Mister Pink
June 12-15 With E3 2021 a little over a month a way, it's time to start getting excited about what kind of releases we can expect for the future. With current gen console shortages and delays of games due to Covid, there has been a setback of the launch of this generation. Covid times have seen record sales for the likes of Sony PlayStation, Microsoft Xbox and Steam. E3 2021 in my opinion is a pivotal year for gaming. It's the first E3 of the new generation. While the console supply looks likely into 2022, there will still be huge announcements at this E3. Personally, I'm excited to see Xbox's announcements. We will most likely see Starfield, Bethesda's long-awaited space-RPG. We are also rumored to see Forza: Horizon 5 and most likely S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2. We will probably get Halo: Infinite trailer and possibly Microsoft: Flight Simulator. Some of those games are confirmed for 2021 but all rumored to be releasing this year and coming straight to Game Pass, day one. Game Pass is possibly coming to Nintendo Switch and Xbox might have one or even two unannounced AAA games from their 23 studios. What games are you expecting to see and what games do you wish to see? What developer shows are you most anticipating? _________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ JUNE 10 – SUMMER GAME FEST KICK OFF LIVE Geoff Keighley’s Summer Game Fest begins with the Kick Off Live show, a two-hour broadcast set to broadcast on broadcast on Thursday, June 10 at 11am PDT / 2pm EDT / 7pm BST. Over a dozen “premiere” game announcements will be there, as will Weezer. This is Summer Game Fest’s premiere event, but there’ll be more throughout the month of June. JUNE 12 – UBISOFT FORWARD Ubisoft’s usual E3 showcase will take place on Saturday, June 12 at 12pm PDT / 3pm EDT / 8pm BST. There are no details yet on what will be announced at the show, but it’s safe to expect updates on Far Cry 6, and whatever the new name of Rainbow Six Quarantine will be. The real question is whether we’ll get news on titles that have been MIA for ages, like Beyond Good & Evil 2 and Skull & Bones. JUNE 13 – THE PC GAMING SHOW The PC Gaming Show returns on June 13, and will provide news on – you guessed it – PC games. The fine folks over at PC Gamer have made this presentation a pretty exciting one for PC nerds over the years, and while we don’t yet know anything specific to event this year, last year’s event featured everything from the debut of eventual mega-hit Valheim to the surprise release announcement of Persona 4 Golden on Steam. JUNE 13 – THE FUTURE GAMES SHOW The Future Games Show is hosted by GamesRadar, and it essentially serves as a sister broadcast to the PC Gaming Show – but one which includes announcements for games on console and mobile, in addition to PC. There’s generally a solid blend of indie and triple-A stuff at the Future Games Show, and last year’s E3 broadcast included news for games like Sherlock Holmes: Chapter One, Ghostrunner, and Kena: Bridge of Spirits. JUNE 16 THROUGH JUNE 22 – STEAM NEXT FEST Steam Next Fest is the re-branded version of the Steam Game Festival, and it’ll be pretty similar in focus. There’ll be a pile of developer livestreams and “hundreds” of free game demos to enjoy throughout the six-day event. Grichka Bogdanoff
I don't expect to see much "next gen" games as we're currently in the transition phase. Space Cowboy
Apparently Konami is outsourcing some Castlevania and Metal Gear projects...and if a new MGS is a thing and is shown at E3, I'd be very excited. Sony might be working on some MGS remakes which would also be cool. But I am not holding my breath for anything. What I'm expecting though are projects that are likely releasing this year or early next year. If I see Starfield with a proper reveal like Fallout 4 had back in 2015, I'll be satisfied. I am also expecting Elden ring because we are overdue for a footage or new information and also BOTW sequel. Mister Pink

And, all things going well, if it is revealed, we can expect it to release this year. We also were due to expect Skull & Bones this year too. Perhaps not a release, but something of a reveal as it was re-imagined during development. @MarshDanniI've never played Stalker but love the setting and the concept behind it. It's been a long time since I've played something new so I look forward to it. Uncle Sikee Atric
Another year of nothing interesting.... The only games I'm slightly interested in development in, I'm on their official Discords, and they tease plenty enough. Just watched the animation routine for a 360 degree pixelled char today, and it allows smooth, full body animation in the toolkit. Yeah, I love the Hitman series so hopefully they will do justice to a Bond game. I'd be all about a stealth Bond game, if that's what they're going for. Throw in a bit of Splinter Cell (gadgets, night vision goggles, climbing pipes) with some action-orientated missions in maps like Deus Ex and Hitman (semi-open world/sandbox sections) where you can enter buildings multiple ways - either through sewers (if you can find a way to turn off the electricity down there get past that electrified puddle ), or by fire-escapes and even guns-blazing. In fact, if it takes inspiration from Deus Ex where you can stealthily complete the game without killing people or you can go full on Rambo style would be nice. Also hope they re-use