Sire Thomas
Hi! Just got my version of Vice after preordering it. I noticed that while playing that the CD keeps spinning, but when playing movies it stops. I done a full install so all audio files are on my machine and I even turned the volume down to zero. however the CD keeps spinning while I play. is the CD used for anything else than music and validation-checking at startup? I don't like the CD to spin when I play, I can play quite a while and I'm afraid that a long contiunous usage will cause it to overheat or something. (and the noise is quite annoying too....) any suggestions?
RaveX
CdCracks work good for that But they're considered warez, so...
JoeyLeone25
RaveX I'd edit your post if I was you as a mod might see it talking about Warez & I shouldn't worry unless after a minimal ammount of time it starts to overheat &then I'd restart your comp Anomalous Material.com <--> AMF Multiplayer Topic Join Quidco and get Cashback for buying things online! Sire Thomas
how do I know if it's overheated?
RaveX
Why should i edit it? i'm just saying a cdcrack fixes the reading of cd's. I'm not giving links to them CdCracks fixes more stuff, like Carmageddon2 not running in XP, a cdcrack made it run in XP.. But like i said, they're usually considered warez. So thats why i'm not linking to them and such
Zemir
I don't count Cd cracks as warez... I CD crack every game I have just so I don't have to search for cds when I play.

ironrooster
got to megagames.com than go to pc game fixes find vice city and they will have about 7 or 8 different cd cracks before installing them scan for viruses and make sure that you have bought the game and are only useing the cd crack so you dont have to have the inconvience of a spinning cd
Sire Thomas
but why does it keep spinning? all there is one the CD is audio as far as I can see. So I do not get why the CD is spinning when all audio is copied to game folder...
Zemir
I wondered this for a long time, then I got the crack. I'm sure they will address this issue in a patch once they see how many people are cracking it to solve the problem...
Bandit77
Yup...I'm in the same boat as you guys. I had to use a CD crack just to keep from wearing out my CD Drive. After playing for awhile my CD Drive would start to whine and the game disc would be hot...so I said enough of this! I have never used warez and never will play a pirated game, cuz it's just the same as stealing IMO. I don't mind the disc check at the start like GTA3, thats how it should be, but something had to give...so I resorted to the CD crack. Hopefully this will be fixed in the next patch. -Bandit77
