j7n
I copied the game to another, faster computer, and experienced unacceptable sound quality. This computer is not used for sound editing and only has a motherboard Intel/Realtek output. I believed that the game is a simple software DirectSound program, and consumer drivers would be the best with it. On my other PC I have E-MU 0404, and it works. RIght at the menu the dings randomly bounce between the speakers, are delayed in time with a Haas effect. The stereo seems artificially widened. When driving a truck with a trailer, I hear phasing from 2 or more copies of wind noise playing simultaneously. Yet the game runs out of sound channels during a rain storm, and the engine sound cuts out jarringly. Can anything be easily tweaked? Installing a sound card is impractical.
