bmw740i
I have read that with the new gameconfig for 1.0.2245 version of the game the removal of packfilelimitadjuster is possible. But when I do that the game will load endlessly. Someone said that the ArchiveCount value in gameconfig should be written in heapadjuster. That makes no difference game loads forever and crashes. But when I restore packfilelimitadjuster game loads fine? Help...
DuncanMac
This particular mod, the one I'm currently using, claims the packfilelimitadj isn't necessary. I've never used a packfile mod myself. https://www.gta5-mods.com/misc/gta-5-gameconfig-300-cars I have no idea why your game would load endlessly unless you've got a seriously huge addon or more likely a corrupt one. An easy way to test for this is to just rename some of your mods (with windows explorer) and see if you can fine the culprit. I'm running the mod above and a heap mod with about 110 car addons and a few huge map addons - runs very well and loads decently. If i spawn 30 addons by a c# script and tons of addon peds, it will eventually crash however. Edited June 10, 2021 by DuncanMac
bmw740i
In the gameconfig the archivecount value is 13664 do I write that value in the heapadjuster.ini file?
bmw740i
Not working. it says err_fil_pack_1. I dont have any scripts. Just car addon mods. About 25 in all. Still not working. Help..
DuncanMac
9 hours ago, bmw740i said: In the gameconfig the archivecount value is 13664 do I write that value in the heapadjuster.ini file? You should not have to adjust the heap file at all, especially with only 25. For the gameconfig, don't change the settings either. Start with the Base one - i.e. normal traffic and see if it works before increasing the traffic. Also, as I suggested before, disable all your addons except one (just move them to another folder, you don't need to touch dlclist.xml after the move). If it runs with 1 addon, slowly add others back. If not, you have another issue. One last thing. Are you using a Mods folder? You must, and make sure you are making changes in the Mods folder in OpenIV, not in the original game folder. bmw740i
I found out the problem it was a typo in an addon. But another one occurred. I had a lot of addons I tried to put them all back around 115. Game crash. I checked the mods folder dlcpacks the number of dlc is 103 game runs perfectly at last. But 104 total dlc in dlcpacks folder game crash no matter what? Any advice
DuncanMac
Check the syntax in dlclist.xml to make sure all tags are correct. There is no upper limit, one guy had over 400 addons installed. However memory will become an issue. I can tell you from my own experience that many modders put out garbage mods, too many polygons, missing files, screwed up tags etc. I know bike mods in particular can easily crash games if poorly converted and or packaged. So again, eliminate the last x mods you installed and reinstall one by one. In your case it seems the last one is at fault. P.s. im assuming car mods. Maps and missions are notorious for causing issues, particularly when outdated Edited June 12, 2021 by DuncanMac

DuncanMac
Can you post your dlclist.xml here. I have a feeling you have a syntax error, make sure your tags are all proper.

DuncanMac
I don't see any errors, I copied it into OpenIV and did a syntax check as well, all seems good with dlclist.xml. I'm guessing you have a bad mod somewhere which is not allowing you to add any other new ones. Again, motorcycles are the biggest culprits from my own experience. I downloaded a KTM dirt bike which crashed my game consistently after about 15 minutes. Here's what I'll suggest. Sort your mods by date modified in Windows Explorer to identify the last ones you added (or do it from memory or from your dlclist.xml if you added new mods at the bottom). Then rename say 10 of the last mods so you don't have to uninstall them or edit dlclist.xml (it will just ignore missing/renamed mods). Now download say 3 or 4 new mods and install them. Check the comment sections - it will give you a good idea if other users are having problems with a specific mod. Finally go back and rename some of your existing mods, maybe 2 at a time, and launch/test your game. Keeping doing this until you encounter a problem or when you hit that 103 mark. The idea of adding the new mods is too get you close to 103 and then increment mod by mod (or 2 by 2) and see if you can find a culprit. One last thing, it could also be an interaction between 2 mods - this is unlikely, more likely with scripts.
bmw740i
I removed all rockstars dlc from Mod folder dlcpacks so only 48 dlc in the folder now - still crash when I add another addon. Tried 20 different addons - crash. But when I only have those 48 DLCs perfect loading and gaming. The limit of 103 was with rockstars DLC incl. Thanx for all your help and time but no solution on this one. Edited June 14, 2021 by bmw740i
DuncanMac
That's frustrating as hell. Do you have the latest copy of update.rpf copied from the game folder to your mods folder? Also, you should keep at least the last patch from Rockstar in your dlcpacks folder. Edited June 14, 2021 by DuncanMac

DuncanMac
Obviously something is corrupt. This is what I would try. 1. Extract dlclist.xml from your existing mods folder and leave it on your desktop for now. 1. Rename your existing mods folder to any name. 2. Create a new mods folder 3. Install one of the 20 new addons that caused a crash 4. Load game. If game loads properly, rinse and repeat. 5. Continue until you have all 20 new addons installed and running. 6. Now go back to the dlclist.xml file from your desktop, open it in notepad or any text editor, and copy all the dlclists into your current dlclist (the one with 20 addons). 7. Don't copy your old mods back yet, but load game and see if it runs with your 20 addons and dlclist with 100+ lines but without the mods. 8. If that fails, you know something is wrong with the old dlclist.xml file. 9. If it works, go to your backedup mods folder and select say 30 mods from the dlcpacks folder and copy them to your current dlcpacks folder. 10. Run the game and see if they all load, if they do continue with another 30 or so.
bmw740i
I made a new mod folder And I added 47 addon mods-Game loaded perfectly without packfilelimitadjuster. Still with the old dlclist. I then added 1 more addon-Game loaded perfectly. But I then added 1 more addon-game crash. More than 48-game crash. I checked I have around 56 mods in dlclist, even though I switch mods with the ones that didnt work before if I am within 48 addon only-Game loaded perfectly. But 49 game crash. I have decided to restore packfilelimitadjuster again to make this work. I even had a friend of mine do the same on his pc-Same problem-Game crash with 49 addons? Its not the dlclist, its something in the files, I will check again, but for now no solution at all.

bmw740i
I checked trainerV.ini and mpmap was set to enable. I cannot remember why I set that to enable. What does that do, any ideas. Game works when mpmap is set to OFF? Finally its working. Thanks for not giving up on me so that I in the end found what was wrong.
DuncanMac
Im glad you figured it out. I was only thinking addons and dlclist.xml, didn't think a trainer could be the problem. Ive never used TrainerV so im not familiar with mpmap. Sounds like multiplayer, to play mp maps in sp..
