Duggan Shipments Question

I am wondering exactly how many targets I need to destroy to remove the helmets only from the guards in the Casino Heist. I would assume you don't have to destroy all 10 units to remove the helmets?

 

Reason being is I would actually prefer they have armor; I am going to try the Aggressive Elite Challenge and need 80 headshots. If they have armor there is less chance you accidentally kill them with a body shot.

 

If i know how many targets that only remove the helmets that would be awesome.

I think the helmets come off with just a few kills. You can do up to 9 without removing their armor though. We used the same strategy--did 8 or 9 kills to keep them armored but helmet less, and also used lighter automatics (not the combat MG) on the theory that it wouldn't knock them down as easily so we'd need headshots to get kills. Ended up working very well.

 

I also strongly recommend Taliana as the driver (better cars, better car locations), and paying for the decoy is probably worth it--makes evading the cops on the way to the buyer easier.

Nice answers. Did you do the short sale or long? I feel a bit off about doing short and I don't know how I will explain it to my team haha.

3 targets will get rid of helmets. Lester will pipe up about you seeing a reduction. They'll still be fully armed, tho, so be aware of that. Also, with only 3 targets down, the guards generally won't go down to a single headshot, so make sure you pour on the fire as if they had helmets.

 

I would also advise letting your team know why you set the heist up that way - I know when I join an Aggressive DCH and see no Duggan prep done I go looking for a Continue screen.

So sounds like best way to do it is to get 9/10 targets. That will make headshots one hit?

 

Ofc i would let them know abiut the 80 headshot goal just dunno if i would convince them that the shirt sale is worth it.

I'd say so. I've had 9/10 once before when one of the Duggan boats drove out beyond the Death Line and during the heist (S&S) we didn't have any issues with 1-shot headshot kills. But if you bring Combat MG's and excercise some fire discipline a single headshot will be fatal regardless.

 

Like I said, tho, word up your team otherwise they'll just hammer center mass. You have to hit every "preset" guard, too - if you have to rely solely on respawns you won't make the timer.

 

Oh, and you have to split up so that each of you is covering a respawn point. That's the staff lobby, the long hall upstairs and either side of the downstairs security room. Once you hit about 50-60, the upstairs guys can come down, then you do the vault but take only 150K and get out ASAP, and go low buyer.

 

Of course this is if you only care about getting the elite challange and not money. We tried a few times and it was the vault that ate up all our time; with the sole exception of Gruppe 6 Big Con, the trade off is pretty much a full take or the elite challenge, but not both. Well, S&S can be done, but absolutely everything has to go perfectly, right down to choice of getaway vehicle & vehicle spawn points (unless RNGesus smiles upon you and gives you a fast 4-door in the road, like a Buffalo or an Oracle).

We did the long. The general opinion of our group was that it wouldn't feel like an achievement if we chose a closer buyer.

 

Actually we ended up doing it twice back to back--two of us had been setting it up regularly so we could get repeated bites at the apple, and the day we beat it, we had a second one ready, went again, and beat it again. I think it's definitely the hardest elite of the three approaches. Getting that many headshots requires some diligence, yet the time is against you in a way that makes it very hard to just stand around farming the headshots you need. Both times we were barely over on those and barely under on time, and we even got lucky with the car spawn location and buyer (IMO the lumberyard is by far the best of the high buyers for multiple reasons, and we got that one on both runs).

 

If you know how to get the helicopter for the escape, the buyer location probably doesn't matter much, but the car location still does.

 

As far as the other discussion goes, I definitely recommend 9/10 on the shipments. Weaken them as much as possible without removing their armor, and get rid of their good weapons so you can just run out in the open, getting headshots at your leisure with little risk of dying.

I guess you could also go 10/10 on Duggans but use the Assault SMG. It's a very accurate weapon but not strong enough to kill with one hit to the torso.

 

I've used the Assault SMG on all my aggressive elite attempts. When I helped others and they got a different main weapon, I just use the sidearm SMG, which is basically the same as the Assault SMG but with slightly more spread and slightly slower rate of fire. (One advantage of the Assault SMG is it has has no damage dropoff with range but that's irrelevant when getting headshots.)

Just throwing in a quick approval on @SummerFreeze's advice regarding the Assault SMG's - a surprisingly effective weapon. Accurate, good damage, great range. It's definitely an A-list choice for DCH
