already native american npcs with some other references to the culture, and the vast countryside areas would really work in favor for the theme and story I'm imagining. GTA:SA is so "deep", that you could make a really interesting DLC without including any character from the main story and still have that unique GTA:SA vibe. Obviously those og characters are amazing and that's the thing, they're almost too "sacred" to be messing with and fan service is something that rarely works.

Spoiler

ffs. R*, this game has three huge diverse cities and rural areas, with the most amazing lore, but instead of "stories" addition, all we got that was that lousy "Introduction"???

I'll go with Caesar, he had a big impact in the vanilla game, and i feel like he deserves a DLC.
