What would it take for old school Saints Row games to truly rival GTA for you?

Reimagined Steelport would be nice too, if doing it right.

The main problem with Steelport from SRTT - it's homogeneity. You can go from one side of city to another, and all what you see - it's just Ctrl+C-Ctrl+V buildings with same color scheme. Buildings like restaurants, fastfood cafes, hotels/motels, parking garages, etc is just doesn't exist in Steelport (unlike in Stilwater).

Imagine if reimagined Steelport would be more diverse?
You go to the one side of city, and you see the nice suburban area, with good infrastructure, colorful shops and cozy streets. Just like Shadyside - suburban area of real Pittsburgh, PA.

Then you go to another side of city, and you see abandoned buildings, piles of garbage blocking streets, graffiti on every wall, probably some dead mall on outskirts. Just like slums of Camden, NJ or Detroit, MI.

This would make Steelport more realistic and interesting to explore.
Oh, and also - screw all those neon lighting all over the city. Steelport - rust belt decaying city, not Miami or Las Vegas.

Modern pop station. Or probably some mixed, just like Non-Stop-Pop FM from GTA V. I know, players most likely wouldn't listen to this station, but for a sense of the integrity of the world - would be a nice addition.

Steve Jaros you can immediately tell that he's into cheesy CW dramas and their bad writing, bad acting, and beautiful people. He's a kid from the suburbs who sat at the nerd table in high school. He's not into the crime movies/shows like the Houser bros are and it reflects in the writing of Saints Row.

 

He wrote the first two parts too, and they came out good.

However, the idiotic fourth part was not done by him, but by the new screenwriter.