Hitman costume changing function/dynamic. I know IO didn't make Hitman, just have to mention Deus Ex when it comes to stealth. Had to watch the teaser again! ______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Edit Has anyone been following the Epic Vs Apple court case? Very interesting things are coming out of it. Can't mention them all here as it will be off topic. However, on-topic is that Microsoft's first exhibit in their testimony is an interesting document listing their release schedule for 2021. On that document is 15-18 games redacted or hidden. We all ready know Xbox has a busy schedule of releases this year; Forza: Horizon 5, Halo: Infinite and most likely Starfield! Not one, not two but three massive AAA titles! Two of those titles aren't officially announced for release so it still leaves 12-15 games either in partnership with Xbox or exclusive or with some sort of deal. We also have reports from Jez at Windows Central that he knows of two big unannounced titles coming to Xbox. He won't spoil their reveal but it's exciting to know. You know I didn't care and still don't care for the idea of exclusivity. I think the more people that get to experience a game, the better. However, it's feeling nice to be on the other-side of "Xbox has no games narrative" even though I never truly believe that, given Game Pass, HDR-boost and FPS boots (Xbox's commitment to game enhancement/preservation and backwards compat). Anyway, this E3 for me is going to be huge because I think Microsoft's quest be the leader in gaming continues. I just got a decent enough laptop so, I'm curious to try some titles on PC via Game Pass. But even the thought of Starfield alone is a enough to call this a big E3 for me. How often does a Fallout, Elder Scrolls or Starfield come around? Bloodytears1666
Konami said they will not join, so do not expect anything related. On a subject, it is hard to expect something big on E3 after last year. I'm only hope to see Elden Ring, Bloodlines 2 and... What else possibly could be shown. Plus as PS fan boy, most of E3 games going to be out of reach... Really couldn't ask for a better developer to tackle the concept Rockstar had for Agent game. It was supposedly inspired by Bond movies as well as the British TV shows Professionals. I loved that concept so I am very excited for it. It's a Souls game made in collaboration with George R. R. Martin. According to the interviews it's much more open-ended than Dark Souls and overall has a heavy emphasis on RPG elements, which wasn't that prominent in their latest game Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice. Their aim is to create a game that has more options for experimentations than Dark Souls ever had. Which could be interesting because in Dark Souls I always go with melee Not much is known about the world. One of the rumours say that the game features multiple kingdoms in which the player in any other defeats the rulers in them and gains their powers. It sounds reasonable given that Dark Souls has always been a kind of a 3D metroidvania of sorts. There was an emphasis on exploration and the game didn't tell you what to do - you could sometimes end up where you shouldn't be yet because you're not strong enough etc. Dark Souls 1 is quite open-ended, the other 2 games in the series less so. I do want to see EA announce the return of NBA live again. Scott OG has left 2k and returned to EA and he took Rob Jones with him so I hope whatever they're working on can give 2k some competition. TheSantader25
I want to see something fresh. The new hardware is here but there's still nothing on it that makes me consider buying a new console and I'm still happy with my PS4. It's time to show something truly unique. Something that the previous generation consoles can't pull off. But I have low expectations cause COVID has definitely made the already long game development process even longer. No more remakes, remasters and uninspired mediocre sh*t please. It's time to take gaming to the next generation. Mister Pink
It's of little surprise that Microsoft and Bethesda's E3 event will be a shared event. I think Xbox really want to capitalize on Bethesda as their new poster-boy studio. I think it's works as Xbox seem to be heavily pushing RPG's this gen; Avowed, Fable 4, Starfield, Fallout 5 and Elder Scrolls. Jason
I'm kinda expecting a very strong show from Microsoft to be honest, Starfield will show 100% even if it's not gonna make it out this year, but I think we'll probably see some teases for some of their other first party projects and of course more Games Pass announcements and reveals. EA's show will be a complete and utter disaster as per tradition, their EA Play format has resulted in a shambolic showing every single year and I expect no different this year, but they'll show Battlefield and possibly Dragon Age 4, so it'll probably be worth putting up with their usual sh*te for once. Ubisoft put out a decent show every year IMO, they always have announcements even if they couple it with their French-ness, so I always look forward to their shows. Digital Devolver are always good for a laugh, and the PC Gaming Show is always good for going on for about 2 hours longer than it should so it's better to watch the trailers the next morning for that one. Rumour has it a well that a big show has leaked, believed to be an E3 show, rumoured to be Square Enix but some think Nintendo.
