Striker 08 Posted May 19, 2003 Share Posted May 19, 2003 I neeeeeed a bit of help here. I am playing Vice on a laptop. As I'm sure you know a laptop does not have a full number pad on the keyboard. The way mine works (not sure if its the same for others) is that there is a special key [Fn] which you hold to make some of the normal keys act as if they were the number pad. This presents a big problem when flying. Because of the situation I can never accelerate (plane) or go up (chopper) while also making the plane go up/the chopper go forewards. As a result, flying is very inefficient. I can't pass the Demolition man mission with the toy chopper and I can't even get the seaplane off the ground in Dildo Dodo. Dont really wana buy a ps2 adapter (money is tight). Does anyone know a solution to this such as how I might be able to remap those keys that are on the num pad to keys which are on the normal portion of the keyboard. I looked at the in game controls configurator but I only see options to change the controls of on foot and in vehicle. Thx...Pleeeeze help! Opius Posted May 19, 2003 Share Posted May 19, 2003 No, I think thats the problem. I haven't played it, but it sounds like you can't remap flight controls. You could fart around with keyboard defininitions and stuff in Windows, but I would report it to Rockstar, and see if they release a patch. And that must be a very nice laptop you've got. Alucasan Posted May 19, 2003 Share Posted May 19, 2003 the heli and plane controls are the turrets buttons i think it's 8- up 4- left 6- right 2- down i have remapped this to arrow up - up arrow down - down arrow left - left arrow right - right now it's even flyable . I haven't played it, but it sounds like you can't remap flight controls. in the remap keys part, the default for tilt up/down are num9/num6, and the rotate left/right are num4/num5, so just change those, there aren't any specific areas for the heli/plane, the controls are just under the in-car/vehicle section. hope this helped.
