4 easy gold bars

I'm guessing some people have already discovered this but the "make 100 camp stews" belt buckle challenge is incredibly easy to max out quickly. When you open the list of stews to craft, cook low quality(stringy meat, herptile meat), then cook medium quality(plump bird, crustacean meat, mutton), then cook high quality(venison, prime beef), then superior (big game meat), then cook cripps' special stew. That counts as 5 camp stews made.

 

Once you've cooked a superior quality stew or cripps recipe, the lower ones get greyed out until you switch sessions. So even if you only eat superior or special stew, it's worth making the 3 lower quality stews first.
 

You could probably get this buckle done in a day or 2 if you just kept switching sessions and cooking 5, reload into new session and repeat. 
 

Super easy way to get 4 gold bars, figured I'd throw it out there for anyone looking for some easy gold.

I finally caught up on that a few months back, that I almost always had more than enough for the "crap" stews too.

 

Now I've turned over that belt buckle 3 times or so

 

I don't think Rockstar will "fix" it, since I still hit "y" to open my moonshine door and then accidentally  hit "b" fast and get "1/2 Drunken Player Interaction", which has been known for some time. It seems they don't care much anymore.

I doubt it too. I was just being smarmy since R* tends to fix things fast when it benefits players. But who knows what "fixes" this next update will bring....not to mention the new problems.

You have repeatable belt buckles, under "progress" and then "awards" in the player menu.

You can do some of them as many as 10 ("X") times, resetting them each time for .4 gold. 

 

When you go to the stew pot, at the trader camp, you'll see a list of stews. Originally I would only make

the "best" stew (the special one.) Then I found out about the repeatable awards (buckles.) As "Rockstarsucks33" (ha, 32 of them before him even )

says, you can make the LOWER stews first. 

 

So ever day(or actually session at that camp), you can make the low quality stew, then the next quality stew, then the superior or whatever stew and finally the top "special stew."

So of the 100 stews for resetting the belt buckle, to get .4 gold for resetting, you could easily do 5 of them per play session (more if you logged into fresh sessions/camps.)

You are only limited by how many stews you feel like making by how much of the ingredients you have; if you wanted to you could do 100 or more stews in the same day, they only

"gray out" as being made during that same login session.

Or just not grind it and earn it naturally over time. I spent a lot of time at the start of the game camped out on the roof at Saint Denis killing the law. It turned out to be a pointless thing to do because I maxed out on all the shooting award over time anyway.

I burned $100,000 down into gold by buying the maximum amount of provisions from a General Store, then discarding the lot. Rinse and repeat for the belt buckle on itemized store purchases (already maxxed out the "spent dollars on merchants" buckle via horses and guns).

 

Didn't even bother for efficiency, either: I bought dozens of liquor bottles on top of the bread and biscuits.

i got only 0.4 gold or it!

does anybody now why i didnt get the 4 gold bars for it?

did i do something wrong maybe or have rockstar nerfed this reward?

i was kind of disappointed only to get 0.4 gold for it instead of 4 gold bars.

You can repeat the award a total of 10 times.

 

So, the .4 gold reward multiplied by 10 comes out to 4 gold bars.

But you can make 4 gold bars a lot quicker doing missions than you can making a thousand stews. I'm not sure why anyone thinks this is a good idea.

There is a very easy way thats semi afk can and be done in 200 minutes or just over 3 hours.  Get a bounty over $10 then surrender to npc bounty hunters.  Turn off help notifications 1st.  Then you sit in jail.  Every 20 mintues reset the award.  Kind of lame to do it intentionally if you ask me, but if it happens semi naturally like you play and all of a sudden npc bh are coming for you...well you might go do some chores for 45 mintues.

I saw this award but I didn't understand how to get arrested. How do you surrender yourself? They always just kill me.

@Rockstarsucks33 when you see the prompt that they are hunting you, you put away your weapons and you just stand there.  As they approach, you will see in the bottom right a prompt to surrender.  I think for me its hold the aim button and then press x button.  Your character raises her hands.  The bh approach very slowly if you move at all by mistake they will start shooting.  I think you may need to step away from things like your horse as it may interfere with the prompt.  Also make sure it isnt a player because they will kill you 99% of the time.

So you think every stupid suggestion should go unchallenged? What I'm try to do is help other players. Making stews is not an easy 4 gold bars. It's an extremely tedious 4 gold bars and there are much easier methods. Am I supposed to just not comment and let others waste their time?

This was a post to give people a heads up about an easy way to EARN GOLD BARS. This person has only been negative and has not posted any helpful comments to add to the discussion. If you don't have anything constructive to add, don't post anything. Very simple elementary school concept: if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything.

This person keeps responding even though they've already expressed their dissatisfaction with the original post. What's ridiculous is the fact you think making a topic on a subject magically makes you immune to criticism on the subject at hand. Not to put too fine a point on it, but if you're response to someone pointing out there are faster and easier ways to achieve the objective of your thread title is to both waste staff's time dealing with a completely pointless report, and complain about another member within the thread in question, then you need to either grow a thicker skin or stop using the internet.

I never bothered with Spam Stew before because I assumed R* set it so only Superior or Special Recipe stews (the ones that give gold cores) counted to the stats and awards...

 

...I mean, with the way they've treated us in so many other things, I didn't think they would make it this easy.
