I was wondering why so many people were picking this car in races, and then I realised it was stupidly fast. Is this a mistake on Rockstar's part? Like, it's insanely fast.

yup, its only slight downfall is it has lots of understeer but when you can launch out of a corner at ridiculous speeds it doesnt really matter lol

I did a sprint with another player and the acceleration was so strong that it propelled me over the road, across the tracks and into the drink. I still won though.

Did some actual racing (non-contact because who the **** do public races in contact) with it earlier. It's annoying to drive, but it's something that I can adapt to, I suppose.

 

More annoyed by the fact that it isn't actually much good at rallying, and the god-awful blue-Castrol livery that they have the audacity to put behind a ridiculous rep level lock (that I don't want anyway).

My advice with racing it is just turn when you're not holding down the accelerator

May I ask which app you are using for the moving object blur effect?

I bought it for the Sega Rally memories, looks good and seems fast even without upgrades. But is it just me that thinks that it understeers pretty bad? I have not tried it off road yet but if it does not have reduced traction loss like others have mentioned then that is a disappointment to say the least.

Also a question about upgrading the thing, I purchased the new property expecting to tune it there but I can not find a way in with the car, do I have to do something to allow upgrades from there or am I mistaken and you just upgrade in the normal mod shops?

You have to do the initial set up mission for moody mouth and his skank. The dialogue between them is cringey, but after you complete that you'll gain access to the shop portion of the business and can customize your cars from there.

• Has four eyes
• Is definitely getting on a bit
• Name pronunciation seems to cause endless confusion

Does lowering this car(or any other car from the update for that matter) effect the steering?  Like using the option in the interaction menu? Idk if it's me, but this thing can not corner for f*ck all! Also wish there was more bumper options. It's just splitters and other lip bits.  Otherwise a neat Celica clone.

Well, no, I didn't know that, hence why I said I was disappointed. If I had seen the livery, I would've not said I was disappointed.

 

I must not have scrolled through all the liveries because I saw that they were locked.

Yeah, "stanced" vehicles seem to be able to reach higher top speeds and perhaps have better acceleration but at the expense of cornering. 
I found this car to be terrible in some races until I realised I had left it stanced, which seems to carry over the driving properties into races even if the car doesn't look stanced.

I love seeing your cars because you usually go for a stock look. Same as me.  Very appreciated.

It's not a rally car, visually it is but technically it's not.

Still waiting to unlock the trade price, but even just playing around with the stock one, it's quick.  Trade-off is that understeer, obviously, but even stock it's good enough to beat a couple of upgraded Dominator GTTs - I thought I'd have to buy something half-decent to have a chance of earning the free Remus, but the Calico delivers, even without upgrades!

I won alot with the stock calico , then i bought it so i could upgrade it. I think it rides better in races stock but im not really a racer so idk whats going on

I don't know, people have been expecting the Pariah to be nerfed for closer to 4 years now... 

 

Regardless I hope they don't nerf it because this car's like a damn little rocket. And I like it.

It's not coded to be a rally car, it doesn't have any handling flags that would allow it to perform better offroad and it has a standard offroad traction loss of 1 making it no better than a supercar. Also, it has bus like understeer and performs terrible offroad in general. I'm really disappointed that it's not a rally car, nothing says you can't pretend it's one, but it just won't perform like one.

No, I noticed that too. I don't know it's it's the set-up I'm using but my fully-upgraded Calico is almost undriveable becauss the understeer is seriously so bad, it has to be the worst understeer I've ever seen on a car, the turning radius is no better than a bus. Making turns means I have to come to an almost full stop, the only thing that keeps my somewhat on-pace with my competitors is the acceleration. 

 

The downforce on this car is something like 1.5, apparently according the broughy the suspension adds traction like a spoiler, and stancing the cars in the interaction menu carries through to races which also affects handling and performance so something is amiss and I'm not sure what... I noticed that stock Calico's have less understeer so something needs to be changed to make it perform better.
