Who uses a second character?

I have started to consider this, I have a few reasons why a second character is good from a business perspective. If anyone wants to add to the list that would be cool.

- You fill up your crate warehouses but it isnt double. You can hold them on your second character then move to your first until its double. They will never be raided while on your main character. Likewise for bunker and MC.

- You have a full business ready to sell but no friends online to help. So might as well start filling it up on a second character while you wait for them.

- More garage spaces and different property. You get to have Maze Bank and Arcadius, two bunker locations, two Hanger locations (so more space for planes.)

- Cayo Heist: You could have a great Cayo Heist that is good with 4 players but cant find time to get everyone together. You can keep doing normal cayos on the other account.

- Awards Reset: For instance casino missions become double, you can do all those story missions again and get $500,000 award. Maybe same for Flight School.

That is basically it, the idea is you can hold a business full of goods until it is double (vehicles, special cargo, whatever) and little chance of being raided.

I had two characters on the 360 mainly because there were a lot of modders that were constantly deranking players. If one of mine were deranked I could easily switch to the other until I found someone to fix the derank.

I would like for R* to enable the ability to have both characters active in the same session. One is being actively controlled while the other acts as a npc that's assisting the first character. You can create a relationship between then as either business partners, roomates (sharing the main residence). Or as a couple. Or no relationship at all like currently.

I agree with the above post. I would add though, that I think there should be at least five secondary characters that the player can make, and the following ought to be possible as choices;

1. The secondary character(s) can be played on their own account as they are now

2. The secondary character(s) can be played on the player's primary account

3. The secondary character(s) can be used as a "follower" with simple commands that the player can give them. (Kind of like how it works in The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim)

I have a second character to play differently to my first, basically. Not used very much (lvls 1348 vs 135) but different arcade, only free/won cars, fewer peg vehicles etc etc. Also for saving stuff like Diamonds in DCH or currently the panther in CPH for much, much later.

Also she does have an office garage full of Blista Compacts for some reason.

I have a second character to test glitches. 🤫

For example, I lost access to my Wastelander on that one but it doesn't matter because it's only my second char. Meanwhile my main char has a fully customized Wastelander. 😎

I have a second character but mostly to see how the system worked, how versatile the character creator was and for an 'extra' in Director mode. Didn't expect them to share a bank account.

I've often thought if I started over I'd keep my primary character simple, to lessen the daily costs and have character two become the grinder paying into the joint account, like some kind of distant sugar daddy/mommy that funds my main character's needs. Problem with that is there would be no reason to play as the primary, and Sugar Mommy would end up being my main.

My barely played second character owns an unarmored Kuruma. Very fitting, I feel - a nearly useless car for a nearly useless character 😄

I created a second character solely to fix the white board glitch when I was still hosting the original heists. Back then I had no use for another character but after a while I decided to buy her more and more stuff. Now she owns some of the vehicles that my primary character owns but in different colors, or businesses in different locations. It switches things up a little to play one or the other sometimes.

That's odd, my full bank balance is available to both my characters, or is that just an Xbox thing?

If you keep it as cash on your secondary it won't show in your SC stats.

This topic cannot be complete without a mention of that time switching character gave you like 200k? each time. Never wiped either as I understand these things.

* it was the difference in cost between your two character's offices

Seeing as how my main character is level 1088, I will sometimes hop over to my 2nd character (level 160 or something) just to take a break from people accusing me of cheating, kicking me from jobs, and asking me for money.

I used my 2ndary for vehicle bonds, just in case if I ever fall into a sinkhole that succs me dry of my monies. Stashed away $450,000,000 in Deluxoes, Bombushkies and MK II's.

Yes, it's all glitched. I haven't actually dipped into it ever since Cayo Perico showed up on the map, simply due to the sheer amount of cheddar you can make with it.

Other than that, I use it for testings and other minor stuff that I wouldn't do on my primary character :)

I have one.

Started it back in the day to have more garagespace and because I wanted to try out a female character.

