I've got nearly 48k/10k RP with Bon Voyage(survival-like), solo. 

 

Guess what, even x3, it still sucks with randoms. When they die you get less rp money...

All Hands solo Savage is pretty decent though. 38k or smth, not trying to speed it.

Reading through the OP, a few things spring to mind:

 

I don't enjoy Deadline very much and won't bother logging on just to play it. Also, giving a rebate to noobs who don't already own the Shotaro but go out and buy it this week is yet more evidence that this game is not designed for long-term players. Superb: I paid zillions for this bike as a loyal customer a few years ago, so where's MY/OUR rebate? It better be forthcoming!

 

I am a big fan of the Extraction adversary mode that we had over the last two weeks, and Entourage is even better, so THIS should be 3X this week and should be the jump-in game from the loading splash screen instead of OK-ish-I-suppose Deadline. Play Wreckfest instead: you won't be disappointed.

But it's not just me, buddy, it's everyone who bought a Shotaro in the past! Maybe it's just the poor wording chosen by Rockstar or some clever marketing gimmick (mostly likely) to get people to fork out 2.225 million on a new Shotaro instead of reducing the price by 750 thousand to 1.475 million. Go figure.

 

Oh, I get it... this way people who buy the Shotaro this week will be obliged to log on next week (or whenever it is) to get their rebate. Smart marketing!

Yeah, it's to get people to log on this week AND next week, which they wouldn't necessarily do if the Shotaro was 750 thousand cheaper than normal.

 

The thing is, GTA online is a slowly dying beast in 2021 with trailing numbers before updates and enhancements are released, but with T2 shareholders still expecting good Q2 returns. It's dull financial stuff.

I think its just a small piece of the weeks update though, it isnt really enough to stress about.

 

I do think air sales should be triple sales though to even begin to be worth considering. Love deadline so keen to see what the new maps are like.

Nobody plays any of these Modes because they don’t pay enough and if you do play, you get nothing if you loose. idk what made things so different this time around.

Heck I would play deadline for free as it's a fun game. Not all video games are built around currency.

Exactly what I was thinking - it's worded in a way to suggest that previous owners of the vehicle will not be entitled to the rebate, or perhaps more correctly, a rebate will only be given if a Shotaro purchase is made this week, regardless of whether you owned one in the past. 

The wording, choice of phrases and dates have caused some confusion over the last few months in particular so it would be nice if things were a bit more "proper and professional", so-to-speak.

Exactly my point. In gta IV you had lobbies that would fill up with players because the modes were actually fun and there wasn’t such an emphasis on currency, but GTAO has taken that away and watered that experience down. If there’s an old adversary mode or whatever that you want to play, good luck filling up a lobby with randos unless it’s 2-3-4x pay. It’s not the same.

Hadn't played new or even old deadline except for one time to unlock trade price for shotaro some years ago, but saw couple of streams of people playing it, payout and rp are trash compared to 2x on vip last 2 weeks for example, for 20 minutes of play around 6k rp for the winner. I get if some people like playing this mode, but it will be dead like others after bonus event week ends.

I think this is the whole reason. I/E hasn't had a bonus for a very long time and it's usually a 50% bonus but this time it was double money and ran for 2 weeks instead of the usual week and on top of that VIP work which is a pretty rare double money event was double for the 2 weeks as well. They are also adding new races, AM mode maps and survivals just before a new DLC. I think all R* really cares about now is boosting their numbers and keeping people interested in the game unil E&E comes out.

That's not how the world works. The entire reason you paid so much was so you could be an early adoptor. You paid to have your Christmas present to open and play with on Christmas Day, rather than waiting for the sales. And as a long term player, what do you care about a lousy million? Until I sold one of these the other day I had 4 of the things.

 

You don't get a rebate for anything in life if you go in on day one, you just get to brag to your mates that you own it. And, unless you bought a shark card to buy it, I'm afraid you are only a customer in your eyes, not in Rockstar's.

 

Surely you can't begrudge some kid who has come to the game only recently a cheap motorcycle at this stage in the game's life? Man that is harsh.

 

It's just your lost rebate I'm afraid. I feel in no way whatsoever agrieved or ripped off by this. I don't see how it affects me or you at all to be honest, because if you aren't richer than God by now then you should be and you wasted your GTA life anyway.

Looks like the highlight to me of this week is going to be the triple reward on the yacht missions, very entertaining but I'm not much for repeating contact missions because I get bored, guess I'll dust off my hangar too. I'm going to miss last week's rewards, making over 15 million in one week has been wonderful.

Contact missions must be done alone unless you need at least one other person to start them. Playing with randoms is a pain in the ass.

It's the way you word yourself in a vaguely unfriendly, semi-berating and mildly patronizing manner, I think, as though it's my fault for the way Rockstar gives us the impression that they care, but only really care about statistical and marketable numbers.

 

You know better than that, to try and pin someone down as a noob hater, as ungenerous or generally unknowledgeable about the game. Why bother?

 

Personally, I need more convincing than 3D Tron wars to make me log on this week, and knowing that there will be no rebate makes me less motivated than usual, perhaps out of principal.

Are the Yacht missions bugged for anyone else? I get an extra Supervolito spawning on top of the standard one every mission, enemies not showing up on the minimap, and the big bad bossman blowing himself up in the final mission before I even lay eyes on him. It wasn't like that last time these missions were doubled/tripled.

The missions were bugged exactly like that for me the last time they had the extra bonus running. Well... the extra helicopter for me would spawn in the hot tub behind the helipad, but that's probably a yacht-choice-thing.

I am ALMOST tempted to actually boot GTA Online just to see this bug myself but I am going to resist, I got too much to do over in Genshin Impact anyway as Summer Holiday outfits more satisfying than GTA Online event week...
