POLICE

Create a mission in which the playable character or characters are part of the police force, SWAT or any other traditional law enforcement body.

NOTE: Depictions of agencies (FBI, CIA) or the military are not suitable for this theme. They can be included in the mission, but must not be centered around them and the player must not play as them.

Welcome back to designing, Martin.

 

It would be wonderful if more people took the opportunity to participate in what I'd consider a rather loose theme, making this a more fun contest. Looking forward to other entries!

My Review for MOTW #188

I played 2 of these missions and I expected something better and more fun to compete in to. I get that your missions were made for fun and you're the newcomers, but this is not the best place to show your trolling, unfunny jokes.

Judging by the name of the mission. I thought there would be some good action with a promising variety, but all we got is

two cops talking sh*t to each other and going racing with impounded cars while the other officer inside the police department went completely mad.

I have no pros to talk about it, since it's made for the lolz and the author said that the mission was rushed.

It felt like it was made during V5, V6 times, because the checkpoints were too tiny and these checkpoints were the worst for a racing mission.

It felt a bit boring, because there was nothing happening around the racing. Since only 2 racers in GTA SA feels empty.

Writing is also a joke. Not because it's made for fun, but it had some cringy moments in the mission.

 

PROS:

---??

 

CONS:

-Lack of events

-Cringeworthy writing that supposed to be made for fun.

-Checkpoints were badly made and it was too lazy.

-Felt like it was made during V5, V6 times, because how it looked basic.

-Felt a bit boring.

 

Overall, I didn't like any second of this mission since like I said for hundred times: It's made for fun. It felt like a troll mission and it felt very weird to see this kind of a mission competing in MOTW. Sorry, hope you'll not take this offensive and I hope you'll participate with strongly made missions.

 

VERDICT: 1/10

The mission itself had some promises with a plot and the gameplay itself, but when I decided to give it a try. It was bland and boring and I couldn't understand what was going on.

 

Okay, so some couple of officers had to investigate a mansion in Vinewood. They say that someone got captured by Unknown. Sounds understandable, but whenever you go inside. This is where it gets a mess.

When the officers went inside, there were an invisible guy shooting around the mansion. That's the whole point of a mission, because the mission name was called: Shadow Hunter.

The mission was also boring and had no variety whatsoever, just an invisible guy and cops running around. Everything went so fast when we had to kill some guy who caused all of this. After that, my main protagonist decided to talk himself about this situation and it didn't make any sense, because...

The grammar of the mission wasn't that good at all. Since the English is not his native language, but we still gotta understand what's going on within a story.

The writing was also a big problem of the mission.

Also dunno if this a bug or something, but when I reached a drinking room. Cops decided to shoot me like they were brainwashed from someone or something. That was very confusing and bland.

 

PROS:

-The mission had this unique glitch, when it supposed to be added into a mission. An invisible actor glitch which it happens, whenever you place an actor inside the interior, and you go inside the interior, or when you leave the interior through the marker.

-The start of the mission had an ok start.

 

CONS:

-Lack of events

-I was confused at some parts when I reached a drinking room. 

-Not so good writing, mistakes, etc.

-Felt a bit boring. (little variety, no objects inside the place to look the whole atmosphere of a mission to be intriguing.)

-Felt like it was also made during V5, V6 times, because how it looked basic (except for that gate opening.)

 

In conclusion, Bob's mission also needs some work, not because how boring it was, but how he executed the idea poorly and how everything went so confusing and fast at the same time. If you want to participate for fun. You gotta put a care into gameplay mechanics too, because this... I don't want to say alot of good things about it 

 

VERDICT: 2/10

That's it. There were not alot of designers participating into this entry. I would have to say sorry first, because these were the most weakest MOTW entries I have ever seen. You gotta put some variety and a better presentation, if you want to participate for contests like MOTW.. I know that you're guys aren't that experienced, but whenever you design more and more, listen to the feedback, you will do a lot better than right now. Also thank you very much for your feedback and votes on my mission. The map design took about 3-5 hours to make it until I was writing some stuff took about 1.5 hours. Rough work for a DYOM mission, but still, I did it nonetheless...

Well, as I've said several times, my mission was actually made in a hurry, before the deadline got extended, so you were warned by me on how atrocious my piece of sh*t dyom0.dat file can be.

eh, I wasn't very offended on your verdict, and calling my mission a troll one is a bit of an understatement. It's a junk pile that should've belonged in the deep depths of the dumping grounds.

I appreciate your time playing my stupid, sh*tty entry and actually making a review for it.