But since I got more space on my main I decided to "rebrand" her. Completly changed her looks, sold of most of her cars (since I now had them on my main), changed all the big storage garages I used for my collection to smaller ones.

She became my chill out character when i wanted to get away from my main who had everything. She owns some usefull stuff, some fun stuff but quite a lot less than my main.

She is pretty much the character I play on most now since my main over Level 800 Character gets instantly kicked from most jobs.

If I could I would even start a third one.

bank is shared between characters but cash is not.

if you want your characters to have their own money you just have to keep it cash.

in my case the shared bank has around 7 million, my main guy has 3 million in cash, my female character has 200million in cash.

whenever i get to 20 million with my main guy i deposit the money, go to my 2nd character and withdraw the money.

its something i started to do back in 2014 to keep me from going broke but eventho i have millions available i still do it 🤷🏼‍♂️🤣

It was a refund for office upgrades. One character needed a fully upgraded office and the other an office with no upgrades or even no office at all. Everytime you switched to the character without the office upgrades they got 50% of the cost the upgrades cost and for a fully upgraded office it was 825k everytime you swapped to the character with no upgrades. I ended up getting close to 90 million from that glitch and bought a yacht.

I use a second character to enjoy the game like a broken ass, no grind, no 50 weapons in the wheel, I just go around with my AP Pistol and that shotgun(gifted when acquired a MC clubhouse I think), I play Biker contracts in the old way, or old contact missions alone, like Los Santos Connection or else like survivals.

Its funny to play with nothing, makes you more creative.

had two pretty much from the start..,

one M(ale) and one F(emale)..,

(wonder if T will show up in Next/E&E, jk)

had two back in ogen, nearing 400 lvl

and one at 400, and the other nearing eventually as well on pc..,(lvls are so pointless, would rather r* sum up the exp of all characters, and an option of milling/ng+ the old ones for cash, and new start from 0, with a bonus, either way..,)

hope the next GTA has two/more instead of RDR2O's 1 character..,

but i have two, cause its fun with more.., and i can design the character more that ways..,

I have 2 accounts - initially I made the second account with the intent of being able to game in peace without getting constant party invites - but I do plan on creating a second character on my second account (after I've built up a large stockpile of banked cash - which I'm in no hurry to do) and using that to bait griefers and try-hards.  After all, they'll never expect a level 1 character to own all the businesses & the better weaponised vehicles.

I use a second character for getting a lot less unwanted attention (main is rank 1000+ so in freemode its back to back beggar kids and edgelord russian cheater kids)

But in like 6-8 months, i've somehow reached 200+ on my second character with just casual play, i sorta need to make a new one again lol, but by now i've also spent at the least like 50mil on this new character, so hmmm, not sure if i just wanna toss that out. I need the ability to make more characters lol.

This does sound like a good idea. Something I've been meaning to get to for quite some time. The shared bank is what interests me the most. Double of everything and keeping every business stockpiled on my second one does sound like a wonderful idea while waiting for said businesses to go into double money.

Other than the businesses though, I plan on keeping my character very normal. Buying the very basic properties and vehicles, possibly emulate a real life scenario. No flying broomsticks that shoots missiles, no weaponised stuff. Just a pistol and myself.

Don't see the point TBH, the only time you need actual cash from your character is using stuff like a taxi & even then it's only a teeny amount. I deposit into the bank regularly, if nothing else to prevent a mugger getting the full $10k from me and the ultra rare instance where you're unable to get it back.

I started playing with 2nd character when I felt like I'd achieved everything important with the 1st. This was before all the businesses and wacky toys started coming out. Later I switched between characters when I wanted to get some air from the grinding and other business related headaches. Now I just do it for the fun of it. Sometimes I want to play with male, sometimes with female character and they have different vehicle collections among other things that offer slight variety.

i dont do it because of the muggers(i retired from public sessions years ago) i started doing it as a savings method and it stuck with me.

im less likely to go on a spending spree when i have to switch characters to get the money 😂
