tldtms
I'm having a problem with the displaying of the WHOLE game. When I use the the Cat 3.2 drivers, everything is fine. Its when I upgraded to the 3.4 when I started having problems. The game will start up, but as soon as the first introscreen comes on I cant even make out what it looks like. Its a strange problem. It even messes up the video settings for windows. Only if I hit teh Windows key and end the game will everything go back to normal. I thought it was a refreshe rate problem, but after many tests I dont think thats it. Of course if I downgrade back to the Cat 3.2 drivers everything is fine. Does anyone else have this problem? If so did you fix it? I'm at work right now so I cant do a screen shot. I cant even change any of the settings in the game, because I cant make out what the menu says. FOr now I just downgraded to the cat 3.2 but I would like the preformence boost of the Cat 3.4's

Paulie
I had some problems too with the 3.4's. Somehow I can't lock the 4xAA in direct3d options. It isn't on when I'm on a game. With the previous one's I had no problems. I just installed them back, because they seem so much better. Why should you format? Just install the previous one's like I did. Yeah, a typo I still can't lock the AA with the 3.4's. Don't know what causes it
Rubadubcubb
Ohh wow.... I saw this post as i was downloading the 3.4 Cat. drivers... I mean i saw what you guys said and all but you never know if the drivers work on your computer.. So i installed, restarted, put my direct 3d prefrences all the way full, and then i started up the game.... looked great but when i pushed "ESC" to look at my stats, and then went back to the game.... The only thing i saw was some corruption, i got out of the game and reinstalled the Cat. 3.2 drivers as fast as i could... by the way i have the ATI 9700 Pro... not the AIW but most likely a very similar card... Homer Simpson
3.4's run perfectly on mine. You do however need to set framelimiter on, either by setting it on whilst the 3.2's are installed or by deleting the .set file in My Documents/GTAVC user files. But considering the game looks crap on any card with FL off (unless you walk everywhere ) it's not really a problem.
GTAGuy
Em....I have the Cat 3.4's and I have had absolutely no problems with any game I've played... No probs with AA or Aniso on any game either....

tldtms
DING DING! THe problem is with teh save game files! Delete the gta_vc.set file and reload the game and it works perfect. I guess the gta_vc.set file contains information about video drivers. Anyways, hope this helps others. This also might solve some other problems. jimmsta
um... nope... I erased the set file, and my game still crashes on my Radeon9700Pro.... I'm sticking with the CAT3.2's from omegacorner.com ... Oh well... Half-Life will have to do D3D for a little while longer...
