It’s weird man. Surely they are self aware enough to realise that it’s been a long ass time since an a proper dlc. July 2020. It’s like they skim read a list of all the requests people have for the game and seen the one person who requested horse races and went yep that’ll do. No one wants or asked for this.  If this is just a bit of filler to tide us over until the summer update then I can still think of about 1000 things they could have added which would have been more well received than this? Even just one new weapon would have been better lol. I’m assuming they added these cos they were quick and easy to make? 
 

I’m fully expecting Rockstar to now go on one of their traditional complete silences until a week before the dlc drops which could be anytime between now and September lbh.

 

Like you, I’m sorry to be on such a downer but Rockstar really don’t help with the enthusiasm. And in fully expect their focus to be on GTA E&E when they drops so God knows what will happen to this game then.

I mean the 3X RDO$/XP is cool and all but horse racing never seemed appealing to me even in OG RDR Multiplayer.

 

The limited time clothing choices seem okay but for me personally I will never buy a new hat. I think the “Stalker” hat fits my character perfectly considering I’m making my character’s appearance like Frank. I just wish the sideburns option was a little bit longer.

Hey, do not forget to look at our vague statement about this summer.  Please buy GTAO for the 4th time.  We promise it's worth it.  Here's a bunch of stuff no one asked for/wants...we have had it since 2018 but decided to drop it now to remind you, buy shark cards! We promise our flying bike game will be fun again.  Did we tell you? It's being released in November.  We have not posted any pics or videos or what enhanced means, but get hyped because it's coming in November or February 22...maybe summer of 22.  You all understand.

so i tried most of the races. like about 5 or 6 of them. and my opinion of them is not very good. i never really cared for the horse racing in this game. it was something i rarely did. in fact i pretty much forgot they were in the game. i played some last week to get the bonus money and xp. and it reminded me of why i never play them. but i still decided to try the new races just so i could do something new. of the races i played none of them were super great. i hate having to spam x all the time. and then have my stupid horse run into a tree or stop immediately when a pebble is in his way. and i also hate that there is still combat. i also hate how they did a cumberland falls open target race. when there is a race just like it down the road at calibans seat. so it is pointless to have one so close. and its also the one i hate the most. because it has way too many trees to hit and rocks that stops the horse. i also found a glitch on there that made my horse fall into the ground and go into blue hell or whatever that underground glitch is. its a bad race.

 

the only positives are the fact that some of them are in some unique areas that are rarely used. like annesburg and the flat iron lake islands. the island race is my favorite so far. and i guess the extra money is a nice reward. but we all know that it wont be there for long. and once the double rewards end. these races will be forgotten. i still will try to do all the races just so i can say i played all the new content. and i might play the races a few more times this week. but for the most part. its not that good. on a side note. i wish they would add wagon races or boat races. that could really make racing more interesting. i hope the real dlc comes soon. because these races can not hold us over until september.

it's clearly wishful thinking on my behalf you know....imagining a map extension (mexico), new roles (landlord etc), properties (with customizable interiors), really good, unique clothing (REAL trapper etc...) but at the end of the day this game is what arthur said....more ghosts than people. this game was abandoned by their makers 1.5 years ago or so, the only thing keeping it alive is a loyal fanbase that just doesn't want to give up on the game. there will be no more big dlc updates, nothing but dripfeed of content that wasn't requested, content that was simply developed and stored ahead of time, for future "updates"

 

if we was 1 year into the game I'd say HEY WE'LL SEE...but you know, WE SAW....and well, nothing much to see here. I somewhat accepted no mexico, no properties, no new roles and so on.

 

and all of that, the whole circumstances, the situation, JUST BECAUSE THE BENZ IS GONE....can you imagine?!

Yeah, I barely pop into GTAO anymore.

When I moved to Xbox One, I paid for it again but it was quite a big upgrade

jump and using the new cars and stuff. I don't think I will again, even if I ever

manage to see a series X existing in a store.

 

Everyone else just lets you play their game on the new console for free, even

with upgraded features (like "No Man's Sky.") Makes me wonder if

Rockstar will try to do something similar with RDR2/RDO (making you pay

for "enhanced".)

Absolutely count on it. 

 

I love the recycled "bonus" from last week too.  I had never done horse races, so did a few last week, and was very underwhelmed.  Not doing it again this week

Bruh... gta fans yearned for a ferrari based car that actually looked like one for circa 7 years... and that was a trivial request... so yeah, in their twisted mind they are still good, and you- i mean all of us- should sit tight... or even better...  get a damm good bed.

• Races without weapons
• wagon races
• Canoe races
• Posse relay races

But no they just added exactly what we have but in a different location. Where is the drive, passion and creativity gone?

Honestly though, I want to be able to ride that mule and get one of those little spotted donkeys like from the first game.

I just joined a target race and the other players are shooting players. I mean, some of them. Some of the people are just racing and some of them are just picking off racers (and each other) along a trail. I think it just says shoot the targets for description, but it's more like horseback kills challenge on a trail, just a little more confusing. Hmm well I'll try some other mode another time but that sure was more of a shootout than a target race

I suppose they'd shoot us at the photo competition too if they were allowed. Just like the saloon I would like guns to be allowed but it becomes a detractor when psychos are in your game.

 

More positively speaking, I like the ideas about other animal races, normal derbies or lap races, I like the idea of target races too but not the PK aspect. There could be races with drinks too. And how about show jumping and obstacles like drop fences on the banks. Make new races about racing that would be worthy.

 

And you cannot adopt them but you can ride donkeys from the farms! But no other livestock to my knowledge. Yeeeee haw. But I couldn't hop on a cow or steer or anything. That is another idea too, a bucking bronco competition! The Valentine Roundup 1907!

Or rodeos with absolutely no way any pvp can be involved. Just a good old competition between players. Why they insist on having a pvp element to everything rather than things players can do together and have good, clean fun.....

Lol, that's true. Although that little donkey does not like my character much, and the goat that the old woman owns is a devilish thing as well.

Probably has the same digestion issues that she seems to have every single time I go talk to her... ugh

These are great ideas, and would be a wonderful addition.

 

I sent in an example of a well loved race that certain Native tribes have held since they learned to ride. It's basically cross country, the terrain is either your enemy or your friend, and whether you make it to the finish line depends on how well you and your horse are bonded and work together.

And they give us a small race through tumbleweed that involves us shooting at one another to make it to the finish line... I want to be able to rely on my skill to maneuver my horse to win the match not on if I can grab a gun or not.

 

Also doing some barrel racing events, cutting, or even roping events might help players learn how to manage their horses better and would be so much fun to do. No PVP just fun competition.

Those are mules, but same thing applies in that it would be nice to be able to purchase and saddle both mules and donkeys.
