TiTaN_KGB
Uhm, i dont know if you've tried this, but uninstall it, when it wants to do that, and then try to install again, without removing the cd or whatever.

TiTaN_KGB
ENTER THE MATRIX NOT SO GOOD. What is your OS?
Raptor-Man
Windows XP. The thing that's pissing me off is that non of the uninstalls be it add/remove programs or the unistall that appears when the disk is inserted seem to do anything but go through the process. So basically it keeps trying to uninstall something that isnt there but neither are detecting that it's not there. /me sighs
DigitalXTC
Well first off rockstar doesnt have time to test out every possible problem on every possible pc on the market. Obviously you havent removed all the registries or else how would it know that youve tried to installed it before? Maybe theres something wrong with your cd drive and thats why it wouldnt install properlly the first time or maybe you should reinstall windows. Im sure rockstar will have a fix for the problem eventually. did you even contact them first before you started crying in the forums? I think your best bet is to just do a fresh install of your os. some other alternatives you could try is finding a good registry cleaner. I suggest using regclean AATools Registry Cleaner (RegClean) Give that a whirl and if it doesnt work you could always resort to doing a format and then reinstall your os. The Quick and the Dead
You tried to install the music. Lots of people have that problem when they install. Rockstar = bitches = not give away wireframes for gta2 cars! A R G H!
BknAxl
Try this program, install it and goto the registry tool and look for rockstar. Maybe this will get rid of the registry key for sure. And did you reboot after you deleted the registry key? You might want to try this program instead/also that is made by the same author.
Buff
look in your "program files\installshield installation information" directory, and delete the dir for vice city, then try setup from the disc again
