I just started playing GTA online and asked how to earn money, a guy said he’d give me some and gave me 20k. How do I know if this is a scam or not

If it just got transfered to your account, he probably shared this cash via interaction menu from his done job. (Legal)

 

If he dropped bags with cash to the ground, and you picked them up, those are modded money. (illegal)

 

However you dont have to worry either way.

If you didnt use mod on your own you are safe.
