4nsmiley
I always had mixed feeling about GTA IV. I didn't like it when it first came out, I think most likely due to the jealously of not being able to play it and being stuck on the 6th gen of consoles. Using the classic and childish argument of it doesn’t have any of the features of San Andreas had. My first HD Liberty city experience was in 2012 when my dad brought me a used ps3, and I trade my copy of RD1 for EFLC. I finished the ballad of gay tony and was pleased with the return to “fun” in the series. Then GTA V was released, and I never touch it again. Now, as a college sophomore and 20 years old. I decided to give GTA IV a fair shake. I have now realized how wrong I was about GTA IV. I already knew that the story was grade A ( my problem was with the gameplay) but getting to play the story and game instead of watching someone else playing. Niko is the most developed character of the series by a long shot. Niko is a damaged soul just trying to find happiness and the “American dream,” but he never gets away from his past. And continue to haunt him. There is no happy ending here in Niko’s story. Rockstar tried to prove they could make a movie like and a deep story and succeed with flying color. There is a lot more to do then I remember last time playing or watching. I like the most wanted list that you can do on the police computer and hitman missions, car list, jobs you can do on email. The atmosphere is impressive. It captures the late 2000s and the global recession so well. It like going into a time machine and seeing how Grimm the time period was. These are the type of things a dumb kid just wanted to kill virtual hookers couldn’t appreciate until now. GTA IV might be the most misunderstood game of the series. I truly apologize for not seeing what made GTA IV so great until now but better late than never.
