Americana
I think we can leave Miami to Rockstar, honestly. I hope Ubisoft uses some more interesting locations, such as Washington D.C., in Watch Dogs.
Jezus Holy Christ
I wouldn't mind Miami but we won't get another GTA for at least a decade after this, so I'd prefer having one set somewhere I like. Badman_
The city might have a direct relation with the story. I don't think a narrative with a dark/serious tone would fit Vice City, but maybe it could work with London or San Fierro.

First frame from the GTA VIce trailer: Not necessarily, GTA SA and V were set in the same city, yet SA didn't feel like "Why did I move here" as its theme on Los Santos was focused around the ghetto. Same with IV and its two episodes, the main game gave us the Inmigrant view of Liberty City, TLAD its gang-war view, and TBoGT showed us the rich life on it. 60017 Silver Fox
The only reason I would object to having Vice City as the next city would be because I would like to see another city be introduced like either a reimagined San Fierro, London (though would much prefer a different city/cities like Liverpool or/and Manchester) or somewhere completely different. I loved Vice City so if that was announced as the setting for VI, I'd be a very happy lad. Either way, i'll be happy as long as its not another New York City. TKDSnovelist
As some have mentioned already, after Los Santos i want something dark again. Liberty City, Carcer City or something completely new. Maybe San Fierro would be OK too, but damn... i don't really want Vice City. Middle Class Roadman
itsallup
I dont know what bad there is about my florida. I am a proud floridian, and those who say everything about florida is because they dont live here and own a boat. Way too much to do on the water. Scarface the world is yours shows us a little about the islands, imagine boating down to Rio, Cuba, Mexico? it has been a long time coming. That's the thing, boating sucks in every video game that has boats. Whether the approach is more arcade or more simulated, doing anything boat or even just water related is always a huge bore. I don't know what they could possibly do to make water activities even bearable in a game. Imagine boating those straight(duh) long distances between islands, just holding down the throttle button, gazing the empty blue ocean while listening the nauseating sound of the engine when it bounces over the repeating and never ending flow of waves... Of course boats are part of the GTA world, but I dread the idea of giving them more presence in the general gameplay and it is one of the reasons why I'm so skeptical about the VC setting, as "water and boats" sound kinda inseparable part of the VC lifestyle. I'm not particularly against boats but my word boats in GTA V were simply awful - even the jet-ski's were terrible. They were just an absolute chore to use because of the water physics and constant bouncing off the waves. If they are gonna set the game in VC thats one area that certainly needs improving. I can't imagine that would translate well to actual gameplay, especially in a Rockstar game. Unfortunately, I don't think ocean combat will be anything more than maneuvering a boat through wide open nothingness while shooting at constantly spawning waves of enemies in other boats. Or weaving through rivers on a jet ski while shooting at constantly spawning waves of enemies in other jet skis. Both can make for a fun mission or two but I don't see much longevity/replay-ability in that. MrBreak16 and Collibosher

Mister Pink
I had lots of reasons. One of them being that I wanted a brand new city. Vice City, Los Santos, San Fierro and Las Venturas were all new cities when I first played them. That's half of the fun. There was nothing to compare them to. It was a brand new experience. Also, I thought it was predictable to do Vice. I would prefer a surprise, get a new city, one that wasn't covered by any game closely linked to a GTA style city. Baltimore, or Boston or both. Another was going from a sunny climate to a sunny climate in succession wasn't as fun for me. I would prefer to alternate between a grey, overcast east-coast city to a sunny one; like the transition from GTA III to Vice City. I loved the contrast and change of scenery from grey skies and buildings to blue skies and purple neon. For me, it's about variety, change and experiencing something new. I didn't know anything about Miami before playing Vice. I loved the discovery of a new place. I didn't know anything of Bolivia before I played Ghost Recon: Wildlands. And it's not that I'm looking for an education or that the game will accurately teach me things, but it's just new. Other reason was I've experienced Miami/Vice in; Godfather II, Vice City, Vice City Stories, Driv3r, The Crew etc. It's not like it hasn't been done before. But, I've kind of changed my mind. I'm happy to see what it's like. Should be interesting. RUBBΣR░J♢HNNY (スオッ)
Gdog
vice city was my least favourite game from the III, VC, SA trilogy. not saying it was bad but i just didn't feel it. it was too far in the past for me. i know SA is set in the 90's but it could've easily been a modern day title if you didn't look too deep whereas VC was just in your face 80's so it wasn't really something i could relate to. if you're older than me then maybe. also the map felt waaay smaller compared to III + SA. so i guess it just left a bad taste for me. i'm sure if VI is indeed set in Vice City it'll be much better. I know R* will make a kick ass map to play in but the thing that matters most to me is that it's set in the present/future or last ~5 years and not set in the 80's again.
