Potential GTA VI Info Revealed? And What This Means For The Next Game As Well As Rockstar’s Future

Before I start, this article and everything surrounding it has apparently been debunked by people on the internet (https://www.reddit.com/r/GTA6/comments/nofhtr/why_the_4chan_post_that_resurfaced_is_likely_fake/). Of course, even though it may probably be fake, we all should take this information with a grain of salt. A super tiny bit I mean, like really small. So, with that being said, let’s talk about the fact that apparently small bits of information has been leaked regarding Rockstar Games’ rumored new title at work, Grand Theft Auto VI in the past (2016) by a user on 4chan who leaked certain information about RDR2, and was correct on it.

So, as the article states, the OP on 4chan made claims about RDR2 and also leaked info about VI. This is what he had to say about the game:

Beware, the information you’re about to read, maybe be considered fake.

 

- GTA VI will be set in Vice City (again lol) and will not be set in the 1980s, and instead modern day (Woah, who would’ve thought. I know people like me who were in the mood for some 80s are disappointed should this leak be true, but I think we should a) wait it out, b) take this lightly as this could be fake, and c) have some goddamn faith in R*).

- The game was in pre-production in 2014, and asset creation started in May 2016 (the time this thread was actually happening. This seems probable, as the majority of Rockstar was working on RDR2 after V, and most likely had a small team working on putting together the skeletal structure of GTA 6, so when development for RDR2 finishes they can go full steam ahead with 6).

- Development process is a nightmare, there was a lot of frustration and disagreement over the direction of the game. (Enormous yikes, 1/2)

- Lots of People had to fight to make sure that Online isn’t the central focus of the game (Okay, this is what scares me theoretically if these claims are true. On one hand, it shows the effects of Online that were made on employees at T2 & Rockstar as they probably saw dollar signs in a buyer’s market when it came to Online. On the other hand, it also shows that there are people who still believe that the single-player focus isn’t dead and can be something just as good in terms of delivering a fantastic game experience, which is good, 2/2.)

- Two protagonists this time around (this shows reflection and feedback on Rockstar’s part from GTA V with Michael, Trevor, and Franklin).

- Game is set in Florida and Cuba (Now this is where things are obvious and also interesting. From all the leaks we’ve gotten, we know that there is going to be some kind of South American island, and according to OP we will be heading to Rockstar’s satirical take on Cuba which definitely intrigues me. However, the user only specifies “Florida” as the map, so this begs the question: will we be seeing an ENTIRE representation of the state of Florida? Or will we be seeing only a take  on South Florida instead?)

- Male character is a smuggler and is the comic relief (RiCaRdO?!?!?!)

- Female character is his contact in the States and is supposed to be the serious one (RoSe?!?!?!)

- But where does Kacey fit into all this though?

- Lot of debate about the tone, and according to the OP it’s going to be on par or even better then the tone with RDR2 ().

- Most serious game, way less satirical then most past GTA entries (This is what intrigues me the most, after the goofy tone with V it seems as though we might be coming back to a more grounded, dark story similarly to what GTA IV was, and if anything, we might be looking at the most serious story yet.)

 

So, what do you guys think? Should we believe what OP has to say? Or should we label this as another fake and move on?
