Booke
For those who don't know playback fm was a east coast rap station from GTA San Andreas hosted by chuck d and the classics was another old school east coast rap station in GTA iv hosted by dj premier. Which station do y'all prefer out of the two. Me personally I choose playback because they had public enemy, rakim, slick Rick, big daddy Kane and biz markie and chuck d was pretty cool as a radio station host. J LaFleur
Playback but it made no sense in San Andreas and no one living in '92 west coast would listen to east coast rap tbh. My biggest problem with SA was that it literally had an east coast rap station when they didn't even add a Mexican radio station. There was going to be a Hispanic radio station in GTA SA but it was changed to either KJAH or SFUR. f*ck, imagine playing La Sonora Dinamita or Selena while driving through East LS. On the actual topic, The Classics should've had more hip hop from 1993-1996. This was THE golden age of East Coast hip hop. Group Home - Supa Star was the song on the station that best reflected that era. yungstirjoey666

You wouldn't really see the majority of rap songs from that era in a modern classic rap station (which I expect would play more stuff from about 1993-2003). kobeni
The Classics because it feels a little more underground and authentic to the east coast setting. Playback plays mostly pre-Wu Tang party east coast rap which is fun and fitting for San Andreas but you don't really get that dirty New York feel from it. billiejoearmstrong8
I prefer The Classics' era of music but unfortunately it doesn't have that great a selection of songs/artists. Where was Wu Tang Clan?! Playback has a better selection of songs from its era. Really didn't make sense for SA to have an east coast rap station but I still think it's the better of the two. The Classics could've been amazing but it's one of the weaker stations in IV - mediocre song selection and it doesn't even have good/memorable talk between the songs. Apparently, the internal PEDS.ide file has a "Spanish" radio station, even though there's no Spanish language radio. Reggae and House are omitted.
